Lots of nice words at the MOT station about how good the car was. Couldn't believe how clean it was!
-
Wiped the car over ready for the MOT, going over the brake lines that were rusty on the last one! Drove her in the rain which is the first time in ages! Got the MOT with the same advisories.
-
Alty, that's great! I've never been to the museum or the AGM! See you at the Buck. I'd offer a lift but will be stopping off to see my step dad on the way back.
-
Anyone else going from the south? I'm meeting Kev on the A303 at The Buck services at 10am. SP11 6NJ. Plenty of time to look around before 1.

Hi. I've just had my rad replaced so I have the old one if you're interested. It is the original rad and has no faults or leaks. It has been on the car for 101k miles. Are you after the elbow? I also have a new, unused aftermarket thermostat housing - I'm just after what I paid for it. PM me if your interested and I'm happy to send photos etc. Jez

Nice! You booked in for the National day yet J ?

Hi Daren.
Some stuff re Monday.
What time can I drop the GNU off?
In that turning with all the chalets, is you garage obvious?
Can I come back Tuesday to give the fan housing a quick hatchet job with some paint?
I have;
Lower grill
Radiator
Thermostat and thermo sensor
Thermostat housing
Oils cooler seals
Crack pipe
Upper and lower manifolds
Throttle body gasket
Gaskets X 2 for manifolds
Stainless bolts and washers for manifolds
Anodised bolts for elbow
Gruven elbow
Stainless radiator cover screws
Stainless rad side cowl screws
A plastic cover for some wires at the front (easy for with rad out!)
I think that's it. I can't see the dining room table!
Cheers
Jez

Phil. I'm thinking of driving up on Friday night from Dorset to a b&b. Hope to be camping Saturday night. Do the cars stay put or get moved to camping area? In other words, how secure are they?! -
Pretty sure it's 3rd April at Gaydon and I think it's 1pm but best check on that!
-
Certainly one for the AGM and ties in nicely with membership in general.

There was a stored (possibly 16v) grey Corrado in London for 1k. Would have been interested if I had the space. It had about 170k miles, black leather and Borbets? There's a couple of bits on it if the new owner is breaking! Pm me if you are!!

I have seen a few posts on there but I think they need to ramp it up a bit. Are you a CCGB member and do you use the site?

Hi Ron, Here's some questions! The upper and lower manifold are coming off and I wanted to replace the bolts with stainless. Are they 8x30 cap bolts and do I need 17 to do upper and lower manifolds? Second. I've had a go at polishing the manifold. I'm not too happy with the finish between the six ports. If I were to paint this, I assume I'd need a heat-proof paint? Third. I've got hold of the gaskets for the upper and lower manifold. Are there any others I need? Is it the throttle body that connects to the upper manifold? Can't remember? Do you know if there's another gasket needed? Cheers in advance Jez

This is the other part that works on my late VR6. There's a smaller connector for the Inlet Air Temperature sensor - normally this is screwed into the passenger side of the upper inlet manifold, but here it gets very hot due to engine temperature being conducted in through its metal case. Moving it lets the ECU measure inlet air temp more accurately, and as colder air is more dense it will add more fuel and slightly increase horsepower. http://forums.fourtitude.com/showthr...n-VR6-manifold Your stock IAT sensor has the same plug, so you can just unplug it and extend the two wires. Or leave it as it is and just use the MAF portion! Have a look at the photos for condition. £60 + £7 post or happy to combine with the elbow. Can send more images.

This part replaces the fragile elbow that sits above the MAF. It's in really good condition. I bought it not so long ago and was going to fit it but aesthetically it's not working for me so I just need to move it on! The metal has a blueish/grey paint finish and that's the way it came to me. If you want further detail then this is similar. http://www.ngpracing.com/newstore/42-draft-designs-mk3-vw-gti-jetta-vr6-passat-b3-b4-vr6-corrado-vr6-intake-pipe.html You'll not be paying hefty import tax etc. Price is £60 + £7 postage. I also has an ally MAF up for sale and I'm happy to combine postage.

Same failed error
-
Well, I went to read your message in Tapatalk and it failed. Now I'm completely puzzled. Am I supposed to alter Tapatalk settings or what? I'd never heard of Cloud fare until now!
-
Any joy in getting this fixed? It's still playing up. I have been "contacting" them as suggested which has the error logs. I'm rarely on my Mac, just the iPhone so it's really useful to be able to use the ap rather than head to the web site etc.
