SpoonFedTuning One Piece Lower Windscreen Trim Group Buy
Redfox replied to dogger's topic in Forum Group-Buys
Hi dogger, I would like to know if the one piece windscreen trim in black carbon fiber is going to happen, and how much I will have to pay in total to have it shipped to Denmark? (G60, 1991, left hand drive). Cheers, Redfox. -
Window Rollers Group Buy: A few sets left
Redfox replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in Forum Group-Buys
So will there be a next time? Mine are really rattleing, and i have to wind up and down all the tiem to get a little less rattleing. Still interested and will pay what is needed to get four new ones. Cheers, Redfox. -
I did that too yesterday, but it's not adjustable, and was already tight. Good ideas are most wellcome! Cheers, Redfox.

I would like to ask what you or others did then, to compensate for the increasing gap. Weld on some suitable rings? I may be wrong on this, but it appears to me, that adjusting the horns bolted to the bumper iron, will adjust the height from below the headlights, to the top of the bumperskin. What i need to do is minimize the airgap between the bumperskin on each side, and the lower edge of the side fenders. As the bumpers slide onto the black plasticholders on each side, they seem to be at a fixed point. My height between the headlights and bumpersking is just perfect. But the airgaps on each side is too much, looking real ugly. What to do? Cheers, Redfox.

Hi all, Wondering if anyone ever tried a Wiechers aluminium bar for strenghening the wheel geometry, sitting front lower? Did it make a difference? I think at least it should, as the way the wheels are hanging on a Golf, Corrado etc, are a little weak´from factory. I would prefer aluminium over steel. Any experiences on this? Cheers, Redfox.

A Sunday mod: I managed to buy a new black lower grille for the front bumper, as the one on the car is heavily broken by stones hitting it. Anyway, here's a few pics: Lights off, blinkers and fog's off, 4 bolts underneath off, temp. sensor off and then PULL the bumperskin each side and retract the bumper, and placed it on some blankets, then mounting horns off and airducts for intercooler and brake: Prise off the bashed grille, and lube the new one to get on smoothly. Coppergrease all bolts and then reverse all. Cleaned up temp wires and connector to ensure proper future functionality. Cleaned up the intercooler while being at it. Had to adjust the mounting horns to get it alligned as before to fenders and front: Jobs done. Then I bled ½ a liter of brake fluid through the brakes and got the last bubles out (I hope). Cheers, Redfox.

Hi all, Thinking if I had some spare g-ladders and if I had the needed new spares, would it then be possible to renovate them myself? Cheers, Redfox.

I second that of MarkFoster, as I have the same, and they a really light. So much that you have to lift them compared to another set of 17! * 7,5" to really believe it. Great quality and ball polished too. OZ ultraleggera may be as light? Compomotive in magnesium, but they have an expirery date and is very sensitive to weather. Updated engine bay as of today: Didn't put back rubbers before making this snap shot. Cheers, Redfox. ---------- Post added at 12:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:46 AM ---------- Really strange, as this was double posted... ?? Cheers, Redfox.

A Saturday mod: I finally got myself together, and the weather too, and decided to install my Eibach strut tower bar. Before: First I took off the abs cableing and the small cableholders on each side. Then lay dow the Eibach bar, and see how it would fit. As it seemed okay, I took a small minigrinder and cut off the holders on each tower, and then smoothened it with the same machine: Then it was time to drill holes after I had punched some marks, and I used a 3.5mm, 5mm, 6mm and 8mm. cleaned up holes: Then clean it up and mask it before painting: Then I cleaned it all up with some chemical, painted it with rustproofing, then some layers of Flash Red: Then I took some stainless bolts, nuts and washers, and put them on, rustfroofed, after having taken one wheel off at a time. Here's the finished result: Took a spin afterwards, and it is for sure more surefooted in turns. Great adition to the driving experience ;) Well chuffed :smug: Cheers, Redfox.

Hi all, I've a KW v1 Inox line coilovers on my G60 1991, and have seen a picture of one with KW adjustable topmounts. Can they be had and should one drill holes in the strut tower, and can it be combined with an Eibach strut tower bar? Cheers, Redfox.

Nice! Thanks. Cheers, Redfox :smug:

