  1. ok so this solves the VGI stuff http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... ht=schrick is this the same stuff as AmD do for £1500 + VAT?
  2. Whats a Schrick VGI and what does it do, cost, etc? What does the crank pulley do, cost etc? and yes you guessed it, explain the final drive aswell please. unless there is a nice easy search i can do to find a link on all these things?? ta
  3. well i dont know if what i have on there at the moment is 'genuine' stuff or not but im far from impressed with it to be honest. the brake fade is massive coming off a motorway on a slip road. The greenstuff pads on my crx were very good and i had no fade atall. plus, genuine is all well and good when it comes to body work and looks but it is boring in some instances.
  4. i did a search but i could only find stuff from a while back and nothing really to satisfy my question which is... I need to change the front brakes (discs and pads) soon and im on a bit of a budget so brembo and red dot are out of the picture.. What i had my eye on were ATE powerdiscs from EuroCarParts which are £27.50 each + VAT Greenstuff pads from NeedForSpeed which are £31.20 for the set + VAT I have already heard good things about the ATE discs from vr6storm among others and i know from personal experience that the greenstuff pads work well....BUT :?: Has anyone used these products together? I have heard that certain pads and disc combos dont work so well. :?: I would appreciate your comments.
  5. OK this is for those of you who use the compaq / hp iPaq and navman GPS jacket in your corrado... When have you mounted it? In my trusty old CRX i had 'fashioned' a bracket out of metal that cliped to my heater vents and it worked a treat and looked very tidy. In the corrado however the stereo sits much higher in the dash so if i used a similar system the iPaq would hang down over the stereo facia. Just wondered how you had yours installed?? Thanks Nathan
  6. Firstly, i came from a very quick Honda CRX and to be honest i was a little disappointed....at first.......but after a week of driving got back in my crx and it felt dead.... it was just a different type of speed... Having said that, i am looking at a re-chip at AmD next year just to give that bit extra uummph. Keyheywire.... i have looked for your pics of your oil cooler and all i found were links to a photo site that said the account was now closed??? could you post them up again? also do i have any chance of fitting an oil cooler bearing in mind i already have the air-con rad infront of my standard rad?! thanks
  7. i wasnt gonna comment on this thread mainly cause i wont let my GF anywhere near my corrado........... BUT the other day i was driving through cambs minding my own business when i saw a corrado coming towards me... i got ready to flash as it came past but then i realised it was an old lady (looked about a hundred and twenty twelve). it was a indian red VR6 apologies to old people....
  8. could be the oil (though im not sure it would affect the clutch). its easy to change (no point topping up just change the lot IMO as its only 1.5-2 litres of oil and only costs about £10) there are 2 plugs on the gear box (you have to get to them from underneath the car) one is a drain plug and the other is a top up / level plug. On my VR6 they were both 17mm alan keys to undo them. undo the drain plug and drain the oil out into a container (you'll need to lower the car again to get it all out (presuming you have just jeacked the front up) then do the drain plug up. to fill it up its easiest to use a hose of some type and a funnel, feed the hose down the front of the engine bay and put the end into the top up hole on the gear box, then pour the oil into the funnel/hose at the top (again making sure the car is on the level ) when the oil starts to come out of the hole, its full. remove the hose and wait till the dripping oil stops. you can then jack the car back up so you can put the bot back in
  9. i use a satnav system that is compined with my compaq iPaq... its only cheap if you already have the iPaq (which luckily i did) basicly i run a compaq ipaq 3630 (old model about £100 second hand now) navman gps jacket (£150 from eBay) tomtom2 navigation software (£250) all very portable and easy to use and alot cheaper than a proper installed system... as i say its cheap if you already have the iPaq
  10. just had the quote back. £300 for all the above. should be going in early January time!
  11. the kenwood set up i have is more than enough mid and high range and they are just running off my 40w per channel H/unit. the sub add's the needed low frequency and makes it sound like a much bigger system. The basslink is ideal as it is small and easy to wire in and set up as you dont need to fiddle around with external amps. i have mine fitted in such a way that its a 5 minute job to unclip it all and be able to use all my folding rear seat / boot space if needed. the infinity basslink was a bargin when i bought it aswell (£240 ish i think) when compared to separted sub, box and amp it worked out much cheaper... it wont win any shows with the boot open in a big field but it'll sound good all day everyday in normal use!
  12. depends if there are any near to me. im not really into the whole show scene so i'll only go if there is one pretty near.. i would be interested in a group rolling road day though!??
  13. guess this is a 'body kits' section thing... just took my car in for an estimate on a few minor things i wanted to put right! i bought it 5 weeks ago now and already i have put the BBS solitude wheels on, 4 new michelin pilot tyres, lupo wipers, uprated headlights, new ice install (nothing fancie), koni adjustable suspension... now i am getting the following done, colour coded headlight surrounds (the grill is already done) colour coded rear number plate surround both doors re-aligned dent on near side quarter pannel straightened rust on nearside front wing cut out rust on near side door cut out. There all small things and if you looked at the car you would have to really look for the defects and rust (it took me 3 days after buying to notice them!!) I'll add the before and after pics soon. Regards Nathan
  14. i have michelin pilot exalto's at present and although i havent really had the chance to put them to the test in my 'special' way yet (mainly due to the koni suspension still sitting in my bedroom) i am happy with them in the wet and dry. Having said that they are rather expensive and dont perform much better tham my old toyo T1-S tyres IMHO
  15. i got kenwood components in the front doors with the tweeters in the OE holes in the dash (there very easy to fit and wire in) just got some kenwood 2-way speakers in the existing speaker locations in the rear but then im running an Infinity bass link in the boot. The basslink is 2x10" subs back to back and internally amp'd so it takes up very little room and isnt too 'boy racer style'. but it does give a lovely deep feel to your ICE setup
  16. that price is excluding VAT! you need to add another £30 + P&P Magnex are very good but its a personal choice if there are 'the best' or not?
  17. i must be one of the youngest VR drivers on here after looking at this thread??
  18. does anyone have the part number for the metal one? dealer couldnt find it listed at all. thanks
  19. had my VR for 5 whole weeks now!! bought on 80k, now on 82500
  20. if it flashed it was a gatso. the forward facing truvelo cams dont flash.... gatso's can only prosecute if there are lines on the rd and are only really effective from the rear. if there were no lines on your side the road your definately ok...if there were lines on your side you've still got a good chance you wont hear anything. I've been flashed when driving towards cams loads of times and i've not been caught once if that re-assures you.
  21. i think new needles that use a small inner ring of light sound better that glow in the dark stuff IMO also i would like a set that are cream by day and black by night... is that possible?
  22. it does look very slick! would love to have that car. some more pics for you
  23. I have seen a few pics of corrados with different door handles. like this (see attachment) what car are these from? i have seen the same handle on a few corrados. also....notice he has the headlight surround sprayed to match the body colour...looks very smart.
