  1. Simple one today although it was pretty messy after the owner having thrashed it round france for the past 2 weeks (forgot my sodding camera again so you'll have to put up with the phone again) Wheels cleaned... twice. Body, Arches, Door shuts cleaned with TFR and scrubbed. Rear load area cleaned and dressed. Body shampoo'd and rinsed. Layer or AG SRP applied. Rubber dressed, Windows cleaned, Arches dressed, Tyres dressed. Interior Vacuumed, Surfaces wiped Leather treated.
  2. try telling that to audi in cambs. £100 plus VAT per hour !
  3. seems ok to me... a bit slow... but there loading.
  4. i look at it that im just practicing so when i do my own car it'll be the mutts nutts ;) .....(in truth i actually use mine and my familys cars as practice for new products i use)
  5. i did write that on purpose ;) you know what i mean though.
  6. and yet are starting to get stick about our prices being too high!!?? ;) thanks for the compliment in all seriousness though
  7. i just got home from doing 3 cars today.. nothing major paintwork wise. but i did have a very appreciative customer which makes it nice. It must have been the dirtiest car i have ever done. probably never washed since new. Jim is right... its not brilliant money at the end of the day... what you end up with in your back pocket isnt much after products (especially if your using half decent ones not the cheap crap they often have at £5 hand job places), petrol, tax, insurance (are hand job places insured for up to 1million???) etc etc... which is why it gets a bit disheartening sometimes when people start going on about the prices.
  8. ok, thats one person who appreciate us :) and one person who doesnt.... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... highlight=
  9. Good work mate. Prices seems right aswell... well atleast similar to mine for a full exterior clean and a coat of SRP. I dont understand why some people think valeting work should be done dirt cheap. Firstly you have the cost of good quality products and then you have the time and dedication of the valeter. If people want to get it done cheap... pop to the car wash or to tescos. For everyone else who actually cares about their cars... form an orderly queue and use a good well experienced valeter or do it yourself :)
  10. not too shabby. tip... take the SRP off with a polishing cloth and then buff with MF towel.
  11. no were fecking not... now bugger off! ;)
  12. OK.. on the agenda today was a nice MkV Golf GTi. Not done one of these before. very nice car all in all. Will be looking for one when prices fall a little more i think. anyway. i went a forgot my blooming camera didnt it so i had to use the phone (K800i) so apologies for the poor picture quality. Before, as you will see its pretty dirty although the paint itself isnt it a terrible condition so not much machine polishing.. just needs a damn good clean The process (pretty much the same as i recently did to my own S3) -Wheels cleaned with AG alloys wheel cleaner, brushed and rinsed. -Whole car sprayed with TFR mix, arches, door and boot shuts, the lot, and rinsed. -Bonet machine polished with AG 03B compound to remove cat scrtches and bird poo etching. -Car shampoo'd with AG shampoo and conditioner with AG Autorinse Gloss mixed in and rinsed. -Clayed with Meguires Clay. -Washed again with the above mix, rinsed and dried. -Waxed with AG Super resin -Windows cleaned with AG Glass Polish of AG Fast Glass spray -Rubber treated with AG rubber care. -Wax removed by hand and buffed at 1800rpm -Waxed with AG EGP -Wheels waxed with AG EGP -Tyres dressed with AG rubber plus -Interior vacuumed, all interior glass cleaned. -All leather cleaned and fed with AG leather cleaned and then AG leather cream -Wax removed by hand and buffed at 1800rpm The result... took about 8hrs. Apologies again for poor picture quality. Cheers Nathan
  13. spent the past two days on and off doing my own car. not many pics and the ones i have arent that great as the sun was a bit bright but you can see it more in the shade. In the flesh it looks amazing though. Before (after a week of driving round wales with surfboards and wetsuits.) After Process: -Wheels cleaned with AG alloys wheel cleaner, brushed and rinsed. -Whole car sprayed with TFR mix, arches, door and boot shuts, the lot, and rinsed. -Car shampoo'd with AG shampoo and conditioner with AG Autorinse Gloss mixed in and rinsed. -Clayed with Meguires Clay. -Washed again with the above mix, rinsed and dried. -Waxed with AG Super resin -Windows cleaned with AG Glass Polish -Rubber treated with AG rubber care. -Wax removed by hand and buffed at 1800rpm -Waxed with AG EGP -Arches sprayed with AG super sheen -Tyres dressed with AG rubber plus -Interior vacuumed, all interior glass cleaned. -Wax removed by hand and buffed at 1800rpm -Another layer of AG EGP on bonet, roof, wings and top part of doors -Wax removed as above.
  14. 40% shorter throw! would like to try that. the throw is pretty damn short as it is. I wonder if it means selecting the wrong gear becomes quite easy. Launch Control sounds awsome. I had a go in a TT DSG and that has it. Feels pretty cool and im sure it does actually help get a good take off compared to doing it manually. Good Luck
  15. the s3 box is nice. 4000 rpm at 100mph .. shame that second gear only gets you to 50mph ish though. I know there are various haldex upgraded controlers you can buy that allow you to manually set where the power goes or even just lock it at 50/50
  16. i have an S3 that disagrees ;)
  17. hope you didnt use the brush provided!!!
  18. megs water magnet is just a glorified microfibre cloth. I have bags full of them ;)
  19. you can pick up 996's a damn site cheaper than £60k these days. im sure i saw one sub £20k at one point!
