the intercooler stays even colder oh and gets dirty :( mate i manged to drive my corrado through a ford which was upto the bottom of my fogs no probs :) its no different to having ur rad hit by water or rain
-
personally I like my set-up as all the air is from down low and flows through under the car rather than into the engine bay which best way off getting round this is to raise the back off the bonnet so heat can escape quickly dubsport 20v orange/gold car prime example of that and I think ive seen a few other’s somewhere like that. Also reason people put vents in the bonnets so air flow through the engine bay can maximised to keep things cool.
-
yep it is big and good design but imagine how much better it would work with air free flowing through all off it. you would get 100% efficiency out of it. also can someone tell me if standard VW are cold on touch and i mean really cold like mine form forge? you can keep ur hands on it for ever and doesnt get any warmer you just feel your hand getting colder and colder
-
yep i know what you mean :) I like it as whne you look in the car its not in ur face and looks clean inside but im shocked no one ever done it the way ive done it before
-
our biggest prob with the corrado lol i should think so
-
sorry appologies forgot u mentioned the 2nd air feed one option is to get the same setup as john lowering the rad ? or if your running g60 rad cant you place the airfilter to the side of the rad/front of the supercharge and have the pipe work come round and up into the charger? I cant remember what obstructions there is behind the fog light but im guessing shouldnt be a prob
-
mate easiest way is to remove the carbon canister (assuming u have one) build some kind of ram/ducting so air is forced up to the under the airfilter and youve already got the Jabba heatsheild so that should keep you happy
-
at least i was close lol p.s also your right you dont need by law front fog lights but you do need one in the rear directly behind the driver.
-
ah ok sorry i didnt mean it to sound like it was you guys (as i dont know who did it) i meant who ever original put it on great for a drag car bad for road lol
-
lol its ok mate i was just taking the urine lol i think its that german company bonnarth or something that make them they also do top hat for suspension to lover it by 10mm etc sorry really bad with names
-
yeah i remember that polo and i did think that was way OTT and could have been done better and like you mentioned you have fitted it differently behind the bumper Also reason the law pulled him over is that is a odvious metal part that is lethal to predestrian if one was to have crossed in front of him and to be honest it shouldnt have been done that way in the first place. hence why its a MOT failure to have a metal bumper on there without the plastic covering and i know in case of old cars they need to have smoothed edges or covering to protect pedestrians. I know this because best mate is a MOT tester and we went through all of silly things you see on the road
-
well donesnt have to be RS ive got a GTX lol ;) but yeah if engine tuning your things it going to be hard to stick to the original bumper, again thats very present with big powered turbo cars they all have after market bumpers or originals modified with a opening escort RS 2 boys are the best example

Whats it worth? Any ideas? (PICS ADDED)

well u better ask for "son discount" of i dont know 100% of the price ;) -
sorry but i disagree with u you can clearly see from your pictures that only 5 rows out off the 11rows you build there only have direct flow so means any boost traveling in the bottom half especially the more you go down unless you buld rams into the lower half of the bumper to direct up is not getting free flowing air. Maybe moving the numberplate away and drilling holes into the bumper and metal bracket behind is another opition for anyone wanting get the best out of a standard bumper like mention previously the easier the air can move over a object smoothly the quicker it can dispose of heat thats being soaked by the intercooler. but otherwise thats a nice piece of kit
-
nope i get a perfect view of the oil preasure and volts A/F i need to move slightly forward but thats it and at least its not in ur face even if i have other guys in the car they can see it Its a SWG item which angles the dials and i turned it to it faced me :) and yes my clocks at 16v ones as my car was original a 1.8 16v

woh that must be mint!!!! any pics? im guessing its got to be up in the £6000 - £8000 bracket but dont take my opinion not very good on the porsche side of things vr6storm on here be ur man for that :D -
totaly agree hence my point about "at some point of the foums life it has to go in that direction" anyhow i better let this return back to original topic as I dont want to start any silly thread etc I was just being curious
-
everyone has their own opinions etc and that’s a good one but there is good enough evidence in previous enthusiast forums across the world that’s sponsorship has affect the forums. These points reasons and arguments where bought up in the thread im talking about previously, cant remember it exactly as it was a while ago but Im guessing someone on here would be able to find it if need be. and this is not a dig at G-werks sponsorship as mentioned there will be other companies sponsoring this forum in future. I’m just talking about any general sponsorship for forums. But then I guess at some point of a forum’s life it needs to go in that direction.
-
ah ok thank you for clearing that up, well thats Andi's choice not my to question just suprised but not suprised (money wise) to see its goning that way. anyway ill let the thread return back to original topic sorry for the diversion
-
i put mine here and for the G60/boosted guys if they fancy a go
-
oh ok i was just wandering as I remember most of you top guys in a previous thread (ages ago) was very anti sponsorship of any kind for this forum as they prefered the way it was. dont worry just being curious you dont have to tell me i used to pay £75-£100 only to run the E1K ace cafe site every month So glad I dont have that anymore
-
yeah what is that about I thought this forum would never take sponsorship from any company to maintain it? as previosly mention when talking about funding for the forum?
-
yes it’s off the shelf forge motorsport universal jobbies IMO a lot better than any rallye intercooler etc as one doesn’t get heat soak etc form the water rad from sitting in traffic etc, means the water rad gets more flow/fresh unchanged air and lets face it the corrado hasnt got the biggest front grille so needs all the air it can get through there Also have the full face of the intercooler open to flowing air and that low will work more efficient. I would only put an Audi S2 intercooler like what JMR has done or a forger jobbies like I have done you only have to look at big powered turbo cars they all have the intercooler as far forward and open to airflow as possible not hidden behind bumper metal beams etc and only a opening the size of a letter box but that’s just my opinion. dont get my wrong a rallye one will make a differenceand with a bit of work will give the OME fit (come on they did come in a golf) but not as much a a proper newer alu ones thats available now-a-day (i touched mine yesterday and it was freezing off course weather helps) and considering mine only cost £225 do you really want to spend £300+ what those things go for?
-
here is a pic of mine using rallye outlet samco hoses JMR alu piping and standard inlet boost pipe oh and a £225 forge intercooler thats all it took heres how the engine bay looks nice and standard look and yep the wiring been tied up now :D
-
trying to sell it after all youve been through :(
