    Im Back

Hi Everyone, After some long absence due to personal problems i have returned, i don't expect a warm welcome back. but it was never my intention to 'rip off' any of the members off on this forum regarding the looms i was selling some time ago. I know it has been a long time but i will refund the money to everyone who never received the looms (if its any consolation). I will be going through my private messages and trying to paste together who didn't receive them and within the fourth coming weeks i will be paying them back. Regards Majik
  4. Hi, It might be the whats it called cant think of the name! stepometer iirc But try switching the ignition on (engine not running) press the accelerator 20 times you'll hear a buzzing sound.
  5. Hi guys yeah i had family problems arise and was abroad but i sent out all the looms, that were outstanding by the 21st Dec. It appears that a couple of people havent recieved them so i'll look into the matter and get them one out asap.
  6. Whats the condition of the distributor/cap rotor arm like, have you checked these?
  7. Yeah I was driving my Corrado on a dual carriageway when it seemed like someone was trying to open my boot....then i realised it was the spoiler going up :D
  8. At a main dealers the technicians are paid by hours sold and earn bonus on efficiency. That normally means they'll do the job as quickly as possible and mostly skim over the service, they also work with mostly newer cars so wont really know about or care much for the older vehicles unless they are enthusiasts themselves. I personally think the money saved by using specialist/independant garages will be greater than the value between a car with a main dealer service history and one with a non dealer service history.

Right, you say the starter motor has packed up, try cleaning the connections before writing the starter motor off, its the big red cable that goes directly to the positive terminal of the battery. This weather is the ideal time to make cause havoc with earth point and electrical connections. Have you checked connections of relays, could it be something got disturbed when you fitted removed anything?
  12. Nice one guys, attempted the distributor today, started to move so that sorted, then the clamp fell down a cavity took me ages to find! But its all good, gonna attempt the timing again soon then see how it goes, thanks for the help guys.
  13. Thanks Darren, where can i get this stuff from? I only read up about the service mode revs after i came tried to do the timing, will try again tom/sat
  14. Was doing some work to my car and checked my timing with a timing gun, it read 22 degrees initially and then dropped to 18 degree. I didnt disconnect the blue temp switch, the distributor is totally siezed so there wasnt much adjustment. Are there any sensors that could make it run so advanced and has anyone else had a siezed distributor and whats the best way to get it free, i've sprayed some plus gas on it and didnt do much difference. Any help greatly appreciated.

  16. does anyone have the part number handy for the 90amp alternator? Is it a direct swap for the original G60 one?
  17. In my experience the screws were rusty and rounded off, i had to find the longest drill bit and drill them out.
  18. I've driven the mondeo tdci and a renault secenic 19dci not a laguna but still close, they are good cars got nice power delivery but i'd still choose the passat as its got the best all round appeal and its the newest shape too.
  19. Just read through this, dont people not to what the term "figure of speech" means with regards to the blank cheque quote.
  20. YES YES I'd say im semi old school, also remember as Darren mentions when Ron car got stolen.
  21. I'll second that, if you press hard on the switch they do work then, most of the time if the motor is working one way, then i dont see why it shouldnt work the other way.
  22. I've driven one of the Clio Sport 182 its powerful but very uncontrollable in that chasis, the variable timing does give it a nice punch, but drive it in rain and its all over the place.
  23. M999MGS mint standard VR6 today on the M25 going anti-clockwise from m11 to m1 i was in a 2003 Renault Clio.
