same fixings, but there is a kinda basket on the shelf that has to be cut out. When you see how pathetically thin the Nokia's are though, you'll be more than happy to cut them out!!!! They are 2 ways with a lil crossover on the side of them and a lil speaker cable wired up to the tweetr through the magnet! I got them at inters so not sure about full prices, much the same i think though. MB Quart DKD 146's. The 2 way switch at the bottom controls how much the woofers play. Set at full, they play alot, set them to the other setting (like i have) and they'll only play lower stuff, which should be less stressful for them, hence they should work better. It should also help the soundstage come higher in the cabin. I found having them set at full was a little too much for my liking  too in your face. Incidently i also have the tweeters set at their lowest levels cause i can find treble to harsh at times, thats why Adjustable crossovers are so handy though, each to their own.

erm... No... Fair enough, i heard more bad than good about them. Don't need too, Jim and i spoke about it before i bought my FK's and we talked about them in length when he was fitting them saying how happy he was with the kits and how he was thinking about distributing them. Being a Koni dealer im sure he'd of been happier if i'd bought the Koni's off him anyway! Like i'd already mentioned though, is the poor aftersales service at the mo as they are still quite new on the market it think (could be wrong) In 3 years time when my spring is inevitably going to break it may be a completely different story  I can take the chance tho cause im quite lucky to have a works van and a GF that can drive me about. The FK is a great kit, i can vouch for that. I didn't say the Koni kit was crap, id heard more bad points than good about it, so how would that make sense for me to buy them? Is the Koni kit better because it suits more than one application? The Koni adjustable dampers are probably the best you can get. Why make a set when you can supply the best. But suspension needs both good springs and dampers to make the right set-up for supreme handling. A car is better with specific spring rate settings just like its better with proper damper settings, hence why we buy fully adjustable kits, isn't it? i.e my car is set slightly higher at the rear and the dampers are set differently front to back for a perfect ride, i took a day or two to get this just right. once its set, thats it, you can fairly leave it after that. but would you buy a fully adjustable kit and not adjust it? if thats the case, you may as well buy lowering springs or a lowering kit. I'm not knocking Koni's, some people swear by them and they are definatly better than alot of kits out there, it's just there are two sides to each story i guess. If you think the kits are going to break and cant be off the road for long, pay more for the Konis. If you want to take the chance and expect them not to break when you pay good money, then you may aswell buy the FK's. The fact that the FK's also dont have dust caps may bother some people, but you could probably pick up a set for under 20 quid. Put it this way.even if someone offered me The Konis for £540, i'd still pick the FK's (I prefer the BLUE!!!!! LOL ) Just my opinion tho.

i have a set of MB quarts in the back. They sound excellent. not bassy, but good quality. Would sound amazing when my sub is backing them up but as they are they are perfect as rear fill speakers. Only 50 quid too. :thumbleft:

I think my clips are plastic moulded into the design of the tweeter housing... could be tripping tho cause its been a while!!!! LOL Yeah, or you could do that too.....   Are you rewiring your rears too then? im rewiring mine when i amp them so i just using std. speaker cables mean time.

Go for FK's, They are great kits. I have the Konig-sport kit and haven't regretted it once. Koni dampers. Koni lifetime warranty. but Springs set-up for each individual model of car (each car weighs differently in different places and the spring rates on the FK's are car specific) unlike the Koni's, where the MK3 Golf kit is the same as The corrado's (16v, G60 VR etc....). If you buy Koni's you've either used them for years and are sticking to what you know, or you are just buying the name. I've nevr heard a bad thing yet about FK's but i've heard a few grumbles about Koni's kit and was told not to bother with it by a few people. FK dont have as good a dealer network yet which can make it difficult to get the parts but it may be alot better now, they at least have UK dealers now. FK's ad does actually show the kit for one hell of a heavy price tho, you have to shop for a good deal, Try Yaash motorsport in london for advice. My Mate ran Avo's on his MKII Golf and it is quite stiff but i dont know how they're set. it certainly seems to suit his driving!!!! Lots of negative camber too. Its only a driver so he really needed to carry the speed round corners, and it certainly did just that! jus my 2p cheers

Metal clips? aint got that on mine i dont think.... piece o p***, if not a bit tight at times. I hope for your sake that the VR dash's either have more room behind the tweeters or an exactly same amount, cause any less, and id be interested to find where you are putting your crossovers. When you first put them in, they are a complete B******! But dont give up! you'll findout what i mean... Theres two sets of cables going to the tweeters. Play some music and unplug one of them. If all the sound stops, then thats your incoming, if your door woofer stops, then thats your link to the door speaker. mark which one is which then connect the incoming to the first two terminals on your crossover, the tweeter cable to the next two and the link to the last two. Cut the plug off the door cable but you'll have to take a trip to halfords to get some insulated crimps to connect the speakers up! (well mine didnt come with any :() Jus remember to cut the plugs off tight to the plug itself cause their aint alot of play on them cables. You may find yourself actually taking away some of the tape holding the loom together to make it that bit easier on yourself. Good luck.

still aint got mine (sub and amp) yet. But after spending two weeks setting up my crossovers and my 7 band EQ on my JVC 909R head unit, i finally got it sounding absolutely perfect!!!! Just need amped... :(
-
Yeah, thats exactly what i did. Its fine. Once you rip out the resistor and socket (i think) cut out the hole bang in the centre of the old tweeter. Unless your planning on selling it on... If your not, then when your finished 'Modding' it, what are you left holding? A plastic tweeter mount that fits absolutly prfectly into the hole in the dash, and it looks like VW intended (funnily enough!) I'll try and get a pic posted up if you want
-
or you could do what i did and get a whole saw the size you need (32mm i think or theresabout) and cut out the original tweeter and fit in your Focal one. Looks trick and quite OE. Saves pi$$ing about too.

