Hi - The starter on my 1.8 16v is on the way out & I was wondering if it's the same part on other VW's incase I decide to pick one up from the scrap yard. e.g(Do MKII Golfs/Passats etc use the same starter?) Other question is has anyone any idea how much they are brand new from VW? Thanks for any help guys

g12 plus plus (thats 2 pluses)
belfastfumanchu replied to belfastfumanchu's topic in Suppliers Forum
Cost me 8 quid for 1.5 litres ! Im sure I paid about 4 quid for the old stuff. -
Does anyone know what the deal is with this new G12 Plus Plus coolant? I bought some today before I realised it was different. Its double the price of ordinary G12 Plus coolant. Is it suitable for my 91 16v Corrado?

Fitting new radiator on 16v - easy job?

Expansion tank hose pipe - where can I buy it?
belfastfumanchu replied to belfastfumanchu's topic in Suppliers Forum
Boost if you havent sent that hose pipe yet would you still mind sending it even though my old one wasnt the prob after all. I snipped a few inches off the end of it so your old OEM one would still come in handy. -
Fitting new radiator on 16v - easy job?
belfastfumanchu replied to belfastfumanchu's topic in Engine Bay
About £120 oh well, I suppose thats what I expected. The stupid little end on the top left of the radiator (where the expansion tank hose joins) seems to have cracked on mine. New radiator seems my only choice. -

Out of interest what did you pay for new radiators? -
I think I may need to change my radiator as the plastic seems to be cracked where the expansion tank hose connects to it. Just wondering how big a job it is from anyones who done it before? Anything to look out for etc ?

Does anyone know if any of these wires would be responsible for the warning light on the dashboard for when youre low on coolant? Green/Red - Yellow/Red - Blue/White - Green/Black ?? Also....i've noticed there is a Grey/Black wire running out from the passenger area (kind of below and behind the expansion tank). Could someone please have a look at theirs and tell me where it connects to? :D I really need to know which ones for the coolant warning as it should be flashing on my dash right now and it isn't.

I was thinking that, but then I thought does it have to be a special kind of rubber that can handle hot temperatures? The scardy cat in me is ruling my common sense and I don't want to take any chances. So just whatever rubber I can find that looks similar in thickness should do the job you think ? ***Just reading your latest post there.........has your OEM one been used? -
In this old pic I took a while ago you can see a black and red hose attached to the expansion tank. This pipe runs down directly onto the top of the radiator. I need a new one as it has developed a leak. My VW dealer says they cost 70 quid but the place they get them from has them on back order and it could be months beore it's available. It was too late in the evening for me to phone GSF or Euro car parts, but does anyone know if they even sell them or anywehere else that would?

I must be really poor too lol. Id look no further than a Saxo or 106 for a run around car. -
Fit my new roof strips which I bought 8 months ago. I just keep putting it off for some reason - this weekend for sure.

Get your Corrado at all costs, but if you're worried about money then also buy a little small car like a 106 or a Saxo to nip back in forth in. You'll soon save the extra cost in insurance and tax etc if youre doing a big mileage. Say youre getting 55 - 60mpg in a diesel 106 or Saxo. You're saving 50% in your fuel bill for each journey!
