  1. After reading your posts regarding how good the standard set up was with the Schimmel intake, I did some research on them. They seem to be a great £ for £ modification as they improve the idle & increase the VR torque curve consistantly throughout the range & can increase power upto 221bhp. Then I noticed that you arranged a GB for these around April/May this year. Wish I'd of seen that as I would definitly have had myself a set of these. My car was off the road for a few years & I just got it back on June this year. I hadn't been looking at anything Corrado related in this time either so I guess it just wasn't to be... maybe next time
  2. Doesn't seem to be a definite answers on those threads Jaime. It seems that the G60 had their coolant pipes changed for the later cars, then there's other changes like Air Con & LHD versions. Going by what I've read there seems to be 4/5 hoses that are universal and there is 1 or 2 that vary. If Amber & Samco can't help then I don't know how we'll find out, unless someone on here who has them fitted to their G60.
  3. I don't know either, prob the only way we can find out is to PM someone who has fitted these to their G60. During your search did you come accross any G60 owners with these on? I'll check their website & post here for you :) Ok, will update list... you won't regret it :D
  4. OK guy's, so we have 8 definites and 3 maybe's If we have 10 definites then we'll get an amazing 30% off the 'Samco' hose kit. That would make a set for the VR6 less than £180  There is no way that you will get these as cheap anywhere else. As I mentioned earlier one OE hose cost me €106 from the dealer so a full kit for less than £180, is a real bargain. Don't forget that the Samco hoses are an upgrade to OE ones so it's not as if we're cheapskating here :) I've updated the current list on the first post of this thread
  5. I remember seeong this about 8 years ago... looks like one of those caracture raddo's 8)
  6. 392.3 bhp  thats twice as much as standard. Did you have upgrade your coolant hoses at any time? What temp does it run at these days? I wouldn't be surprised if to see it a supercharged-turbo someday  seriously, It's a pity you hadn't started a build thread for the car years ago. Theres so many questions, experience and info tied to this car, where do you start??
  7. Just got some 'SoundX' from ebay. It comes in 100mm wide rolls & it takes approx. 1/12 rolls to do each door. With it being 100mm wide, it's fairly easy to install. It can be cut using either a good pair of scissors or a Stanley knife. It would remind you on Gaffer Tape with Tar as the adhesive. Also replaced the little tailgate spots, freshins up the look of the back when the boot is up £2 :)
  8. Special car... everything done with no expense spared :notworthy: Are you happy now with it? :)
  9. To be honest, no. It prob has but you'd need some kind of db measurement tool to know for sure. Although the only reason I did it was to try and take the hollow sound away everytime you close the doors, and it does do that a little better. The new door strikers made a bigger difference when closing the doors and they only cost a tenner
  10. No just getting the car back on the road this year had given me a new lease of life with it. I've also been busy soundproofing it & got a new set of In.Pro Fogs & Indicators. My drivers side fog light was cracked so I just replaced the lot. Starting to think it's time to cool off now though as the bills are mounting up. I'm taking it off the road again soon so I need to sort a few mechanical things like a Samco hose kit & sump guard gasket. Then over the winter I'll have to get new brake lines all round & get the timing chains done. Car has just turned 99k this week :(passat climatronic wiring diags.pdf25072010938.jpg[/attachment:13w1oxop]climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdf22092010048.jpg[/attachment:13w1oxop]2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf7.jpg[/attachment:13w1oxop]8.jpg[/attachment:13w1oxop]
  11. Fitted new Door Strikers... £10 off ebay :norty: 5 min job, just unscrewed the old ones & screwed in the new chrome ones. I think they're for a Mk2 Golf, same fitment. Not to keen on the yellow plastic bit but the difference now when closing the doors is MUCH better :D
  12. Oh I know... A supercharged VR6 too  :)
  13. Sorry mate, thought you were joking :) The can is finished now anyway. I got it a while back to do the door handles, then I touched up around the inner lips of the wheel arches where paint was flaking off due to stone chips. I had to lay the roof strips side by side when I did them so as not to waste any.
  14. No prob mate, edited to suit. should be able to arrange getting a clip set on it's own. Name on the list :D We just need 2 more definites and we're there.
  15. I prefer the look of the 90mm as well 8)
  16. Silver would be a nice contrast on your car. Took some more pics from different anglesclimatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdf22092010045.jpg[/attachment:chx0e1ju]2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf22092010046.jpg[/attachment:chx0e1ju]22092010047.jpg[/attachment:chx0e1ju]

I think they look great, you'd think they were made for the Corrado :) Car has a good stance with them as well 8)
  18. Cheers Hatcha, easy enough to do cos you can easily take the strips out of the car. I noticed a lot of the newer VW's have them done so just keeping up with the Kardashians (as they say now a days :) ) No problems with the flex, the colour coded part is fairly rigid. I think its made from the same type of plastic as the door handles. I'll take a few more pics from different angles later Thanks Jim, I'd thought about filling them before but I've heard that the fillers will crack over time so happy enough with this for now Cheers Ben, they prob look better in real life. Only thing is when I originally trimmed the strips a few years back I took a few little nicks out of the harder plastic, which shows up now they are silver :| Thanks Aide, I'm always tinkering with something on the car
  19. Colour coded the roof strips last week. I removed them by gently prying from the back. I also removed the back door hinge covers by carefully prying them off to using a small flat screwdriver. Cleaned, sanded & preped everything for paint. I bought some Satin Silver (LB7Z) from local motorparts shop, mixed & put into an aerosol can for me :D Also bought some plastic primer & clear laquer. After I preped the strips I applied the plastic primer using a good brush, sanded & reapplied this a few times (just to be sure). Left them all to dry overnight. Then I sprayed the strips, put on 4 coats using the aerosol and again left overnight to harden. Next day I applied another 3 coats of laquer & left to dry again overnight. The best thing about doing this apart from the cleaner look is that I don't have to worry about going over them every time I clean the car with the rubber & vinyl conditioner :D
  20. Yes the 25-30% discount applies. Do you want me to put your name down? Same discount applies to the clip sets as well :D
  21. The best thing to do is measure (with your wheels fitted) the distance from the outside of the wheels to the arches. This will give you the most accurate figure to what spacers you can get away with. When adding spacers you don't really need to worry about the ET clearance for the callipers. I found making the rears 5mm wider gives a more even stance all round.
  22. Fitted my new In.Pro fog & indicator lights 8) Bit too much black around the fogs for my liking but they are a fairly good fitment
  23. Even without the discount though, they are still the cheapest about for the kit. So, don't feel that bad
  24. Asked Amber Performance about discount for other Corrado's and he said the discount will apply to all owners as well. I have to say that dealing with Amber Performance is a pleasure... no quibbles, no messing just fair & straight to the point :salute:
  25. Posted on the CCGB forum as well :) I have a bubble on one of my hoses at the momont so I would like to get them before it goes. Been nursing the car now for a couple of weeks with this problem. I don't mind waiting until the end of the month but I really do need mine asap, sorry. Cheers
