  1. Interesting articles fellas. The Dusty Mauve paintwork on those cars looks stunning, like a sort of very dark purple/almost black. If only 6 Campaigns were released then surely it's the rarest of colours too?
  2. Hmmm I have a pic of a Campaign and the reg is J212 XVV so that's definately 1992.
  3. Weren't the Campaign VR6s launched on a J plate (Pre August 1992)?
  4. Jims right with the figures, and it's also true you can drive for miles and not see one, I drove 700+ miles over Xmas and didn't see a single one! They are as rare as rocking horse sh!t where I live too, only seen one round here in the 3 months I've had mine! Pretty glad really though, cos people still give it a second look, especially when you pop that spoiler up! Wouldn't have a clue how many are left on the road now though mate, wonder if there's a way of finding that out?

    Corrado VR6 MPG ?

Hello and welcome to the forum. 8) There are a few threads on this subject, use the SEARCH option and type in VR6 AND MPG
  6. I'm planning on keeping mine too. With regular cleaning, servicing and generally keeping on top of any probs I reckon that most original condition, well looked after Corrados shouldn't really drop in value that much more. It's a guaranteed future classic, if not already IMHO :)
  7. Just wondered how low Corrado prices will go before they finally do start to appreciate, as many motor journalists keep saying they will. I know early 16 valvers can be picked up fairly cheaply now, but on Autotrader there's a K plate VR6 for under £3k and even a late N plate VR6 for just £3.5k! So is now the time to snap up these bargains before the prices climb?
  8. Now that is very unusual Riki. My instruction manual has details on both passenger and drivers airbags as an option, but as its an English language manual it'll be for the USA and Canada as well as us lot I assume.
  9. Why did VW feel the need to put a smaller front spoiler on the later cars, the earlier ones look much better. :?
  10. No fraid not. As I said earlier it really should have done though, the only mention of storm on the car are the two small red badges and thats it!
  11. I have this pic at home in A3 size and even though they are correct storm wheels I've always thought that they have never looked quite right in that pic, the gap sizes between each spoke just doesnt appear consistent to me and some spokes look thicker than others! Or is it just my poor eyesight?! :?
  12. Yeah, but this new engine will have the power that I won't have to worry about that too much! and of course your new diet too mate  :-P :-P   :salute:
  13. Nice but just think of all that extra weight you are carting around now!  :D :D :-P 8)
  14. Rodders is right, the number plate on this car is K228 RVV and it has standard cloth interior, it's in an old VW Driver magazine I've got. You'd soon be able to tell if it was a Campaign as they had the very *distinctive* brick red leather interior. 8) Nice little write up anyway but wonder why they changed the pics, would still like to see a scan of the printed version as well with Rodders motor on it!
  15. AFAIK there were 3 wheels as standard as Jim said. I think early ones had the bog standard late 80s VW wheel as seen on Golf GTIs, Jettas and Passats (which could have been leather trimmed, depending on the year and spec). The horn pad on these had diagonal stripes embossed on it with the VW badge in the bottom right hand horner. The one in the second pic is the standard post '92 16v wheel whilst the first pic shows the VR6 wheel which were all leather trimmed, I think! 8)
  16. Bloody VW. They numbered the recent MKIV Golf Anniversarys with a plaque so I think that the storms should have been numbered too, especially with the price premium that they had over a standard VR. Somewhere discreet with a small plaque on the dash or on the VIN at least rather than just different badge, alloys, paint, grille. And air con would have been nice too! After all they were the final 500 of what we all regard as a legend, no matter what the derivative.
  17. This happens when my boot lock is turned to the horizontal position and I lock my car using either the remote c/l or the drivers door. When the boot lock is in the vertical position it is permanently locked so that is where I always have to leave it, most annoying when both hands are full of shopping! I've taken the inside cover off and had a look at it and discovered that when I lock the drivers door using the key, it appears that the metal plunger arm is struggling to move at all, even with me trying to give it a helping hand. Any ideas as to what's causing this? :? Cheers
  18. No mention of ALL RED rear lights on there is there? I really want a set but don't fancy tinting the originals.
  19. Not if you can pick one up for VR6 money they aint  :D
  20. I got the same deal as you dr mat and in conjunction with Gav's loom, it's made a hell of an improvement, however the sidelights they send are the clip in type rather than the bayonet that the C requires so not much use really! 8)
  21. Job well done Kev looks much neater, thanks for letting us know :)
  22. Well if you want a top notch C these days you may have to do just that. That's exactly what I did, went to London by train to get it though, as no friends available to drive me ...... but it was the first one I saw and I snapped it up :) I'm sure it won't be long before you get a minter so good luck 8)
