Agree with this one Rams and pretty much what I do. C lives in the garage and I drive it to work once a week if the weather is nice, maybe take the wife and kids up to the coast on a Sunday. It goes to the car shows, and some times I use it in anger to de-stress :) To old and fragile for a daily and when it breaks I can take my time as it lives in the garage and I have a MK7 golf as a daily. You may as well keep it, buy another car then come back to it when enthusiasm returns. I'm always falling in and out with mine :)

Cheers Kev, still chasing an illusive 1psi of boost that I sometimes don't get. The gauge gets to 5psi (should be 6) but other times it gets all the way to 6 :(
-
No mine is just a 6psi kit, no need for pump and injectors. Oil temps never get above 110c due to being up North....natural oil cooler :)
-
Vac at idle will also tell if it's leaking so getting the idle vac readings from another car at cold and warm will help :)
-
Thanks, still getting the issue of seeing 5psi and not 6psi on occasions. Not sure if that is just the way it is, or if I have a boost/vac leak Belt is as tight as I dare so don't think it is slippage.
-
Cheers Rams, do you have a boost gauge? Just interested to see what vacuumed you are getting at idle. Mine is about 15-16 when cold and then rises to 19 once warm.
-
Watching with interest as I think I also goosed my MAF on Friday with the jet washer :(
-
Also, to do pillars down only is cheaper. Mine had original paint on the roof and C pillars that was fine so only had it painted from bottom of windows down, and some cunning blending on the C pillars. Looks spot on. Ron

Pm me payment details please mate

Sorry to pipe in but where are the roof gutter trims available from in Germany? Thanks

Sad day as another Corrado, mine, gets written off

Foooking hell, that was a close call! It's sad when it happens but you are alive and should mend in a few weeks, think of yourself as lucky rather than unlucky :( -
Hi Kev, Basically mine has the charge pipe going into the straight part of the DV and then the L bend off the side vents back into the intake side of the charger. Like this

Hang on a moment? My DV is the other way around from that one....would that be an issue?

The only car from the 80's era that I had that I think truely was/is awesome, was my E30 325i with BMW MS LSD.....that car did everything well, fun (check), fast (check), cool (check), practical (check), reliable (check) If modern BMWs were like the old ones, I would never buy any other brand.....shame they lost their direction once we got to the end of the 90's

I have the same fear mate, my filter is down in the corner of the front bumper (passenger side) I just don't drive the car in the wet :) not the best solution though. Been wondering what could be done for some time now but no obvious solution comes to mind.
-
Cheers guys, you've overall come to the same conclusion I have. The mk4 wheels are the only ones that look natural on the car, also fit the best with no rubbing or need for spacers ;)

I tried the clay bar on the roof and all that crap comes off easy, I've also cleaned up all the rubber bits and cleaned the interior now. -

This one has 156K, 2 owners from new (I am no 3) It does have some scabby bits on the bodywork which is why I'm going to re-spray and is also the dirtyest car I have ever had to sit in :) -

Hey folks, for all the people that pitched in some ideas.....thanks and and I finally bought a car for this challenge. It is an E38 728i "Individual" which was a bespoke order from BMW in that it has the 2.8i M52 engine but with all the Sport goodies that were only available on the 740i Total cost in 1998 = £62,000 total, total cost in 2013 = £500! Going to paint it in Satin Black military paint, DIY job as I've always wanted to try painting a whole car Suprisingly, I've done 200 miles in it so far and everything apears to work....just has some coolant leaks (craked thermo housing) and front disks and pads are on the limit. Also needs new drivebelts as they are really worn -
I've got the C plus...... Golf MK7 GT TD Fabia Monte Carlo TDI BMW E38 728i "individual" bought for £500 to do a charity rally to france next year

Sure, figured you'd rather not talk money publicly :) £280?
