  1. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. So apparently any VR6 54 calliper will do the job. Anyone? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Need a calliper for my mk2 which is running 280mm G60 brakes I think both 16v and Vr6 are the same but to be sure. Mine says Lucas 54 on it Anyone have one? Can't believe I need one as I chucked a pair away last year as I couldn't shift em :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Ok mate, I can see that the hub issue is a real issue but I will say that the adapter pipe that is twisted is very easy and cheap to make. It sound like rather than knowing how to make these parts, you are trying to buy them as kits and so people are having your pants down. Now obviously James has some explaining to do..... but don't make that adapter pipe out to be more than it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Isn't that just a piece of copper pipe with a brake fitting at each end that is twisted? If so then there is £3 of parts there and 5 mins with a brake pipe flaring tool Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. It was a bit of a Frankenstein to be fair. Hubs may have not been from a VR Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Anything to do with Clumpys car having been a G60 originally? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. 288s from an mk3, much better than the 280s as the calliper/pad area is much bigger but they fit even the 15"s Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. My VR is way quicker through the gears (over 200bhp) but on a B roads (I have a route I time my cars on) the GT D is faster. Quickest car around that route is my Mk2 GTI track car which is stripped and caged at about 900kg and has a 150bhp race spec 2.0 8v. Mainly as it handles like a go cart..... Slowest on my B route is my 500bhp S4 as it handles like a boat :D and you can't unleash the full 500bhp on those little roads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Even my MK7 Golf GT D is faster than the VR6. It may be only 150bhp but the diesel delivery and handling are miles ahead of a 23 yr old car Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. No it's fine mate, it's not that low at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks for the kind words folks. Still loving this car after almost 4 years. Wheels are 16"s but with 215/40 tyres which I think makes them look bigger. The 17 RH ZW1s looked phat :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Cheers mate. Wheels are BBS RX226 which are the golf mk3 anniversary wheels. Engine hasn't changed much. Shrick VGI, stealth map, BMC, Miltek exhaust. Nothing too crazy but it drives very well. Got a 16v final drive to go in but have no reason to mess with the car at the moment :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks chaps, while I was back here to tonight, I re-read the last 4 years of updates in this thread. Soooooo much work has gone into this car.......not to mention the ££££s! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Jesus, just realised that I haven't posted for almost a year! Well, I've basically been busy with other projects and just enjoying the raddo once it was "finished" I've built an mk2 track car which I hugely under estimated :) Anyway, few camera phone snaps as the Corrado stands today. Main change has just been the wheels, now on BBS RX226 as the RH ZW1s looked the nuts but needed quite a lot of upkeep and cleaning due to being split rims, I just could not be arsed :) The ZW1s are for sale! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Me too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I used that too, goes on great and still rubbery after 18 months Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I haven't fitted mine yet so I'll have some clips too when you have them please
  19. Hi, just and update on this. I managed to source an engine nearby with 60k on it so I won't been needing this, but thanks for replying!
  20. Cool, not a million miles from me so could be a the option I'm after. I'll pm you shortly!
  21. Thanks for getting back. What miles and where abouts are you? Are you able to see the bores? I ask as my 2E has a big fat ledge at the top from wear :(
  22. Bottom end has had it in my mk2 and a 2.0 block will work
  23. I've had bits from Tomi as well, no issues at all
  24. Hello matey, it's been a while since you've been in here! Sorry to hear you are selling up....me and fuzzer were just talking about getting another North East meet sorted as the last one was great fun :)
