I just bought a set from Creations Motorsport (they have an eBay shop) 8mm hubcentric, quality is good. £29.99

I've had 3 Vr6 engined cars now and generally reliable but it's more a case of checking that everything works as it should and has been kept on top of, rather than miles. For example, I had a Corrado VR6 that was once a VW owned demo car (ragged for a year) and the engine was caput at just over 60K, complete rebuilt at AMD needed as the bores had ovalised and the rings were shot. My current one is on 142K, supercharged and is still going strong. Although it had a new head at 105K and chains/guides at 127K so it's all be done apart from the bottom end. The best things to do is look for a well maintained car, that sounds right and doesn't smoke

I have a drivers side one in Green and I live in Newcastle, it has some surface rust but is solid. Just needs sanding back and treating. £25

Haha, well it looks like they have changed the design a bit since the V9 as my charger almost touches the bonnet! You've got loads of room there even with the squishy VAG mounts.

I think the bigger Halfords stock it but it is cheaper online http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/400534675380?lpid=83&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=83&ff19=0

Ah looking good mate, so what's left? just the remap?

After that episode of 5th gear, I tried some of that Millers fuel treatment. Does the same thing as Redex but for £12 you get a bottle that does 10x doses and so seemed a better deal that £4 for one dose. Also the Millers adds 2 Octane points! Few things I've noticed while running it in a full tank of VPower Car goes like a rocket and runs very very smooth, my car was clackety on start up but seems quieter. Engine is 142K, head is 35K and chains, tensioners etc have been done.

Lovely mate! -
Haha, mate I'm not show and shining either....I really don't have the patience for all that polishing! I think Go with a bit of show is a good balance. Your is going to look cracking with the black interior. I had a Burgundy valver with Black leather and 17" BBS. I still think it was the best looking car I've ever had.

Mmmmmmmm man you are upping the stakes here..... I'm going to need to get some gold plated seats next! ;)

Got my home made gauge mount in today, fairly painless job for once! Green illumination matches the dash really well. Still not polished her yet. Paint is a week old so ready to wax tomorrow! -

Mate, if you we're nearer I would take em! Any chance you could hold them until the RR day at stealth at the end of this month? I'm driving down South for that. -
Good work James, Black is the best colour by far. I had a mushroom interior on my Khaki one and hated it

My final attempt to make a working car! 3.2 24v Rado

Hey Chris, How did you get on with your cut down engine mount, have you tried it yet? I ask as I've bought a Renshaw special for the Rear and a second hand VT mount for the gearbox (car already has a VT front) My charger touches the bonnet foam under hard acceleration and I'm worried about denting the bonnet so by changing the mounts, I hope to reduce the movement but I am also considering shaving 10mm off the rear mount to hopefully gain me 5mm at the charger. -
Hmmmm looking forward to seeing what you've got hidden away for next year's shows :)

Took the car in for full geometry today. He put it on the Hunter system and basically my home setup was spot on, he asked me how I did it and I showed him "tilt meter" on my iphone, I put a strip of wood against the wheel face from top to bottom vertically, then placed my phone against it. Only my tracking was off as I'd corrected the camber. Rear has a bit more camber than he liked at -1.4 but he said that's just due to lowering. If I raise it a bit they will straighten up. So £29.50 ;) Iphone for the win!

Hi Vince, how would these pair up with a V9 charger?
