  1. I just ordered a brand new Hella VR6 radiator from Ebay this morning for just under £150, they tell me this is an OE rad. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171119819233?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
  2. The Orange one was in PVW absolutely years ago when the TT conversion was done. It was strangely one of the cars that got me into Corrados. Obviously the styling has not stood the test of time :( but in 1995 it was the nuts.
  3. You can build your own kit, that is what I did although you need to buy the right VF engineering bracket for the charger, that would be really hard to make as it's all CNC milled. The rest, pipes, diverter valve plumbing, MAF relocation etc can all be DIY and didn't cost the earth. Also Vince can supply postal service on the mapping and that was just over £200. Check out my thread http://www.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=78385 I bought the charger with less than 5K miles, with the 3.25" pulley (6PSI) and the bracket, then made the rest and it came to just over £2K including mapping. plus I did some extra stuff like bought a brand new sump etc
  4. I thought the C was 4 bar fuel reg as standard?
  5. Charger, did cams on my last VR6 and the charger gives more power by quite a way. Comes down to cost though as charger installs can range from £1500 to much much more depending on what power you want. If you can get a good condition vortech stage 1 kit then you wont need to rebuild your engine, likley cost will be £2K all in. If you want to go Rotrex then you'll get more power and better (lower down) power delivery but you'll also need to add a head spacer (de-compression) and then while you are at that, there will be other maintenance things to do. Probably come it at £2500 with a second hand kit (if you can find one) The big problem will be availability as not many second hand VR6 SC kits about these days.
  6. Cheers fellas, not too much work left. Was going to strip the front end and powder coat everything but may not bother now as it all looks very sound.
  7. Good day today, it's my Birthday and overall things went well. Firstly, my freshly refurbed RH Cups were ready to collect. They look awesome and I am really glad I went with Anthracite as I think it will pop the Blackberry colour nicely. Then I finally got around to removing the bumper and damaged wing, ready to fit the mint one before the respray. Very glad to see that my cars rad support and cross member are pretty much mint! Also, with the wing I'm replacing being an after market one. I was a little concerned that mate it was replaced due to an accident, but looking at the panels underneath, all looks good so for what ever reason that wing was replaced, it wasn't a big deal.
  8. Very sorry to hear this :( I had a Corrado stolen about 10 years ago when I lived in SE London. Was later involved in a hit and run a couple of days later and written off at about 60 Mph, what then made it worse was than the salvage was then stolen again before I had time to recover it (had a VWM VSR) so never saw the car again.
  9. Exactly, the Blue one that is up for £6K right now. Doesn't look like £6K worth when you see all his build pictures.
  10. I know this always gets said in threads like this, but the car is only worth what someone is prepared to pay at the time. The right car, on the market at the right time for someone looking for a minter, you may get 6-6.5K but what often happens is that the seller needs to sell the car and there are not any "high roller" buyers about at the time.....then cars like this go for £4.5-£5.5k Way back in 2002 when I bought Tom Sewells Khaki VR6, he wanted £9.5k which was for a car with a VWM VSR, Mushroom leather, Khaki paint, AMD build engine with big valve head etc...over £20K spent in his ownership. It hung about for 4 months and then in the end I went to see it as I was in the area, said it was lovely but too much money for me (I was only 24 at the time) and he said £6.5K and it's your mate. Done deal as his new M3 was arriving and he needed the garage for that. All comes down to the market.
  11. BMC is spot on but there are two sizes and some numptys by the smaller one. Same diameter but shorter length and so smaller cone. The full size one is good for anything an NA tuned VR6 might need. Consider though that a tuned R32 is almost 50% more power and due to te design of the head, flows more up top. So for a 12v vr6 it is fine, but maybe no for an R32. Also, the BMC needs a cold air feed to the intake end. It's supposed to shield the intake air from engine bay temps. But you see some folks running a BMC open to the bay at the intake end.....pointless! I found that the open cone made the car run rough at idle. BMC idles solid and pick up from a stand still is better, cold air!
  12. Hi Dan, Sounds good to me, I'm after the softer insert I think as I've driven a car with the hard one before....it was hard! Obviously Tom has first dibs but if he's happy for me to have the rear one then I'll take it. Please PM me payment details if all is good. Thanks

    Vr6 maf

£32? I don't really need one but having a spare might be a good idea at the right price.
  14. Haha, you're going to get killed by your Mrs :)
  15. Cheers! Just checking, this is the seal that preses into the gap around the screen, like a trim?
  16. The Corrado is worth that asking price all day long mate, wish it had been for sale when I bought mine as I paid a grand less but spent £1000 getting her to fully working standard plus still ended up with a car that has 55K more than yours.
  17. Is the windscreen seal chipped, snapped off at the corners? if not then I will take it as mine has broken corners
  18. Hi Jim, Just a quick question on start time. I'm going to be driving from Newcastle and so it's a 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive each way. I'm happy to set off early but still probably wont be there until mid morning. Unless of course I can get one of my old mates in Sheffield to put me up for a night (likley roll up hungover on Sunday) Cheers Ron

    Crashy ride

Tell me about it. I've got a MK7 Golf GT with GT lowered suspension, optional 18" alloys on very low profile tyres......rides absolutely great. A lot has improved over the years that is for sure.
  20. Had two moments lately, on Sunday I was at the Shell garage near Newcastle airport and there was an AA man in a van at the oposite pump. He came over saying "you dont see many of those any more, she looks a minter" Also had a couple of guys in a White van wind their window down the other night at the lights, asking if it was an original colour or a respray. Again, saying "Loouks mint liek"
  21. The question is, how much does Terry really want for it. I could be interested if it was cheap cheap but wouldn't pay much for it in it's current state :(
  22. You dont need uprated injectors until you are pushing 240bhp onwards. I've got a V9 charger on mine, stage 1 at 6PSI and still on standard injectors. If in doubt, have a chat with Vince at Stealth Racing. However, some advice from someone who has gone down both roads in the past. I had a VR6 with a VWM VSR, Pack C big valve head, Miltek, Shrick Cams, ported TB etc and it was quicker than standard. I have an RR print out for 218bhp and a big wedge of torque, but cost about £3500 to build when you throw in the remap costs also. For my current car I went for a Miltek and then a V9 charger at 6psi, no need to rebuild the engine with lower compression and mapping can be bought off the shelf from Stealth as it's a common charger. Car is definately quicker than my NA build (non RR yet but should be 230-240bhp) and total build cost was around £2000 with a second hand charger. Also for £3500 you can get a nice VRT setup.
