  1. Ive seen loads of these around, but they are all for G60's etc... Does anyone have a template for the dials on a 1.816v?
  2. Tried moving the dimmer all over the place, made no difference...
  3. Basically the story goes like this: Ive left my keys elsewhere and have been having a go at changing the colours of my switches. I have a key that will open the passengers door but nothing else, so got in and got the switches out etc. I have changed the filters on the rocker switches and soldered one LED switch. I want to test them but when I connect the headlight switch and flick it, the lights dont come on. Have I screwed my headlight switch, or do I need the ignition on (or at least have turned it on and off again) for the lights to turn on?
  4. Ive put mine to a point just before the rear light cluster, behind the carpets. Seems to have worked fine for the last year and a bit.
  5. Got these for July... 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfPhoto0236.jpg[/attachment:3u7fu6ak] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfPhoto0232.jpg[/attachment:3u7fu6ak] Photo0240.jpg[/attachment:3u7fu6ak]
  6. Looks great and very corrado'ish - just the wheels are massive and totaly wrong :( Looks too big and bulky to me like the new rocco. Kinda looks like a corrado thats been sat on its ar*e for the last 20 years eating nothing but dirty d's.
  7. 2x new bolts from TPS. Torqued up. No clunks :D
  8. ARB is very close to wishbone - but what can I do about it? Short of removing one of the rubbers to make it sit lower - but then it wont work correctly / make a noise of its own...
  9. Pattern bone. Not a GSF one, used that before and was crap. Tried a FAI one this time from a local motor shop - they highly recommended them and said they are normally bang on and miles better than the GSF ones... No metal sleeve - however there wasnt one when I replaced the wishbone last time either...
  10. Does anyone know where to find the torque settings for the two bolts that hold the wishbones on? Im getting a nasty clunk from the front after changing the bone and I think its stretched bolts / bolts not tight enough...
  11. We will almost definately be passing through newquay. Theres some surf thing on this weekend I think...
  12. Anyone know of any meets going on in the cornwall area from this weekend for the next week? Taking the Rado for its 2nd trip down south of the year, and would be cool to if we could find the rado a friend or two whilst we were down there :)
  13. I dont use "C" i use "Rado"
  14. I would realy love to know more about the ideas between karmann and VW... I feel realy geeky recently, but im so interested in it all :)

    Re-trim advice

The material on the doorcards? I didnt think you could remove that... Am I thinking of the correct bit - the bit of material where the pull handle is etc, then its plastic all around that? Just a square of material that covers maybe 1/3rd of the card? If you get this off - surely itll be near impossible to get something back on neatly...
  16. Firstly i oppologise if that is not his name  Anyway, I see a few pictures of him floating around on here, and I think I remember hearing he was at the german meet earlier in the year? How did anyone of us mere owners get into contact with him? Why does he come to the meets? Is it not realy odd for him? Im realy confused! Can you imagine the designer of the escort turning up to a ford meet somewhere? It just seems realy bizzare! Maybe im just starstruck perhaps at the thought of someone like that perhaps being normal and just liking corrado's like us. However what must the guy think when he gets to a meet like that? He must be treated like royalty im guessing? God I would have so many questions for him etc... I know this post makes no real sense, but im sure you must get the general point
  17. I will be doing it all again in a couple of days time. So will get some photo's and job my memory and post up a guide of how I did it then :)
  18. If I can remember how I did it!
  19. Aha fantastic! So im guessing the flash red is the red thats more like orange? At least when you hold it up against tornado red
  20. I cant seem to find an answer and dont know where to look... getting all confused  Its a 1990 16v 1.8 - Would this be tornado red? Or flash red? Im confused! :cuckoo:
  21. I havent got any pics but did manage to do mine the other day. Basically, the easiest way to do it is to slide the surround and panel back into the roof. the surround will dissapear into the roof and the panel will pop up outside the car. Push it back as far as it will go, and you will be able to see 3 screws that hold the panel on to the surround. They are a B*stard to get off but can be done. When these screws are out you can pull the panel off from outside the car. At this point you can twist the surround 90degrees to pop it out inside the car, or for ease (what I did), remove the 4 screws / bolts that hold the top metal panel of the sunroof on and lift it off. Then you can simply slide the surround panel out the top. Its very confusing first time because you cant see anything, or how anything works. Once you have the sunroof panel out it all makes sense :) I now have camo rooflining :D
  22. Right, i sorted it - there is a very easy way of doing all this. I will post up a decent how-to after the weekend. It will make this whole thing very easy for people!
