Yeah, dealer said shame about the wheels. :bonk:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Corrado-2-9-Hatchback-VR6-/231519458775?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35e7a295d7 Up for £3495 Looks quite good. Spoke to the dealer & car has basically been sat around for last 5 years whilst prev owners estate has been settled. Apparently starts ok but has to be warmed up a bit or else stalls when revved. MOT runs out soon so will be redone as part of sale. No rust, apparently & resprayed 6 or 7 years ago. Bit of moulding missing, not sure if spoiler raises & lowers..

The Jetex stainless seem quite popular. Not sure how much louder than standard the resonated boxes are. £400 for the entire system: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Corrado-VR6-from-Ch-No-50-N-000-0001-8-91on-Jetex-Stainless-Exhaust-Resonated-/141242134115?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20e2afee63

It's a lovely looking VR6. Good luck with the sale. I also hope you don't break it.

I think Mike plays up an awful lot for the cameras. Virtually everyone who's met him in person says what a nice bloke he is. It's the things like rapping his knuckles on pristine paintwork whilst saying "corr, ain't she in great shape", dropping keys to Ed or a potential buyer directly over the bonnet of a car & sitting on the car wearing jeans or crops that gets me. Makes my teeth itch. I still watch (and enjoy) the show though.

Is this the one in Dorset? I was tempted to make the pilgrimage but I want a more standard VR6.

If it had leather I'd be really tempted to have a look. -
Thanks mate. http://www.vw-corrado.hu/pros/004/brochure_1995-04_The_Corrado_Storm.pdf

Thanks chaps. I'm just after one that is fairly low mileage & in overall excellent/vgc, not a concourse example with 50 wins under its belt. Seen good VR6s sold for between £3000-£6000. That's the kind of car I'd like.

Hi. I have a healthy budget so if you own an excellent/vgc example, maybe want to part with it for top money & live in mainland UK then I'd be interested. I can buy immediately upon inspection & test drive if yours is the right one. My criteria are pretty simple: Standard, unmodified VR6 or Storm - don't mind Leather Interior preferred Documented evidence of timing chain/clutch replacement Any colour apart from yellow No rust. Nothing other than very minor bodywork damage Service history. At a minimum going back 5 years or so All electrics working inc. spoiler & sunroof Please PM me if interested. Many thanks.

Good luck. Just started my search for an unmolested, genuine VR6. Not many about at the moment it seems. :bonk:
-
So I take it no one's scanned them & uploaded the photos?
-
Bit of an odd one, but has anyone scanned any of the sales brochures or is willing to & then put them up? Can't find them on the site & I find this sort of thing interesting.

Cheers John. You have a PM re/servicing costs :D The owner sent a few more photos. This Storm does indeed need a bare metal respray. I replied in a very polite manner re/costings & his asking price but I'm not sure I'll hear from him again!
-
Exactly what I'm after. If you ever get bored..... ;)
-
Has a few cosmetic issues. Rusty arch, lacquer bubbling on sunroof, ding in door. Owner says he was going to get a full respray. Seemed a straightforward chap though. Not sure if I want to spend another £2k just getting one cosmetically right. Are Corrados supposed to have fairly squeaky/rattly interiors?

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201503081539919/ That looks quite nice. Too soon for me though, as I have to get a new wing fitted on the GTE before I'd sell it. Info a bit limited on a £4.5 sale.
-
Hi. Thanks - I appreciate your help. I'm really after a sub-100k manual VR6 with history. I should have mentioned that.
-
Yeah I'll keep my eyes peeled in the usual places. Sounds like you got a bargain, Ray. Did you have any nasty surprises during the first few years of ownership?
-
Looks great as it is. Will follow this thread with interest.

Looks great. Thread needs more photos though! :bonk:

Thanks for the welcome. :thumbleft: I collected my Astra from Scotland, over 500 miles away, so if I can find the right car I'm prepared to put the effort in. I suppose my budget is around £5-7k, but it would have to be something pretty special. As I say, unmolested, plenty of recent service history, 50-100k miles, all major jobs done promptly, no rust, excellent/mint interior & so on. Not fussed about the Storm edition. It would be used a daily driver not show car & I generally do between 3-6k per year. I love blasting around in the GTE, so certainly no rush getting a VR6, although a Corrado is a big fat box that has remained unticked!

Hi. Long time admirer of these & think they're fantastic. :notworthy: I currently own an Astra GTE 16v which I bought over 3 years ago as a daily driver. What would I be looking at paying for an unmodified vgc/excellent VR6 with history & fairly low (-100k) mileage? Also, are there any specialists in the West Sussex or Surrey region who deal mostly with Corrados?
