  1. Thanks for the reply. I guess any grease should really do the trick then or should I specificaly use that spray grease that you mention? ? I was a bit concerned about putting grease on it and things sticking to the grease and then getting the cable messy.
  2. Hi - pretty simple question, but nothing in the search for it. When you fit a new accelerator cable should you also lube it and if so what is best to use?
  3. Thread Ressurection I've got same prob now - going to get a blue cap and hopefully it will do the trick.
  4. Does anyone know where sells K&N oil and K&N air filter cleaner? I tried in Halfords & a local car shoppy and they didn't have any.
  5. How much is the refurb costing?
  6. Hideous - taken part of a pontiac trans am and glued it on !
  7. Maybe in a few years when we all have microchip thingys in our cars for the insurance companies to track our mileage it will easier to find out how many C's there are. Maybe.
  8. Perhaps somebodies nibbled your dipstick
  9. Rado Steve, thats the first time I heard anyone suggesting that using a new loom such a qpeng might not be the bets option to take. Can anyone elaborate more regarding the positives and negatives of changing the loom when swapping engines.
  10. Same thing is it not? The 1.8T's have 20 valves.
  11. How often should you change the fuel filter?
  12. I think it all comes down to personal choice. Could cost anywhere between 3-5k for a 1.8T conversion. An engine rebuilds going to be considerably less than that. Them 1.8T's dont take much effort to put out 280-300hp though.
  13. I was arsing around there and posted a reply showing you the bypass valve here http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 076#670076
  14. Heres a pic of a brand new bypass valve. Its fited to the coolant pipes just before they pass through the bukhead. Theres a couple of arrows on the metal part of it.
  15. Do you get heat for the first 10 mins or so until the engines warmed up and then it goes cold ? If so then change your bypass valve.
  16. What the heck, I didn't see the date on this thread. I thought you only just bought the car. I don't think it's too easy getting 200bph (ish) from any of the 16v's without putting on turbo's or chargers. I'm opting for a 1.8T engine conversion shortly & I hear (hear is the operative word) east coast customs in Lisburn is a good place to go for conversions/tuning etc. The owner apparantly has owned a couple of Corrados in the past & he may be able to give you a few ideas on how to get to your desired 200hp mark.
  17. She looks superb - spotless. The wheels look pretty good on her I think.

  20. I was getting terrible mpg and I noticed one of the fuel injectors was so loose that you could near enough just lift it out of the engine. Technically speaking though you'd know if that was the prob as she'd be chugging whilst sucking in the air.
  21. Anyone know you'd fix a linkage problem?
  22. Is the audi tt 1.8T 6 speed gearbox 4WD? If so then if I wanted to change my gearbox to a 6 speed but keep FWD which box should i go for?
  23. Super thread, just what I was looking for :)
