  1. I think you need to donate to the forum......cash not the car! :)
  2. I used to be into firearms but after a few "hiccups" with the law, I'm not really allowed them anymore. As for Knives, people have tried to stab me a few times.....missed, thankfully! But a mate I was working with was stabbed in the chest, punctured his lung. Blood came out like a hose pipe! One of the girls that worked with us stuck her fingers in the hole until the paramedics arrived....he only just survived. Amazes me how quick people are to use knives these days.....life has become so cheap! :(
  3. I'm not allowed anything sharp!:confused4:
  4. Anyone who puts giant sub woofers in car boots should be buried alive in them! lol ......it's a car not a mobile disco.......listen to the sound of that engine......pure music!
  5. I would want them to pay me to enter London!
  6. I've always thought it looked like a 1970s Austin Allegro estate!.......ugly!
  7. No worries mate, it's enough consolation to know you will get it to a great standard. :)
  8. Now I have sold mine the prices will soar! I'm pretty good at buying on a high and selling at the bottom of the market.....Its sort of the midas touch in reverse!
  9. If you have HIDs fitted you will need this to pass the MOT after April 1st.
  10. Keep it as a valver! Do some tuning work, add a supercharger? I could be wrong but if you swap to a vr6 engine you will lose the aircon as I reckon it's different on the vr???
  11. There's at least one on ebay
  12. I have no idea what it's called, take a pic and post it on here, I guarantee you will have an answer pretty quick.
  13. I reckon by the time you have finished it will be up there with the best. I would have liked to do it myself, it's hard having to be sensible about the near future and what I have to make time for. I can't ship too many cars across the world :(
  14. I'm not 100% but I think it's that valve I mentioned with the tape on. It had been fitted badly and was leaking air, I found it and after taping it up it cured the problem almost fully. Just as you say having to hold the throttle for a few minutes. The tape I used was not sticky and so is still leaking air a little.
  15. Good idea to wait untill the winter is over, sounds a good price too. Will be nice to see the end result.
  16. I could relieve you of the burden of some of that cash in exchange for a Schrick manifold! lol
  17. Thankfully that doesn't happen too often! I shredded a tyre on my Landcruiser on a desert road in outback WA. As I worked on the wheel change another 4x4 pulled up to offer assistance, a hundred or so miles from anywhere. Another time I pulled into a rest area on Pacific Highway 2 hours north of Sydney. My Ford Gt V8 was behaving very strange at the rear, one tyre was ready to burst with a massive "egg" on it. As I changed the wheel several people stopped to offer help. People who get into trouble usually only have themselves to blame. A German couple who got their 4x4 stuck in desert sand paid a high price when after several days, one died before rescue arrived. The rescue team simply lowerd the tyre pressures and drove the vehicle out! The most amusing one to us was the guy from the Uk who got lost on foot in the Blue mountains not too long ago, a couple of hours drive from Sydney. He got a around $200,000 for his story from the news papers. The whole thing was a pile of bulls*it if you ask me, I know the area he was "lost" in very well, he said he was starving to death. There's a McDonalds a short walk from where he was!
  18. I'm with you on the Speedmaster Jim, I almost bought one in Hong Kong airport about 4 years ago.....£700 !!! Wish I had now.
  19. One hour left on the auction and this looks cheap. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250961138694&category=38786&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619
  20. If you have HID headlights fitted it looks like you will need to fit washers and a self leveling system by April, or you will fail the mot.
  21. Totally agree Omega "whispers" quality........Rolex "Shrieks" fake!
  22. I wonder how they would account for the road death rate in Australia? Most places have a 110kph limit, that's around 68mph and it's rigidly enforced. Every night on the news reports of road deaths, public holiday weekends they keep a running total! First hint of rain and there's cars arse end first into the scenery, wet slippery roads and no one slows down! It's not exactly speed, it's failing to drive correctly in the conditions. Although I do like Clarkson's view that it's not speed that kills......it's suddenly becoming stationary!
  23. Must have been the same copper I met some years ago. I had a mk2 Scirocco gti at the time. 3am and I was doing a little over a ton in a 30 zone (oops)! I spotted him in a side street, hit the brakes and by the time he pulled me over I was doing 30. We chatted for half an hour about VW's, he had a mk1 Scirocco. His parting line was "I know there's no one around at this hour but slow down a bit"! No ticket!
  24. Nice car, I looked at it when it was first for sale and my offer of £5,500 was turned down. Needed some tlc, good to see you are getting it sorted.