  20. flipping heck!! i bet your a bit gutted you sold the other one now :( hope you dont end up regreting the change
  21. forgot to say.. alot of those things are form the trade range. TFR for instance.. cant get it at halfords Super Rubber Plus for the tyres... you can get a tyre dressing.. but its water based and not as good. The glass cleaner is different aswell i think as is the wheel cleaner.. basically i can mix them stronger i think where as you get pre mixed ones in halfords.
  22. Ok if i was doing a full outside valet with polish i would do as follows -Pressure rinse wheel -Spray wheel (inc inside wheel and tyre) with AG Alloy Wheel Cleaner mix -Agitate with AG hitech wheel brush on face and Megs wheel brush for the inside -Pressure rinse from bottom up -Spray, scrub and rinse again if needed -Spray wheel (inc inside wheel and tyre) with Traffic Film Remover mix (TFR.. basically a mild degreaser) -Pressure rinse from bottom up -Repeat above steps for all other wheels -Roll car forwards 1-2 ft and check wheels again. Repeat any steps if dirt remains. -Spray TFR mix on all lower body work and wheel arches, inside petrol filler flap, door shuts, boot shuts. (if its a hot day do this in stages so it doesnt dry!! DO NOT LET IT DRY!) Pressure rinse all pre sprayed areas including the door shuts. If your carefull no water will go inside the vehicle. -Raise bonet and spray TFR around the gutters and the underside of the bonet, and if its a newer model car then all over engine (i tend not to do older ones as there is a highly likely hood that water will creep into a poorly sealed unit somewhere) -Pressure rinse engine bay, underside of bonnet and gutters -Spray AG Super Sheen onto wet plastics in engine bay, Close bonnet and leave to dry naturally. -Pressue rinse entire car to remove any standing dust -Use pressure washer to mix an extremely soapy bucket of shampoo (2 caps of AG shampoo) -Shampoo entire car using megs wash mit (again if its too hot just do one side at a time and rinse) -Pressure rinse -Use AG water blade (rinse it first to make sure there is no dirt on it) to remove most of water -Use any decent microfibre to remove any remaining water and continue until completely dry and water mark free. Dont forget the door shuts! (usually use one microfibre per side before its too wet) -Use another microfibre and run an edge around lights, grills and trims to 'suck' water out of gaps (alternatively use a air pressure line or can to blow it out and wipe up with MF cloth) -Spray lower body with AG tar and adhesive remover and use a cotton cloth to wipe any spots off. Also visually check all other body work to see if tar needs to be removed anywhere. -You could at this point clay bar if you so desire. I sometime do this. 3m seem to produce the best one. the megs one is too hard for my liking and i still cant get my head around why they supply a silicone spray to use with it!?!?. 3m clay and pure water spray works wonders. -It is at this point aswell you would machine polish the car to remove swirls. I use AG 03B body shop compound and AG paint renovator compound with the machine polisher set between 1500-1800rpm and using an AG blue polishing head. -If you machine polish then once it is complete... pressure rinse the car again focusing on the shuts to remove polish residue. -Dry as above -Apply a coat of AG radiant wax (super resin in the shops) by hand using a cotton cloth. Cover the whole car -Apply AG plastic conditioner using a small sponge. do everything... even rubber around the windows. -Clean side windows with AG fast glass spray, a cotton cloth and buff smear free with a clean dry MF cloth. (can use AG glass polish if they are particularly greasy) -Clean front and rear windows with AG glass polish. Apply with cotton cloth and leave for a few mins before taking off with polishing cloth and finishing with MF cloth -Spray wheel arch liners with AG super sheen and leave to dry naturally -Take off polish with polishing cloth. No need to buff to hard at this stage. -Buff with MF cloth or .. if you have one.. Machine Polisher at 1800rpm with AG lambs wool head. -You could then follow up with a further coat of the AG super resin or AG liquid hard wax. If AG super resin apply and remove as above. -If AG liquid hard wax.. Apply by hand with cotton cloth. Cover entire car. Leave for atleast 2 hrs. -You can also use AG liquid hard wax on the alloys wheels. -Remove with polishing cloth. No need to buff hard at this stage -Buff with MF cloth or .. if you have one.. Machine Polisher at 1800rpm with AG lambs wool head. -Dress tyres with AG super rubber plus That pretty much is it. Im tired just typing it now.
  23. Dont get me wrong... im not saying the other premium more expensive more interestingly named waxes and polishes are bad... i just dont think there absolutly nessessary to getting a greta finish. Autoglym stuff in the shops is priced just below megs i think. About £10 for 500ml for super resin which should easily last 3 whole applications. the green label shampoo and conditioner (wash and wax basically) is also very good. I actually use a megs wash mit and their wheel brush.
  24. surely thats not hired is it? hire companies would only have the latest models in their line up? pretty cool though.. i can confirm from personal experience there is nothing quite like turning up somewhere in a porsche 911 of any age!! my next toy if business continues to go well... pre 89 911 convertable.
  25. not just premium expensive waxes that give amazing wet look finishes. the main key is how well you actually clean the car before applying any kind of sealant wax or polish. This is the effect with autoglyms super resin wax (red label). key is to apply a thin layer by hand (cotton cloth) on the whole car.. then leave for up to an hour and then take off with a polishing cloth before buffing with a machine polisher at 1800rpm if you have one... if not just lots of elbow work and a decent microfibre cloth