HI all, I got the idea of looking into the service mode on the MFA on my G60 1991. I do the usual dial 2, press, turn key, let go, press once, and voila, there is the pressure on the G-ladder. So far so good. But what does the other stuff mean? First: - "1728", after a few seconds: " C10". then: - boost -e.g. "500" in idle. then: - rpm - e.g. "797" in idle. then: - oilpressure? - e.g. "1,7" and rising when giving gas. then: - ?? - "0"- then: - oiltemp? - e.g. 50 and rising to say "102". then: - ?? - "18" rising to say 24". that's all I can see. Anyone knows what it is and what can be had/made out of it? Cheers, Redfox

small update, Thanks for the nice words. Took wheels off early in the morning, and looked carefully at brake calipers, hoses, banjos etc. No leaks. Found out that it was some spilled chain oil spray from a friends XTZ750 yam on the ground, Pew, silly me... :bonk: Still satisfied that I have no leaks. Still need to flush more brake fluid through, as it shows overfilled in the container when stopped, and exactly to the max line, when driving/braking. Also have to pump pedal some times before starting engine, to get the hard pedal back. Grrrr, was just fine before I changed brake fluid, so it seems I have introduced some air into the system. It seems that I should have lifted the rearwheels before opening valves on calipers. Got a new package of yellow Powerflex bushes from England (the first package was incorrect made). This time they are exactly alike all four. Top service and response. Can only recommend them :smug: Now I need to give the eyebolts for the front arb some layers of clear coat to protect them further before fitting them. Now it is five weeks since I ordered a new liscense plate holder at a local dealer, who in turn have to get it from Classic Parts in Germany. Quite slow I'd say. But the one who waits patiently will get it... I hope ;) Well, to be honest I am not in a hurry, and since it's fall, despite a few nice sunny days, I'll soon put the Corrado away and tuck it in, soon, usually in end of October. Changed the screws behind front blinkers to stainless ones. Changed a few nuts on the alternator to stainless, while still having to sort that aluminium and a small cableholder... ;) I would like one in stainless. Installed some nice brackets from Dave, and here's one on the radiator in stainless. Then moved on to install the stainless bracket for holding down the central plastic under the handbrake, so it does not pop up all the time. Works a treat, and sits really nice. Thanks Dave. First measure up and drill: Then drill the floor and make a thread: Then add it on: Then tighten it all down and enjoy: Cheers, Redfox.

Very nice! ps John: did you have any problems installing that Eibach struyt tower bar (sorry to be ot)? Cheers, Redfox
-
Nope. Never saw that. Cheers, Redfox.
-
Came home late, so only had time to wash and wax. Cheers, Redfox.

Washed the Corrado and waxed it after. Did some corners too with grain 11000 polishing fluid. When I pushed my Corrado back in the garage, I discovered that it had peed on the ground. A nice spot of brake fluid. Got to take wheels off tomorrow and look for failure. If nothing else, you got to admit a Corrado have some personality, and they often get away with it! Managed to peel off some ugly Blaupunkt code stickers. They surely sit well glued. And I managed to repair my Tandberg 3014a cassette player ;) Really great! Cheers, Redfox ;)

Nice! Cheers, Redfox.

Hmmm, thanks, but a lot more needs to be done. I want to sort the aluminium out, by ballblasting it in some sort of way, and then eloxide it (or whatever it is called in English), without getting any internals contaminated (read: G-ladder and altenator). Maybe someone have some ideas? This way we could easily keep it nice over the long run ;) Cheers, Redfox.

Hi Gothmolly, That 50 dollar trick would bring you right in front of a judge where I come from... ;) What does your mfa read? Or bar meter if installed? Cheers, Redfox.

they come in various sized. both the plaatic cover (hard), and the soft bag that wrap around. Cheers, Redfox.

I just bought my G60, so did not really do anything yet, apart from giving it a good scrub, stainless bolts, nuts and washers every time I undo something, a battery plastic cover, a battery soft bag (to keep heat and cold out), and a couple of Dave's nice brackets for holding the radiator. Will do more in wintertime though. New battery bracket,a s old one was rusty as usual. Samco's a point of debate it seems, but I guess they work okay, just get the right clamps. Other bracketry such as the one on the plastic cover over the G-ladder/altenator and the one on the ignition coil will either be powercoated silver together with radiator fan cover plus others, or be in stainless steel. Wintertime... On my former Golf Mk II I had the big sounddeadening underneath, and it kept my engine compartment completely clean for 12 years. No need to scrub and no nothing. I wish that could also be installed on the Corrado. Maybe someone here knows anything about that? I also add a Eibach tower stryt for the sake of more stiffness - faster cornering. Did not drill it in yet, as I need to find a propper way of fitting abs wireing etc. I also added a Golf Mk. II scuttle cover (the long one), which fits after a little cutting. Plus a Passat wipermotor cover, flipped around. Fits perfectly. Will powercoat the bracketry for the wiper in ... wintertime ;) New coolant expansion bottle, plus a diversuty of covers too. Lightens up and make it look more like it's supposed to. Not old and yellow. So all in all I go for standard plus improvements, not a total makeover for the sake of looking different, but each to his own of course. It's the little things that when you ytake a more detailed look at the engine compartment, makes for a nice impression and functionality too, and striving to have everything in it's propper place, not hanging all over. My tube for a bar meter is not in it's propper place yet ;) Not there yet but .... Big stereo wires and fuses etc. is not really me, so will avoid that ;) Is your system a cat back or incl. a banana manifold? How is sound and power? Cheers, Redfox.
