  1. I'll be on the CCGB stand, with the white 16v. Jim
  2. Draper tools do a battery saver that you plug into the wall and attach leads to your battery terminals. They look like a mobile phone charger and can be had for about £20 from halfords. My 16v stands for weeks on end with this connected and always starts first time in any weather. If i recall correctly it supplies about 0.2 amps at 12v, just enough to keep the battery topped up. Worth a try Jim
  3. If you are suffering from poor starting when it is cold. Make sure you have bosch spark plugs fitted. I had the exact same problem on my scirocco and spent a fortune on diagnostics and new parts etc. as soon as i put bosch pkugs back in the problem went away. Jim
  4. John, I dont know if this helps but i have a lower one on my 16v, it is a pretty tight fit where it passes under the gearbox. In fact i had it slightly "modified" with a big hammer to make a bit more clearance. I bought mine for about £30 from performance solutions of northampton. Jim
  5. Phat, Welcome to the promised land........... Jim
  6. Having never dimantled a leter style handle, i cant be sure. To change the lock barrel on an early handle you have to remove the circlip from the back of the barrel and then ease it out without losing all the little bits. The easily recognisable differene between early and late handles is tha the late handle has a rised lip around the lock barrel on the outside. hope this helps Jim
  7. The car isnt mine, but that IS my white 16v at the back. Nice pic Jim
  8. Did you use the correct handle, there are early and late ones? some also have a small wiring loom with plug that fits into a socket halfway down the door. Check these first before spending any more money. Otherwise it could be an alarm fault. jim
  9. Just dont put them under the car like all the little to$$ers in the novas do round here! jim
  10. I thought you had superglued a taoster onto them, just in case you got a bit peckish on the way to work in the morning! Jim
  11. Try the seal around the air intake for the heater, its on the passenger side under the plastic cover. These either rot away or get so covered in leaves that they let water in. When i checked mine it had about 2lbs of good quality leaf compost around it! Mind you it didnt do the hoover much good sucking it all out!!! Jim
  12. I think i have the worlds only steam powered computer! Jim
  13. Yeah but I am sure he would move out for the greater good of the nation! After all what could make us all feel better then watching the scum of the nation all suffer as we all know they should. Jim
  14. Jezza, Change your signature, all that movement keeps messing up my mouse pointer (no idea why!) Jim
  15. Remember the film Escape from New York........ sounds like a good idea to put all the scum on the isle of wight or somewhere and just let them eat each other to stay alive............. that will teach them alright Jim
  16. I'll be there asi its only about 5 mins from home. Consequently i will be the one still rubbing his eyes because he only got out of bed 10 mins before arriving! Jim
  17. I have mine behind the front grill, then i can see that the alarm is armed as i walk away from the car. just a thought Jim
  18. The back view isnt so bad, if you paint it a decent colour. The rest is absolutely foul... Jim
  19. What else should they write across the back? Jim
  20. This is the one from GTI International Jim
  21. Having thought about it, did anyone see that lime green monstrosity at GTI international this year, if nobody has a pic, then i can supply some. I just need someone to host it. Jim
  22. I quite like the red/black/white striped one. Looks like it would look good on a race track. Jim (putting on flameproof suit as quickly as possible)
