  1. its worth putting most things on eBay unless you know exactly what you want for it.. the alloy wheels i was selling went for £150 when i was only expecting £50-£100 an old fishing box i was given went for £80!!! these badges will probably go for £80-£100 and then be kept in the wrapping by who ever buys them....have you seen the other stuff the guy is selling? price lists for storm extras, sales brochures, press photos..etc is he on the forum?
  2. dont know if anyone saw this on eBay, but i was bidding on it and so far its up to about £25, probably sell for £30 ish..... but i found their website http://www.russek-manuals.com/pages/newentrance.htm only £8 inc P&P mine is on order so i can let you know what its like once i have had a read through....but if i understand correctly it must be one of the only manuals on the 2.9 engine???
  3. i would buy them if they were £20 or £30 cause then my car would look exactly like a storm..... but £70 isnt worth it IMO....just stick with me corrado badge
  4. £32 already. vr6storm is highest bidder i see............personally i thinks he is being gready..... you already have storm badges!!!!
  5. 21 yrs old 95 corrado VR6 3 yrs NCB £1200 with Adrian Flux for Full Comp
  6. And I think he first started driving it when he was 15! - makes you sick doesn't it, I had to wait until I was 17 before I drove my first Corrado G60 8) huh??? started driving when i was 15?
  7. 6th gear!!! this sounds like an expensive, complicated mod! I'd love to get the cruising rpm down as 80 - 90 mph revs too high for a V6 IMO. do you have to ghange the gear box completely to get the lower FD and 6th gear? how much is all that? ta
  8. i think my noise is bordering on a 1 and a 2 at the moment then.
  9. thanks for the advice on the fluid Joe a nice tip my mechanic told me, that he has done on a couple of his cars in the past is to spray paint the drum part of the disk with silver paint before you put them on the car. (see diagram to see which bit i mean) it wont make any difference to start off and initially sounds like a waste of time, but 6 months down the line when the disk face is still silver and the drum part is all rusty brown it will look great cause intead of the rusty brown you will still have nice silver colour. just a small thing but especially on cars with bigger wheels so you can see the brakes more, it looks smart
  10. ha nice one, just noticed the joker and his finger in the pic
  11. hey thats great that is! and it just so happens there is a passat SB key on eBay right now. I have a toad alarm in my car so i presume i wont have the problem that stormseeker is talking about with the chip for the standard imobiliser??? would be cool to get those buttons working with your alarm aswell ..........hmmmmm :?
  12. ok so the £35 + VAT for the front pads sounds about right Just phoned VW, £34 +VAT for each disc! thats loads cheaper than i expected :D so VAG disks and Pagid FR pads it is... shame those ATE powergrove things look pretty cool.... but if these VW ones are better i'll go for those instead. just gotta choose which brand of brake fluid now.. how much fluid do these things take?? 2 litres?? :?
  13. Mileage is 82k Is it alot of work to take the rocker cover off? i want to give it a good clean anyway and if i can see the upper tensioner while im at it, that would be handy.... can the upper tensioner be changed without stripping the engine?
  14. Well the verdict from the garage was good actually. He said it sounded like the tappets but it was no where near bad enough to worry about anything especially not striping it down and looking into it further. It could have been triggered by some grit around a tappet as i didnt do an engine flush when i changed my oil. in the garage when there doing a service they will use wynns engine flush before putting new oil in again. He said there are a few options. 1-just leave it and put up with the noise (year right, like im gonna do that :D) 2-change the oil again but use and engine flush this time 3-wynns do a special flush that is for tappets that you put into the ehgine, leave for 400 miles and then do the oil change with standard engine flush. he also said that it definately wasnt the chain as he couldnt hear that atall. i'll probably try an oil change in a week or so if it doesnt cure itself before then
  15. also when you say VW discs, do you literally mean walking into the stealer and asing for some discs? or do you mean GSF or ECP discs? would you not bother with the ATE powergroove discs? also... just found Pagid FR-5051 pads £35 + VAT per set
  16. thanks Kev, thats the type of comment i like.from someone who has tried the set up's. what didnt you like about the greenstuff? even as a standard pad they are pretty cheap (£35 per set) arent they? are you saying the VW discs and Pagid FR pads feel better than your current Pagid discs? how much are the pagid pads usually? Thanks alot!
  17. Oh and what brake fluid do you use? thanks
  18. i guess it could be the oil as it only really started after i changed it??? but i would be suprised if the oil made THAT much difference?? The noise sounds really tinney if that makes sense? and sounds to be right on the top of the engine where the cams and tappets are. I guess i will know more this afternoon after the garage have looked at it.
  19. Had the same on the way to work this morning, just driving through town. I have no idea what it is but it sounds horrid. I'm gonna get it checked out by cowley rd garage (VW specialist) at lunch time. Hope its nothing major :(
  20. is it easy to bleed the clutch set up then?
  21. I serviced my car at the weekend. New Oil (quantam silver) New plugs (NGK Plats) etc only done town driving since then, but this evening i took it on a longer drive and there is a wierd noise above 2500 rpm. I re-checked the oil levels and its all fine. with the bonnet open on idle it sounds noisey, but not like the infamous chain ( i dont think???) sounds more like tappets (do these need adjusting on VR6 engines?) It still goes like stink so its not affecting power, just sounding horrible. Any advice??? Please
  22. Henny, its definately fade but i was gonna change the fluid anyway. does the clutch use the same fluid then??
  23. the fade is with heavy breaking in general. im pretty set in my mind im gonna get this set up but i wanted to hear from others first. The ABS is interesting.... i was doing a service on the car recently and among other bodge jobs i found from the previous owner was the alarm siren hanging on its cable swinging around the abs pump area. I fitted the siren properly and securely and since then the ABS hasnt given any problems. I've tested it on grass and it all kicks in fine and the light hasnt come on since i serviced the car. Could it have been the siren hitting the pump causing a fault to be registered ????
