Instructions on changing VR6 front brakes???
jedi-knight83 replied to jedi-knight83's topic in Suppliers Forum
that looks like the one. cheers matey -
I seem to remember seeing some instructions in the form of a word document with pictures, showing how easy it is to change the front pads and discs....i remember seeing it an thinking....ah that will be handy in the future...can i find it now i need it??? NO!! Anyone know where it is??? I am a complete novice at mechanical stuff to be honest...always paid someone else to do it ......but i thought i would try to learn......and the document / instructions would be a great help!!! thanks

well from a quick sketch id say anything from 25mm - 35mm EDITED!
-
well i checked the PCD for the clio and it seems to be 4x100 so thats 1 problems solved... offset for a valver....hmmmm i think its about 35mm ish (dont quote me) but offset is all relative to the width of the wheel so its quite important to find the actual wheel width...not just the tyre width! ET35 would be for the standard wheel (6 inches wide) IIRC

***SAMCO hose group buy*** NOW ENDED, Thanks.

oh right, so the samco set isnt a bad deal in that case. BTW im not interested in buying, just curious about the prices -
you'll have to find out the PCD. 4x100 are the only ones that will fit the corrado (5x100 if its a vr6) what width are the wheels and what are the offsets?

Out of interest, how much are the standard hoses from VW if you were to buy the whole lot? -
love that leather!!! is it a retrim job? wheels are nice but the offset on the front is miles out....the wheels need to be pushed out alot more by the looks of it. apart from that (and the fact its only got 4 cylinders   ) its a lovely example!

finnally took a vr6 raddo for a test drive AND.....
jedi-knight83 replied to kuksool's topic in General Car Chat
you should hold out and wait to find a VR6 if that is what you have been wanting for so long (i saw you were interested in a G60 on another thread). The VR will hold it value better and give you a bigger smile!! -
well i think the actual A8 wheels are 19 or 20 inch!!! you'd have to find some good copies!
-
bit too bling for me... look how big they are on this bora!
-
this is what is stopping my getting them to be honest.... if i spend out £150 upward on any set of lights i expect them to be finished well and to fit. do they not have VAG connecters then??? ha what a joke... do look cool though
-
id be interested if its under £250
-
wtf.... there not there anymore!!! the site has been updated and there not in the list now???
-
they do do white ones.... see earlier in this post...i found them on the site with all the other LED's, just a matter of making them fit cause the head is about an inch wide!
-
you say they give less light output but there are LED's on that website that say ultra bright, and that they give out more than the standard bulbs...or is that all just marketing blurb? also you see all the high class cars with LED light clusters now....i know that have much more money to put into development and all that...
-
has anyone made any more progress on this area? stormseeker, have you managed to fit the LED's atall? kevhaywire, have you found anything that will work with your tints? I need to strip my lights out myself at the weekend i reckon to se what will and what wont fit. can we not get our hands on those LED's that oichan used (with the led's on the side aswell) ?

noisey tapets / loss of power... solution!?
jedi-knight83 replied to jedi-knight83's topic in Suppliers Forum
thought i'd update this quickly.... the car is running LOADS better now, seems alot quieter and is performing well in both the power and MPG dept. big thumbs up for the stuff i used WYNNS HYDROLIC LIFTER CLEANING SOLUTION about £4 a tin. -
they look perfect... i wasnt too kean on the look before but that looks OEM!! now you just need to colour code the number plate surround and it will look the mutts nuts whats the quality like on the actual lights? i have heard storys of they being poorly put together and being able to see crap fittings through the lenses??? are yours ok?
-
bottom of either door. round the bee sting ariel. mine has some next to the head light on the wing, then normal arch stuff... they dont rust too bad to be honest... i was quotes £300 to tidy mine up and colour code various bits at the same time
-
i meant sell the springs as second hand springs... sone one may want to use them to lower the car... keep the shocks to use with the H&R springs.
-
well you can try to sell the koni's to part fund the swap. 4 wheel alignment shouldnt cost much more than £60.
-
hey if we all just took some simple pics and wrote some basic instructions whenever we did a job / mod on the corrado we could put together a little 'haynes' type manual...i have seen a few threads of 'how to do this and that' could we have a proper section for instuctions on servicing and mods and repairs??
-
ah cheers mate, that would be a great help,
