non-standard wheels aside,I more than halved my fuel bill going from a 1.6 auto mk2 to my VR and it routinely does 70 miles to under 10 pounds worth of fuel a day and my speedo reads within 2mph at 70mph on its 'non standard tyres'

I replaced my radiator just after this ;) it had cracked where the clip goes in at the top bend

---------- Post added at 10:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:22 PM ---------- 30 mile commute on motorway to work and it was virtually all an average speed camera zone, pretty sure this was a thursday afternoon heading home from work. And it done Falkirk>Northampton>Falkirk on a tank and a half including some mate related hijinks on the way there and almost a solid 80-90(kmph obv)from the borders to my home as it was well after midnight heading home from edition

There were three versions of 14" P's(mk1,mk2,Pirelli's own 8 P version with a metal cap)two versions of 15" P's(vws 5.5x15 9 slot and pirellis own 6x15 8 slot again with metal cap)and a very rare 16" version(5x120 bmw) ;) As above,if your still on 256s any of the 14s will clear

im guessing but youll do/have done a flush and renew on the brake fluid as well as the change of discs/pads?will help a bit if nothing else but your still going to be losing them @7-8 laps in at the hairpin are you doing an open pit event or a normal hatch' day? if your doing a rolling in-out your tyre temps will matter more as running sessions like a normal track day theyll drop too much inbetween sessions and by the time theyre back up to temp youll be getting more pressure variance than an open pit if your abusing the available time so on a normal track day its harder to set for optimum but checking the first sessions pressures before and after will be the best guide for your next session what run off have they extended btw? not been up often this year -

sorry not trying to pull a sale but wouldnt advise you to get one peebee unless you have A - air , B - raised engine or C - both -
I could be that guy I think ,kinda on most forums as dubbed_up_daz....At present I work in govan mate but been attending to the corrado the last few weeks in prep for selling it so had the week prev. to edition and a week off for recuperation after lol but im moving back to my mk1s ,not really my decision but makes sense in the long run. This car was only bought as a donor that turned into a love affair trhat turned into the usual rado money pit lol. Lost out on a corrado award at edition due to only having standard cloth but wasnt letting that spoil a great weekend :)

What is it your wanting done to them exactly?

Finished working on my new wheels. Traded the old teledials of my mk2 for these and got a lump off cash into the bargain but they were a bit of a state got some adaptors made out of steel and got them plated so they wont rust wheels on after a fashion :/ and discovered more things to fix.... then painted the caps to match got a poly bushed subframe and wishbones coming next week and ill fit a set of new motor mounts with raising blocks at the same time hopefully

Mines were 280s like you say but were shot. When the rear brakes died and I decided to keep it it made sense to do all the brakes at the one time. The front calipers are off a late obd II mk3,the carriers are from an Octavia VRs and the discs were TT 312s

prev owner had a ghetto quickshift which broke done a bit work on the new old wheels tried a mates wheels on to measure up for adaptors had a run of bad luck and killed a few sumps, built a death spec one and using it with a basically sectioned steel 12v sump with a mk5 .:R32 pick up which seems to be working done a deal for more paintwork some extras mate stu,at work, doin his tea-pot impersonation result temp fixes plus sectioned to 70mm along front, sides pro-rata show last weekend t'other day outside my flat up to date I guess, got a few mechanicals to fix(head gasket on way out, burst front shock, odds and sods)but just put a batch of new gear and a fair amount of man hours in but trying to fit repairs in around my schedule as its my daily driver and I need it for my 70 mile commute

moved on a bit since swapped the koni adj for fk coils, fitted with old 17s and 215/45s smashed side due to long day/puncture/broken locker/stupidity,fitted new wheels, reset suspension, went to UD ---------- Post added at 02:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:13 AM ---------- adjusted arches and inner fronts and modified the suspension and lowered it a bit more later, pics with a friends car at his unit washed it and went to a local vag meet ---------- Post added at 02:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:16 AM ---------- got new wings as part of the repair plan and rolled and undersealed them went along to another meet after doing a deal to fix the damaged side which included a front end paint
-
you need different hoses to fit the mk4 calipers(banjo fittings),its a straight bolt on onto the corrado carriers though. As said you reuse corrado handbrake cables, either originals or new corrado items
-
with star and bedrock as your guide if your in the middle id suggest g-wagons in alloa, jims good but he tends to like plug in stuff nowadays and I wouldnt throw sticks at Berry if he was being attacked by wild dogs. Gordon at alloa doesnt care who you are and treats every car like its his,ive not sen a job yet that doesnt look factory.

mk4 calipers work with the original cables ;)
