  1. Where is the non-return valve located originally jim can't remember seeing in when I swapped over to samco
  2. Ye I use samco hoses , never thought of air in the system first thing I will check cheers jim
  3. Well guys the new auxiliary pump is now on very easy job . Some mole grips and a little pushing and nudging and it was in no problem. Now though... Haha when I turn the ignition on I can here water filling or circulating in the heater matrix ? Is this supposed to be a audible noise the heater matrix is only 4 months old I'm starting to wonder if my old auxiliary pump was even working?
  4. Ye I read about it not being absolutely vital to the cooling system and possibly doing away with it but then I read it takes pressure of the heater matrix, and if I had to replace that again I would fuming . I've seen the auxiliary pump on heritage around the £60 mark and doesn't look hard to change.
  5. Oreet friends, last night set off in the Corrado to pick the mrs up from a friends birthday do. Pulled up outside her house steam coming out the bonnet, turns out the plastic outlet that comes from the auxiliary water pump had gone brittle over time and snapped off , coolant everywhere tried plugging the leak but obviously being a jagged plastic hole not much I could do at 11 at night 😩
  6. Ye sorry mate fur point arosas are a cool little cars lol just fuming at the minute
  7. So 10 minutes ago her indoors gets a text from alarm company, her shop alarm is going off. Anyway got to the shop nothing wrong thankfully, driving home next minute crappy little seat arosa right up me arse beeping outa shock of seeing a Corrado or just being a general little Muppet. So I buried the pedal into the carpet and left him in the sweet sounds of the vr6 . But my question is why do they do it? honestly in my 8 years of driving I have never pressured someone by tailgating or beeped at someone at 10:30 at night for no reason. And to think friends always ask me why I hardly use the rado , it's because the roads are littered with morons! Sorry for the rant guys but really grinds my gears .
  8. I coated mine in high temp resistance lacquer mate. Seems to be holding up .
  9. Spotted possibly sherry red vr6 parked near Asda in Wigan spewing coolant out , driver looked fuming (Craig G ) 😁
  10. Oh ye and its got a 24valve under the bonnet guys its a beauty 😁
  11. To be honest mate if I was to detail it again I would stick with menzerna superfinish for removing swirls , the 3m supercut dries up a little to quickly for me, it isn't as greasy as menzerna and also the 3m was hard to wipe off it left a few little annoying holograms in the paint. I had to go round with a quick detailer spray to thoroughly wipe off any left over polish. I can't really comment on different pads as I've only used menzerna pads and there very good, I have used lambs wool quite a few times but with the recent hot weather here in Wigan I felt the paint was already to hot to be using lambs wool the last thing I needed was a burn in the paintwork. I also use a rotary machine and i only go upto speed 2 and a half throughout the whole detail. Thanks for all the comments guys much appreciated indeed.
  12. Cheers tan ! , I used 3m fast cut for removing swirls but only because I had no menzerna superfinish left. I then used 3m machine glaze for polishing stage and then menzerna final finish which is lovely stuff to work with it just keeps going and going. Finally topped it off with dodojuice supernatural. All pads where menzerna. German cars to tend to have tough paint to get through when removing swirls, just gotta put a bit more weight behind the buffer. Arms like terminator by the time your finished .
  13. Not looking like there's much interest in this unfortunately 😞 haigh hall is a good spot loads of room great surroundings, charnley arms at Standish is a good one to used to go there with some rs4 guys they do a mean steak n chips.
  14. Cadbury milk bar lol would have never have thought of that I definitely see the resemblance. I spent the majority of the day letting the buffer cool down ! Was like a boiling kettle.
  15. Cheers lads what you recon colour wise , mulberry?
  16. Hopefully some more images should appear if not my apologies guys.
  17. Ooop for some reason I seem to have put the same pic on over and over 😠 I shall try and fix this lol
  18. Now then everyone, after my little rebuild and getting the car upto a better standard I finally got round to a detail session. The paintwork was quite flat and really needed attention so I broke out the polisher and set to work, the car was washed , clay barred then polished using menzerna cutting compound, 3m polishing glaze and menzerna final finish with dodo juice supernatural wax. Still not sure on the exact name of the colour of my coraado was thinking mulberry?
  19. Oreet Scott welcome along mate there's plenty of great members here with invaluable advice and knowledge , depends what engine your gunning for obviously the 8v will a lot cheaper to insure than the vr6 , I started with the 8v back in 2012 and now have a vr6. Main issues to look out for on all Corrados are , blown heater matrix symptoms include a sweet yaki smell/ taste coming through the heater, loss of coolant usually found in the footwells. sticking sunroofs are a common fault. General ware and tear oil/water leaks as with all older cars. If your going for a vr6 with higher mileage be sure to check for a receipt for timing chains. If your not changing the timing chains yourself expect to pay quite a bit of coin to have them done. Check for patches of rust , all vw/audi are galvanised so in my experience they tend to rust a lot less then similar aged cars , rust behind the petrol cap around the filler neck needs to be sorted asap really. But when you get buy a Corrado your in for a treat mate 😊 awesome cars mate they drive and handle fantastically. Best of luck finding a good one pal.
  20. That has made my day ! Well done mate, I feel the Corrado still handles itself pretty darn well against the modern hot hatches.
  21. cat and fiddle ? im in wigan mate.
  22. Oreet lads been very quiet on here recently even though I went from 8v to vr6 but i have been quite busy working on the vr6 . thought I would post a little pic and update of where im upto. So since taking ownership I have fitted new : Crack pipe , thermostat and housing with new sensors , samco hoses , ported and polished inlet manifold , all injectors have been treated to new filters and pintle caps , rocker cover gasket ,pvc valve, drop links , cv boots , stainless steel tank straps , heater matrix . Car passed its m.o.t on Friday well happy ive fitted new drivers side wing (thanks lil fuzzer for supplying it) I will post more pics when ive detailed the car paint is looking quite flat at the minute. Next job is new suspension struts on the back don't know how hard it is to do?
  23. Ye I agree unfortunately they are golf hoses, I've got samco hoses and they advised me on getting it right between golf and Corrado hoses. Hope you get it sorted mate.
  24. I had my injectors cleaned by injectortune 1 of them turned out to have an electrical fault so had to buy a brand new one. I managed to regain "6 cc" so gotta be good 😊 would definitely recommend.