Of course, there is always the 20v G-lader option.......... Its something i quite fancy at least. :D

My Car did the same when an earth braid on top of the engine finally broke. Could be the same thing?
-
Yup! 8) THey could kinda pass as big n flashy estoroils too really :D

the Merc 'Kompressor was an Eaton charger. I know its been done many a time too. As for fitting any Charger, It depends on things like the size of the unit, the shape of it, where its mounting points are etc. I think BBM do a screw type charger conversion bolt on for the G60.

NO WAY DUDE! Sorry to hear it mate. Whats the full damage? Im glad i aint in Rosemount anymore..... I take it thats where it happened? How about some free front speakers to cheer you up? I know it aint the anything but i actually meant to ask if you wanted them the other day, DOH!

I've seen a black C with its bumper flushed and it came off looking a bit large and cartoonie perhaps? As for the Crystal lamps, here's the thread but it doesn't seem like he's been on the forum for a while so you may have to e-mail him. It shows picks of a guys on the VW Vortex forum. If you have more problems, you may be able to log on to the Vortex and mail him about them. http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewto ... highlight=

it's lookin very nice!!! You should think about gettin some custom fogs and indicators from Buddha, With those headlights, it would probably look very cool!

I have the same problem. I'm persuming you have a G60 cause it sounds the same as mines. Did it break before you got it? Mine broke one night and what happened was the gauge raised right to the top the light started to flashand the needlesuddenly dropped. There was absolutly nothing wrong with the car, but had it checked over by an auto spark and fixed the black sender to fix the light. He played about with the blue one and couldn't get it to work. I was always going to try and replace my gauge wondering if that would work. Trying to get that sorted at the mo actually....

Read it again, i didnt say the engine was humdrum. I like the VR6. Thanks, i knew that anyway. And i'm not talking about the european market. I'm talking about the British Market. Different buyer mentallity's. I hope not Maybe you should listen/read what people have to say and stop persuming they know nothing, and you know it. As for your Golf / Corrado thing. Since i've left my VW History book in my other trousers ill have to finish with this. If you ran a company that had lots of expensive bits lying around that used to make something, and could make a few more, would you... A. Make a few more and make money back? or B. Throw all the bits away and flush the money down the toilet? Roddy, You do Know alot about cars, and you have had a few nice motors. But chill out a bit eh? For this being a friendy forum not wantimg to scare people off, you as a moderator should show a better example. I'm going to bed now, lets hope you can refain from saying something against this and lets just get along? Incase you hadn't noticed, i'd put a post in your gallery trying to be helpful and pass some advice. You can obviously choose to ignore it if you want, i dont mind. BTW, yours is lookin better now its lowered. Glen did a good job.

i think the Superleggeras in silver could look cool. You know what im running and they're apparently magnesium. And the s'leggeras are supposed to be lighter and stronger too. Though i have heard OZ have stopped running them at the mo and wll be run again, slightly redesigned. apparently there eas a flaw in the mould..... I'm sure they'd be safe though cause surely they wouldn't be able to sell them otherwise?

mk3 dub, Its lookin good mate 8)

Right, isnt this about time this thread was locked? There really is no need for it now. We all Drive nice cars. Surely? And does the fact that for instance a MKII Golf was sold at the same time as a MKIII Golf mean that the MKIII wasn't a replacement model...? :? And would you pay the same price for a car that has been out for a good few years than a newer version just released? If i were VW, i'd too make the G60 cheaper to sell them quicker. Good idea i thought. If you wanted a fast and comfortable sports car, would you want it to have the exact same engine as a hum drum family saloon? just a thought. Ps. Dont you have anything better to do than chase after my posts and add dumb stuff that doesnt matter? Get a hobby.

It's Amazing how upetty some people get when someone points out that there car isn't the end all and be all. C'mon guys, This thread was never meant to be an attack at other peoples cars. People really shouldn't take it so personally. From other opinions i've heard, and my own personal opinion, They're both very capable and great cars. VR? Quicker in straight line, G60, better for the twisties. I've seen both cars driven hard and they are both very capable, and different at doing their jobs. Remeber, The VR directly Replaced the G60, it didn't become the next model up. VW Just moved onto a diffferent sort of engine, They didnt drop the G60 cause they thought it a was rubbish, What would their engineers do if they stayed the same? They Changed the VR in the same way. Back in the day they had a Forced induction low capacity engine, and a V-Block. They Still have the same today (24v V6 and 1.8T) So nothing has really changed has it. There's no point taking pops at G60's just cause their owners are making points in how they can be tuned in comparrison to how to Tune a VR (which LowG made a very good point of doing.) And as for your tuning point. If To you is not some sort of engine tuning, then why isnt there any tuned cars running Standard items? These are also items that i would reckon most obviously undiscerning motorists on this forum happen to run.
