Assuming yours is the manual counter, IE - not digital, then the odds are that its a little cog that joins yours speedo to the odometer. I tried fixing this on my first set of clocks and came to the conclusion it isnt realy possible to do. I ended up just swapping the cluster complete for another one I had laying around, and just adjusted the mileage to suit.

I know this isnt a desperately hard part to find, but im trying to find it in a hurry :) To fir an early black interior 16v, even though the visor itself was grey before snapping itself :( Paypal waiting :)

You'l want it come winter ;) Fix it while your there! Otherwise you'll have to take the whole dash out again!

How have you done that? Put a driver through it?

Not popular? Last few years its been rammed! Anyway, £80 for a ticket is the cheap bit. Got 6/7 hour journey down there including fuel both ways, drinks, food, surf hire, its an expensive weekend :lol:

Am trying to work out what is wrong with my sunroof at the minute. Used to work fine but then I changed the switch and when I tried to use it something made quite a loud pop noise, like a fuse blowing. Since then I have checked all the fuses under the steering wheel - all ok, changed the sunroof switch, changed the sunroof motor itself, still get absolutely nothing when I flick the switch, no clicks, no attempts, nothing. Have checked the switch out and the switch is fine, so could do with a wiring diagram to show me anything else that may be on the circuit that I could have blown. Ive heard talks of the relay going, but aparently this runs the spoiler aswell - which is working exactly as it should do at speeds (havent tried it on the switch though). So, anyone got anything that could be of use? :) 1990 1.8 16v btw

Was debating this, but tbh wasnt that impressed when I went last year... Its a good season opener, but with RTTS just round the corner I decided to make that my first one of the year. Managed to do it all in 2 hours last year, and the drive there is not far off... Still, it probably was the best one for years, its always the way when you decide not to bother!

Just as a headsup, it may not always be wheel bearings. 99% of the time it will be, but ive got the same problem on mine - just changed the bearings and its still there. Pretty sure mine is coming from the CV joint i discovered was knackered yesterday. No clunks when I turn, no split boot, just horrible whirring noise.

Def organise another one sam! I might even make it next time! :)

Ill take the bonnet and bumper mate, will leave the wings :) No problems, ill help you get the grill off, although I think I should get the bumper cheaper than the £20 as its going to be missing a grill, and im helping remove it ;) Will PM you shortly regarding collection etc mate :)

Ive been doing a bit of research trying to find out when my C was built and came across a thing called a "production plate", which appears to hold the day and week VW's were built... However, has anyone managed to locate one of these anywhere on their C?

Yes, still want the switch please mate. Sounds good to me, if you could get some pictures up ill form a decision on saturday once ive seen them :) Would appreciate first dibs please. If the wings and bonnet are of use to me then ill collect them and the switch, if not ill just paypal you for the switch on saturday :)
