I'm now afraid to switch the car off in the event that I can't start it again! Hope you can find a solution mate, I'll try to find one too and if I can solve it thrn will post too. Sanj

Hold on it raises the question of whether teh police were actually doing work or just surfing the internet for ebay bargains  Just goes to show that the public cry out for more officers on the street, catching red handed no gooder Chav's, yet the police deem it more important to catch a speeding driver at 88mph not exactly Maclaren F1 terrotory now is it on the internet

This is the same prob I had with mine, it used to cut out and lose power etc. It turned out to be the CAT. However the problem was solved by itself when the internals of the CAT was exited from the exhaust system over time. I would take the CAT off and like h100vw says knock out the honeycomb in teh CAT so its just a through pipe and replace the CAT when the MOT is due. In addition you may want to consider changing the Lamda probe for good measure too.

Mine pops a when its floored a bit. Does that mean I have a problem with my exhaust such as a hole in thedownpipe, or is the car overfuelling etc. I've just got it MOT'd a few days back and it passed with flying colours.

Was just reading this thread and I kept thinking of the that guy off the Discovery channel who restored an E-type Jag. The car was 80% brand new, but it still maintained its original look etc but with the added bonus of new and improved parts. I would like to think that in 30-40 or so years time someone will maintain/restore a Corrado to its former glory. Back to the specific question in mind, in my opinion OEM+ is the way to go, just to keep the C on the roads. Just my 2p :)

Yep sounds like the lambda probe to me too. Had the same prob with mine until I changed it. -
The question now remains, is should I take mine to VAG they charge £40 + VAT per hour so at the most it should come to about £200 inc parts at the most or am I being optimistic!

Mmmm My service book says that the cambelt was done at 61k, I bought the car at 71k a few years back. Its now approaching 90k should i get it replaced or not. Just a bit worried that I'm gonna get ripped off getting it replaced, anyone now if I can do it myself or can give me a rough estimate on how much it'll cost? I think I will get it doen just for the peace of mind!

Yep I feel for you mate, had my stereo nicked about a month ago too from my Corrado, :( its just a downer to everything, I was jsut glad they never got the car though!! Its just a shame that you cant do feck all about it, I blame the parents and the government for making it harder for parents to give a good old slap when kids get out of hand!! A good old slap was a deterent for me when I was a kid and I always thought twice before I even got into any mischief. Just the thought of my old man getting angry if he found out gave me the sh*ts.

Just read this thread, I got mine on saturday, cost me £85 for the stealers. Tried to fit it too but its a real bummer, cos its a bit cramped under there. Any advice on fitting it etc, or is it just a staright forward screw into place? Sanj.
