not bad... i remember that feeling when i got mine :) supprised you only got TPFT though.. i wanted Full Comp on mine. have fun though mate -
Now with bluetooth handsfree and satnav :D .. first weekend with the new car.. what better way to get to know it that to take the dash apart :) Sat nav.... nice and simple.. just wanted to be able to power it without having to stretch a wire across from the cig lighter each time. Took drivers side dash tray off and found a live. Butchered the tomtom supplied charger and wired it in.. wire pops up neatly in drivers corner. Because i didnt want it to always be on though i ftted some tidy swithces in the cubby so i can switch it on and off. WARNING!!! if your going to do this.. dont make the mistake i did and blow up you tomtom! :( There is a 12v - 5v adapter in the supplied lead with the tomtom one. dont connect straight to 12v without wiring this circuit board into your new lead!!! luckily i was covered by currys whatever happens accidental damage policy so an hour later i had a working unit once again :) WHOOPS! Bluetooth... i found out that apraently a bose equipped concert HU doesnt support phone input! although you can still get it to mute when a call comes in. never mind... i installed the speaker in the cubby by the drivers door. button by the cruise stalk and mic by the drivers grab handle (but not in the way of it !) Again... wired it into a live and put my own switch in so i can turn it on and off when i want to. I find this to be much better than ign live as then its ALWAYS connected so if you have a car full of people and get a call from your mum saying tea is ready... it can be a bit embarassing! with the switch i can choose to have it off if i wish. Pics. cubby where its all going on right switch is for bluetooth... left is for satnav out of my line of sight when driving but easy to find when a call comes in i may ditch the screen mount if i find a decent dash one that is neat and tidy cheers Nathan

after working flat out i finished the 2 cars i had booked in for taday by 4:30pm... dashed home and then spent 3 and a half hours on my Audi Washed, Waxed, Glass polished inside and out, interior deep cleaned (was actually tons of dirt!!), leather deep clean and feed. A few boring low light pics.
-
sod that? dont you have any witnesses to the crash? when i had my first one i flagged down a couple of cars and got phone numbers and asked if they saw what happened... obviosuly the second one was bigger and the road was closed so i had lots of witnesses anyway. dont let her win though. stick to your guns and take her to court if needs be.
-
hmm well my mate used to work at VW and was saying basically what a pain the front ARB is.. i'll try some other places though.
-
i'll also be colour coding the gril suround like in that other pic aswell. the standard one is crome which i dont like. just the surround mind you though. leave the rings and mirrors crome i think.
-
maybe lowered with 10 or 20mm spacers aswell... how good does this one look.. although i think they may be 19s

i hear what your saying about revo and if i was actually choosing from scratch again i would go with AMD again no doubt... but this was already revo'd and it seems to do the business at the moment.... the remaps on the S3's from tne audi forum seem to be 50/50 between revo and AMD actually. 18" ers are what i wanted... look better than the 17" IMO and the ride is fine. Will be sorting out some nuespeed ARB's soon though. Mirrors.. i think they look ok on the grey actually.. but if some other Mineral grey S3 owner takes a liking to them i may swap them again. FMIC was what i had in mind ;)
-
A20 LEE, the revo actually feels a bit more agressive. Initial boost is more than i remember... or maybe its just that its been so long since i had a decent car it just 'feels' quicker?? How much did you pay to fit your ARB's? i just got quoted £230 by a mechanic mate.. so thats not even full price! kevHaywire, Got a few styling things to do first and then i'll think about power. prob leave the power side but concentrate on cooling and turbo flow etc (obviously therefore helping power in the long run... but i doubt i'll mess with bigger turbos etc.

well im back.. forgotten what it was like owning a fast car! and boy is it fast. foot down in 6th at 80mph is mind bending! Already washed it :) in the drizzle! Anyway will take some more pics of it soon already got my first mod lined up though :D

here here.... i havent had a rado for a few years now... but this is still my number 1 forum  :thumbleft: -
thought id resurect this thread as i now have a car that is worthy again. Picking up the new S3 tomorrow been doing some research and found out how much my options cost when new £ 400.00 6 CD Autochanger £ 349.00 Acoustic Parking System £ 500.00 BOSE Sound System £ 325.00 Cruise Control £ 801.00 Electric Slide/Tilt Glass Sunroof with Pre Select £ 107.00 Front Centre Armrest £ 354.00 Heated Front Seats £ 74.00 Luggage Net £ 241.00 Polished Aluminium Door Mirrors thats a whopping £3151 of extras!! also as a side point (and because its been a slow afternoon at work...) cost new... £24770 plus extras... total £27921 (although there may have been some discount as i havent seen the receipt yet) so without disclosing exactly what i paid (lets say around £12k) this has lost over £3100 per year! ouch

ardandy, I use a Sealey 6 speed heavy duty polisher. Cant remember the number now but its 500rpm-22rpm speed. To be honest i have work coming out of my ears down this way so unless were talking 4 figures i would have to leave the sheffield trip to someone else im afraid. -
the thicker front bar alone WILL cause more understeer as proved on the TT's but combined with an equally thick rear ARB it can be fine.
-
its not that it causes more understeer... indeed that set up will no doubt be better than mine... but the stiffer it gets.. the more unpredictable it COULD get at higher speeds or in the wet. Variety is the spice of life... that is afterall why there are so many different suspension setups in the first place. When i have the neuspeeds on we will have to meet and compare notes and indeed test drive each others and see whats what. ;)

to be perfectly honest... the autoglym course just confirmed alot of the things i knew and reassured me that i was already doing a good job. Apart from the machine polishing it didnt teach me anything 'new' as such. Alot is common sense and care and attention. Dont cut corners as it will be obvious in the finish of your work. If you treat each car asif it were your own then they will all look like a million dollers when your done. Do the training course if you would feel more comfortable... otherwise just go out and buy loads of different products (or write to the companies asking for free samples) and try them on your own car or friends cars. Nothing can beat experience and knowledge of the products your using. good luck.... but dont come on my patch ;) :D -

Another day... Another car turned from a hazey swirly mess into a nice glassy shiney masterpiece :D This one is a before shot And these are the after's but not from the same angle -
yeah i swapped the ali mirrors off the blue one... but i'll wait to see them on the grey inthe flesh before deciding... they dont look as 'in your face' on the grey so i MIGHT keep them unless i find another S3 owner with grey colour coded ones who wants to swap desperately Mods... deffo the nuspeed front and rear ARB's 21mm front and 19mm rear and then the H&R and Bilstein setup. Then we will see after that.

actually the plate didnt come with it. im not a van of personal plates myself though so im not fussed.
