Saw the ad for this too, and thought what a nice example it was. Looks like a great buy, congrats!!

Wow what a mess, and what a lucky escape!! Could you pm me your lotto numbers if you play it?!

Opinions of e36 m3 and would you have one instead of a Corrado

Rear arches rust simply because owners leave enough soil up inside the lip to be able to grow vegetables! -
Cool, though early g60s have a cable drive for the tacho, later ones have sensor on the gearbox. The early cable version can dry out and squeal like a piglet.
-
Do you have the early cable driven speedo?

I think they're great cars, not to keen on the engine sound though, especially the E46 when fitted with an aftermarket exhaust....a bit to raucous! Subtle example - http://www.barryboys.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=36017 :censored: -
Renshaw project (probably going to sell / swap)

Great results! What rotary & compound did you use? -
'Can I ask what make tyres did you opt for and did the eBay supplier deliver them fitted and balanced etc for your purchase price?'
Hi mate, the tyres my set came with were Kumho's only budgets really. They did arrive next day balanced ready to go. But unfortunately they forgot the spigot rings, so waited a few extra days for them.
There are quite a few companies offering these reps, and I did find them without tyres cheaper though cant remember where!
You could try http://www.bmautosport.co.uk/showroom/index.php/vwaudi-vag-5x100-c-52_113 I've heard good things about them.

They both look like nice examples you have there :thumb: The second one looks very well spec'd, though I've never seen the alloys on that one fitted to a real Corrado....only on a 'Reval' toy model!!! Though they obviously do exist :)
-
Anyone got one laying around they would like to shift? :compress:

After an air box for a Vr6 corrado, needs to be in decent nick and have the relevant clips / fittings. Cheers
-
Poor Gurby! Anyway welcome to the forum  Get them posted back up chap, we'd all love to see your pic's.

Mate, i really feel for you. That must have been heartbreaking to watch!! Its not worth mentioning the scumbag f*%kwits who caused it, just a shame they were not in between the car and the wall!! It does look like a mess but if you can get most of the panels second hand then it should just be a bolt on and off replacement. Only the rear quarter will need bodywork. Keep your head up chap :)

Ha, I have been driving around with my head down as folks point and snigger!

Thanks for all the positive comments peoples, i know its nothing ground breaking, but i'm now convinced i made the right choice. will do mate, i'll get one weighed during the week and let you know. I gave 16"s some serious thought as they are the best 'all round' size for the Corrado. But the price is not to dissimilar for 17", though my theory is that if they do cause problems then they should be easy enough to trade for some 16"s! Tyres are 215/35, so some stretch, a 5mm spacer on the rear, though I'm not entirely sure they are needed, but the wheel did look very close to the coilover before i let the jack down and had them lying about so put them on to be safe. With the fronts, i am told, should clear standard callipers, though id be very surprised if there where no issues again avoiding the coilovers. With the 288 callipers i have had to put 10mm hub-centric spacers on. I replaced the front wings with new items last year and had them rolled before being painted, on the off chance i fitted wider wheels. Didn't take any pics directly of the rear, but you should be able to get an idea from the pic below....

Ha cheers for that. They will never be as desirable as genuines, but it achives the look I was after. And I won't feel sucidal if I do happen to curb them!
-
Paid. Cheers for organising this, well worth it
-
Thanks everyone! They are 17x8.5 all round, with spacers as they wouldn't clear the 288 calipers. My arches have been rolled, but even so I really expected problems. Though they don't!! I was amazed, only on full lock do they ever so slightly rub, but it's nothing. Cost was £600 for wheels & tyres, £30 for some C5 (http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-tyres/gtechniq-c5-wheel-armour/prod_878.html)

Received the spacers today so fitted the wheels on, I'm really happy with the look now. Im keeping this car forever :)

First time Corrado buyer - looking to purchase this weekend
iR6 replied to Aran's topic in Newbies Hangout
Sounds like its had some expensive jobs already taken care of, milage is not to much of a concern with the Vr6 if it has good history. However body colour is very important, Blackberrys are worth at least double the value of any other colour, as its the best.............this will now be backed up by every other member :) -
Great colour and sits lovely on the speedlines.
-
That looks smart! Bet they put an extra layer of laminate on that bad boy.......its gonna get some abuse!!

Owen g60 many thanks, though have just been offered a set that i've accepted. Thanks again. Mods, guess this can be locked
