  1. i had a good clean around that one earlier .. so we will see if it needs replacing:) yeah mine has the third one blanked off.. cheers for the replies guys..
  2. ahh ok that makes sense.. i thought they were just for pressure but i did wonder why there were two! i can't think what else it could be as all the other functions on the mfa work perfectly.
  3. hey, right the oil temp read out on the mfa has gone.. does anyone know which sender it is and where it's located? its a 92 j plate mk2 golf 16v.
  4. hey girls n girls, it's been a while since i've been on here, but i'm after a good elise forum!! anyone know of one? i'm basically after a decent buying guide for s1  cheers........
  5. cheers kev as always a great source of knowledge :) and just in the nick of time too:)
  6. is there any torque settings for the bolts holding the main water pump on!!
  7. yeah i'ed budget for that but my advice if you plan on keeping the car would be to put a VR clutch in, it's a little more but worth it especially if your running smaller pulleys etc...
  8. what car is it? on my old g60 for a new clutch fitted incl parts was around 500 quid mark, not sure on the master cylinder tho....
  9. check it out, not sure i would get one myself:) http://www.autotrader.co.uk/EDITORIAL/c ... 32868.html
  10. i tried to explain to them on the phone that this was'nt explained but all i got was the robot like responses they read from in this kind of situation. and to be honest i was hoping that i was gonna get a call from john after he was informed about the situation, but have'nt heard a thing and all i got was the usual letter saying "thanks for your buisness" etc. i can't be bothered to chase it up... probably cos i just know i won't get anywhere for my trouble and time, but i can't reccommend brentacre obviously due to my exsperiences and i really feel like i've been ripped off..... just shows if your happy with your insurance company stick with them no matter how much people reccommend others to you.
  11. hey rich hows u, i would deffinately get the westy (one of my, yeah i have owned one of those cars) as for the golf or corrado question, tricky i have onwed both the golf was very nice it was a highline lowered on H&Rs so handled ok just did'nt light my fire at all... hence why i bought your G60  God i miss that car  but if you had a westy in the garage (and it has to be either a vr golf or corrado) i would go for a well looked after subtly modded late 3 door golf, the last ones were quicker than the earlier ones (more like 190bhp) and it will without question be cheaper than a Vr corrado. and you can use the westy for tha all out driving experience. just my 2p worth but thats what i would do, josh
  12. cheers guys... bristolbaon, to be honest bud i tired again this morning but just got the same text book explanations, i asked to speak to one of there superiors, and was told " there is'nt anyone you can talk too" i don't like being ripped off but i also hate people who repeat themselves and obviously don't seem to bothered about my point of view. anyway i've had a pm, and if the person does get in contact hopefully it can be resolved i exspected a charge but not near enough 30% of the annual policy.
  13. ok well just to let everyone know, i phoned first thing this morning and tied to speak to john, in short they could'nt let me speak to john till friday, so i tried to explain the situation to the guy i ws on the phone to also agred that it is alott of money and that he would'nt be happy with having to pay that amount for such a short period but in his own words "thats the way it is and theres nothing i can do" so yeah i won't be using or recommending brentacre to anyone. cheers forf all the help tho guys.
  14. Furkz: i thought about that but to be honest what difference should it make!!! supercharged: apparently not, cooling off period is only £40 but brentacre have there own charges they neglect to inform you of bumping the final payment to £120. ombudsman ?
  15. thats not my problem, my problem is where they get off justifing that kind of amount of money for canceling your policy less than 14 days after you take it out and pay for it in full!!!!! i would'nt bat an eye lid if it was a month - 6 weeks old but 10 fucking days is just taking the piss imo.
  16. so i cancelled my insurance after only 10 days of taking out the policy with the highly recommended brentacre insurance company, who thought it was perfectly exceptable to charge me £120 bearing in mind my policy for the year was only £450. and to top it off "garry" the representative could'nt have given less of a shit about the fact, even after he openly admitted that he would'nt have been happy with that sort of charge either. not impressed and will never even consider useing or referring brentacre ins. ltd. to anyone. and suggest too anyone that in my experience you can't go far wrong with adrian flux.
  17. andy- so jelous ... one of the greats that car
  18. G60-R : leave it out dude you know how much i miss my old one:) and ownimg 6 corrado's is surely un-healthy.... mattman : i've already had a clio 16v a few years back really great cars but it did fall apart reguarly :) it's deffinately gonna go a 1.9
  19. tricky: cheers thats really helpfull!!! :? kev: yeah i'm after a totally original one with sub 100k on it for around a £1000, it's just to get me about till after xmas, i'm not really doing any motorway miles at the mo so not that fussed.... castro: cheers buddy all info is helpfull, and deffinately want one without a cat  going from my 200+ G60 to a n/a 1.9 is gonna be hard enough let losing a further 10bhp  good luck with you conversion tho.
  20. ahh nice cheers... my knowledge is ok but would be great if someone with some experience could share there knowledge
