Nearly back on the road , its in garage now have a its new g/box and clutch fitted yay !!!

I've just found a recon one for 495 , think i'm gonna go for that piece of mind , new clutch and chains aswell i think

As title really just spoke to garage this morning and my g/box is fooked!

Turns out my gearbox is fooked!! Any one know of any where i could grab one ? would a mk3 vr one fit? any advice would be good as i'm banging my head against a wall.

In the past i've disconnected one, the car ran rich and idled . I used lec clean (electrical component cleaner) and just make sure it was dry before re-installing and starting. Clean the throttle body with some carb cleaner?

My mate had a similar problem on his mk2 gti 8v , got a new maf and worked fine again. have you tired cleaning the maf ? or just try disconnecting it see what happens?

Cheers for the advice just got it booked in for a clutch change 500 sheets didn't think too bad considing the amount of work and it comes with 2 year warranty. Would of done it myself but i have limited garage space.

Thanks for the advice, further to add i've just been having a play to see if i could spot anything, and when the engine is off i can move into gears freely but not reverse. Also when engine running i placed my hand hand on the cover plate on the gearbox it feels bloody aweful , something is rattling around in there. Clutch feels fine tho noise goes when pressing pedal?

After spending what has seemed like forever waiting for bits for my rad, but it all back together i was driving along just fine and then on selection of third gear and accelerate strange noise from engine bay. Kinda like a clicking/flapping sound only in third? This morning just popped to the garage got there fine , pulled out and the most hurrendous sound followed by no drive and gear stick is stuck in neutral as i put there . Managed to select fifth , and coasted home with the noise now even louder . Noise goes on pressing of clutch pedal , and is present at idle in neutral. Air in system ? fooked g/box ? I'm outta ideas on this one , oh its a 93 vr Cheers in advance !!

Finally finished the job today shiney new Gruven parts , rad elbow fitted no leaks !!!. I've read people have said that the after market rads operate at different temps / flucuanting temps etc... just a note to add that my new rad from gsf , which is a south american one is fine operates as the original with regards to temp . It is however a little thinner ?

Just changed my rad , got a gsf one fitted no probs and just waiting now for my Gruven elbow as mine is broke

You can mate but its knackered, just bought one from gruven.com metal jobba

Hi all i'm after a swap , my parcel is in good nick put has holes cut by last owner and 6x9s fitted . Holes have been cut well . 6X9's don't suit my taste and would like to swap with some one with a uncut parcel self. I will include tthe speakers think they r JVC not sure if they work as no wiring in my raddo to try them. Cheers
