    waynes corrado

Smooooth :D looking good wayne, nice to get all the little imperfections sorted as well. Are you gonna fit the front indicators into the headlights like rsgnts? They look :shades:

    Oil be damned

Just thinking, there's an oil expert on the forum. I'm nearly sure he started a specific thread for oil questions, might have a search for that :)
  3. Continuing with the Carbon Fibre theme... :D

    Oil be damned

As long as you don't mix different oil types :nono:

    Oil be damned

You can use 5W/40 Fully Synthetic in the VR as well. When the Corrado was made '88-'95, fully synthetic oil was not widely available in the market as it is today. So VW just recommended the 10W/40W (and printed this on the manual). The 5W/40 will be a lighter oil which will allow the engine to rev easier & the new developments with synthetic oils means that it will still stick & lubricate all the engine internals as it should.
  6. Interesting... wonder if this is related to my bad brakes? Got the pads recently when I put the car back on the road & I think I remember the brakes being better before I sorn'd it
  7. Bump Anyone want to meet up on 21st August then? Venue still to be agreed...

    my wheels

Look amazing aide :) Lots of time put in but all the things you've done are spot on. How did you know the tensioner bearing needed replaced, what were the symptoms? And those 288 brakes look the business... still some bargins to be had on ebay then :salute: your speedlines look mint as well, have you ever thought about adding spacers to them for a wider stance?
  9. really professional looking job you did on the lights. Just out of interest, what brand of tint did you get & how many coats did you put on?
  10. Hi jok, the side strips are made from 1mm polished aluminium and then I applied a carbon fibre vinyl to run along the centre of them just to break it up a bit. I hated the huge OE bump strips but when I took them off I sort of missed them. Not to mention a little bit of the lacquer came off when I took them off :mad2: I searched many scrap yards to try & get some flatter/ more modern bump strips but couldn't get any long enough for the Corrado door so I decided to make my own.
  11. I think the red rears look right on a silver car, the orange indicators just look wrong imo. Although in saying that I used to have a red rado and the OE lights orange and all looked ok on that. Take your time with getting the mods you want done i.e. rather than making do with a cheaper alternative, wait, save up and get what you really want for the car. Looking good as it is anyway mate :D
  12. Those wheels look great 8) I liked the look of your car on the 928's but the dish & black centres are spot on :salute:
  13. Saturday 21st August then, sounds good to me :D I don't mind travelling a bit to meet up cos I'm well used to it. Also interested in the RR cos I've never been to one of those either :)
  14. hi anto, always good to see new owners :salute: what car do you have then? any pics?

    poly bushes

I was looking at these yesterday & was looking for some advice on here too, but didn't get it :( I wanted to know if the poly bushes would give a harsher ride. I think the early Rado shares the same top bushes as the MK2 golf whereas those are for a MK3. Not 100% sure though
  16. Me too :D Now Aide has the car back on the road maybe we can sort something out in the next couple of weeks
  17. Yeah the more I see it, the more I like it.
  18. Nice clean car there mate, nice to have a build thread. So what have you done to it so far? I can see the wheels (nice), it looks lowered & did you change the side repeaters & exhaust? Whats on the 'wish list'? :)
  19. F1 is dangerous a sport & Michael Schumacher competing makes it even more exciting  He did push the limits a bit yesterday but didn't cause an accident :salute:
  20. Would these be any good? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Golf-MK3-Front ... 1799wt_912
  21. anyone got the part number for these?
  22. Just put some pipe grips on it & it screwed straight off :D Just to let you know it can also be removed using a 13mm allen key.
  23. A20 LEE & OSV for me although there are a few more contenders in the 'post a pic' thread 8)
  24. Will take a little bit of getting used to but I like it. No questioning the quality of work gone into it, looks really well done. Great idea to put the indicators into the headlights 8) Also like the 'Fang removal' :) Just wondering about how it can be towed in an emergency? And as you say its just cosmetic so can be easily reversed, shouldn't offend any of the purists. I think the UK scene is very conservative anyway
