Popped by my local VW/TPS parts counter today to get an oil filter for the G60 (like I have done many times previously) only to be told it's 'no longer carried' by VW and 'no replacement available' (the guy showed me this on his computer screen). Anyone else been having trouble with this? I always thought it was the same filter as fitted to some more modern vag cars??

thanks for that :) Just ordered the same but with black hoses I'm guessing that once the intercoolers on, the pipework's pretty easy?

Hi, I have a golf g60 intercooler and u bend set up that i'm looking to fit very soon :) My only issue is with the pipework from the intercooler outlet to the inlet manifold. What pipes do i need? Ive seen the bar tek golf g60 kits but they look different to other similar setups ive seen on corrados and don't want to order the wrong parts! Could anybody with this setup already tell me what parts/pipes you used? And any pictures of the install would be a massive help too :) Many thanks Pete

Jabbasport :) Can't recommend them enough and probably the nicest and most helpful people i've ever dealt with at a garage. Their website's a little out of date and currently being remade apparently so probably best to phone them for current prices etc. Mines been back several times for various bits and they've always gone to the ends of the earth to help out! Even picked up and delivered my car back to me a few times even though i'm about an hours drive away!

My G60 seems to take forever to get up to temp. It has a mocal oil cooler fitted so the oil temp rarely gets over 90 but some days it wont even get up to 80 on the 16mile run to the office??? The oil cooler was fitted before i bought her so im wondering if the MOCAL sandwich plate fitted is working properly or whether or not i have the plate without the thermostat fitted. The previous owner said it was the 'thermostatic' jobbie but im begining to doubt this. If mine wasn't the thermostatic one, does anyone know if this would cause the oil temp to be low? I guess as the oil is always flowing thru the cooler? Does anyone else run a mildly tuned raddo with a 13row mocal? What kind of oil temps do you see? Another problem is the water temp gauge rarely moves off 70 unless stuck in traffic. I've only ever seen it go up to about 85-90 and this goes back down to 70 once moving again. The temp sender is a new vag one. I vaguely remember the previous owner saying something about a lower temp thermostat being fitted so if this was say a 70degree thermostat, could that be the cause? Its just strange that although all the gauges suggest the engines running cool, i really don't think it is. I know g60 run pretty hot anyway but i always get that 'warm' smell when i pull up and sometimes can feel the heat coming off the engine when i get out. I've done a few long runs in her before (200miles or so) and never had any problems with overheating, just its something that's always been at the back of my mind as not being right Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks Pete

I'm interested in the baffled sump if it's still available? :) -
Yea definitely worth looking at especially if it's still the original. After 20 or so years the insides of mine had completely disintegrated! Hope that sorts your problem buddy :) worth doing the fuel filter while your at it too
-
surely someone with a g60 must know this? Or be able to pop out and have a look under their bonnet for me? pleeeeeeease :)

I had a similar problem on my g60. Put it on the rolling road at Jabba and discovered it was underfueling dangerously on full throttle, and making little over 100bhp! First we replaced the fuel pump which made a big difference but didnt entirely fix the problem. We then replaced the injectors for brand new larger ones which solved the issue and it made 194bhp :)

Does anybody know which wire should go to which terminal on my ignition coil? I broke down the other day and the recovery man obviously left all the cables unplugged, so now i've got a replacement to fit, i don't know which goes where! There's a green cable and a black cable. I've metered them and get around 12v between the black one and earth when the ignition is on. So am i right in thinking that the black one goes to terminal 15 (+) and the green one to terminal 1 (-)? Thanks in advance :)

if they're early ones i'll take them :)
