Stealth have a nice group buy on at the moment ;)

Quality mate, I used to have a VSR and it made the car so much more drivable due to extra torque. Just need to chuck some cams in there now ;)

Ron's Blackberry VR6 - A11 VRX - Getting her back on the road

Got my front suspension/steering sorted week. Lots of new bits plus tidied up the rest. Wishbones are only about 20K miles old so just sanded and painted them. I did need new track rod arms and ends. Seems to drive better now! Rears to follow this week. Took me an hour to just get the ABS sensors out! -

The problem is that I'm really fussy and so when I find a bit that is slightly worn, it has to come out :( -

No chance to polish yet, been on axle stands for the last week while I strip the various suspension and steering components. Will be back on the road this week and ready for a photo shoot :) -

I have an email of a guy in customer services. Alan Hook [email protected] The kit on mine was fitted in 2007 but the car has only done about 20k miles since then, all parts look very good but the bloody perches on the back we're full of grime. -

They came from KW, £14.50 each. I tried to claim it was faulty design and so I should get them free but sadly they weren't having it :) -
The best radiator is the Hella one, it's about £140.

Started sorting out the suspension after taking the car for 4 wheel alignment. They have a hunter system at Revolution in Gateshead. Needed two new track rods and ends plus my rear camber was too extreme due to the drop, not my choice as previous owner set up the KW V1s but platforms were seized when I tried to adjust. Ended up cutting them off, cleaning the strut and fitting new ones. You can see that the threads had got loads of crap in them. Like new... -
Sounds like an easy fix! Thanks

Hi folks, I have one fog light that looks fine, one keeps getting condensation in it. The lenses are perfect and so I'm wondering if there is a seal somewhere that can be replaced? Short of that I have some Black silicone? Cheers

Problem with 5's is that you can't get them hub centric
-
Yeah that's the thing, when it was a new golf and a £3k corrado then I could comfortably afford it.....now that it's a £7k corrado that does 25mpg I'm feeling it :)
-
Hi, I can do! Let me know for sure over PM, would you head down to the RR day? Cheers
-
Or you can just do both like I have :)
-
Yep still here, not done anything about selling them as I've been soooo bloody busy at work
-
Also you just have to look at the age. 20 years has passed and while the Corrado is a fine car, thinking about what it must have seemed like back in 1990 compared to a performance car from 1970 which was 20 years older back then. The Corrado would have outgunned Porsches, Ferraris and all sorts from 1970....just like a modern hot hatch would be better than the Corrado now.

Agree with Kev :) I've had 24 cars since 1996 when I past my test. Including M series BMWs and fully "balls to the wall" race prepped modified cars like my 340bhp octavia VRS that was built by Jabba and cost about £20K to build on top of the base car price. The corrado's bodyshell is just not up to modern cars. The MK7 is an excellent car. The MK7 GT is supposed to be better than the MK6 GTI (for handling) and so the MK7 GTI must be imense although I've not driven one yet. Dont get me wrong, it has no soul and doesnt make me grin like a Corrado.......but it is quick due to massive torque, handles great due to the new MK7 suspension and does it all with no fuss what so ever!
-
Yep....run while you still can!

Actually I think it was the early 00's. In the 90s they were still a very pricey car and so mostly owned by older guys who were not that savvy with the internet, clubs and forums. I bought my first one (16v) in 1998 and it was 6 years old. Cost me 6k at the time. It wasn't until 2000 when I joined the yahoo egroup that things really go going with any kind of Corrado scene. My car is now fair weather toy and the charger makes up for the general advances in performance ;) I drive a mk7 golf Gt TD as my daily (150 bhp) and it is immense, I still think that around a track it might beat the corrado :(
-
Good on you Dox, I hope you are going to repair rathe than break?
-
I'm on 10w50 now I have the charger (thicker oil is better for the chargers gears and seals) and so far, engine is quieter and cooler

Very good price, I paid just under 3K for mine and I spent thousands getting it to the spec yours is. Why were you not selling it a year ago ;) -
Cheap tyres and too much stretch in my view mate
