  1. Self spotted on Street view! http://goo.gl/maps/KfP3X and http://goo.gl/maps/HPxRV :smug: mjcp
  2. Mid afternoon ±1500 in Bracknell yesterday (Tuesday) saw an L reg dark C, (16v I think) with a long haired driver. It was byt he Met office roundabout. Didn't wave as I was in the BM. mjcp
  3. I've just changed to a Bm too... I had a 530d touring a few years back, chipped, it was fun to drive (for a very large car) but still got 33-37 mpg ! This one's a little less frugal!
  4. I've got them to up the deal to a years Tax (£270) and £1K for my 'raddo... I shall collect on Monday! (Sad about selling but the lack of air con and cruise was a major pain!) New motor: 03 330i, 2 owner, 68K, full (selling) dealer history, wind break, cd changer, climate, cruise, parking, electric memory seats...
  5. Thanks for the posts! Its a small trader. His story: He will spend £300 to tidy, £150 on warranty and list at £1995, looking to make £500 over all (after a "cost" of £1135 to "buy" my car too) (I do think he will retail it) The car (I want) is listed at £5995. its priced fair for a trader's lot, there are others that are not as tidy, older or more expensive in my catchment area so this is the right car... the question is do I take the deal (I doubt he will come down £1K on sticker without the trade in) for simplicity/ease or do I sell private and sit on two cars for a month or two? bottom line, I guess £500 discount and £1300 private sale = £1800 off the list price Vs. £1135 trade in, so £665 difference for the sake of a couple of months of tyre kickers and double insurance... Hmmm..
  6. Been offered £1K +6 months tax (£135) trade in for my '94 L 16v 95K, folder full of docs/history. Car was resprayed some time ago so is tidy... 8 months tax, 2 new tyres, 2 old tyres, 10 months MoT. Thoughts? Take the trade in or hold on to it and sell private? (I can afford to sit on it for a few months but don't want to be "stuck" with it) cheers, mjcp
  7. Dark N reg in Reading on Sunday afternoon, Tilehurst rd. Waved, was seen but the driver looked like I was some weirdo with three heads and drove past  mjcp

    Direct Line

AXA via Compare the market: £275 f/c £750 excess (£250 + £500 voluntary). 16v no mods, driveway parking in East berkshire, 38 10yr NCB, sp30 and 3 points declared. (protected would be another £30) :-) mjcp
  9. Spotted red on on non std alloys (but not silly sized) reg was j600 --- two up on the New Kings rd near parsons green, about 10:30 on the 18th july (yesterday). You the. Passed mine (black l plate) as you turned off NKR. Mjcp
  10. Also looks right hand drive...
  11. Spotted this morning, Green VR N510 --- in the car park by home park in Windsor, left a note with the site's web address :-)
  12. I can... I've been looking around at 8L S3's, there's a 42K mile one with lots of history and no mods (sounds good so far right?). Trouble is its in yellow. I'm not a fan of yellow for a daily driver and apparently, nor are many others, its still unsold 6 weeks later. Price wise, its cheap for the miles/history but I think the colour is holding the price down. So there's two reasons for a wrap: 1> To cover up a hard to sell colour. 2> To cover up a colour you don't like any more. mjcp
  13. It'll buff out... [video=youtube_share;3eK6lJTuQQA]
  14. Red 16v G708 --- In Egham just now (1315 ish) Mjcp
  15. I need air-con.... So, Another M3 cab is a No no (mpg, service and insurance costs - Doh!)... I like the 1 series convertibles, the 123d and 120d both do 50 odd (or close to) mpg and sub 8 second 0-60 (better than my 16v C) but they are still c. £15K... The recent theft video of the S3 got me thinking about an 8L S3 (225)... £350 p.a. insurance, OK service costs and similar mpg to my 16v. Any thoughts, S3 or other...? (also thought 335d or 535d estate) (I'd like quick or V quick. Convertible would be nice but needs 4 seats. prefer 35+mpg) cheers, mjcp
  16. I've just had a NEW cat on my 16v... £88 inc VAT so doubt the used one is worth much :-(
  17. Need my 4 x Estorils refurbed, I think they've been painted so will need striping/shot blasting? and either a paint/laquer depending on how the base metal looks (I'd like a polish/laquer but don't want to spend an arm and a leg for a full on diamond cut.) So, recommendations for either a mobile refurb or drop off/collect service near M4, M3, M25 please! mjcp
  18. Only driven a few miles today but idle seems more steady and it feels slightly more responsive... could be subconscious I guess. I have reset the trip computer so I can monitor it. Interestingly - the old one was date stamped 2/94 ! So the original one fitted.
  19. Might be of interest.... http://www.bosch-lambdasonde.de/en/downloads.htm mjcp
  20. The old Lambda: Tip: (slight damage to the very tip when removed) and with cable:
  21. Its a Bosch one going in... Idle is OK, no hunting or lumpiness but will enquire about injector testing (I don't think they have the kit). Marc
  22. Thanks for the responses! Well the CAT did correct the emissions with no other work required but it has made no difference to the MPG. Its back at the garage today for a new lambda so we'll see what effect that has. Cheers, Marc
