  1. yeah Vince does do the kit but if he does the 5 stud for £400 get them as ive never seen them for less than £800 only the kit ive seen for £400 is the 4 stud versions also you cant use the leon ones at the hub carriers from the mkIV range is different to the corrado ones hence why at the mo i would need to get the caliper carrier fabricate with a 6mm spacer hence my idea
  2. ok ive start a quick thread as i didnt want to complicate the official one as i have a idea for you five stud guys Wouldnt it be possible to get the discs redrilled to 5x100 using on of the original holes??? Ive seen the german do it with adptors from 4x100 to 5x100 so i can see why it wont work on the discs?? feel free to comment
  3. ive got to say its the best thing ive done to my engine :) not only is it good for vr's its helps maively with 16v and g60's best £70 i spent :) but i am thinking of upgrade to a 19 row   ben lol
  4. That's the way to go  That's the thing with the VR....might not be the best engine for NA tuning (is any?) but once you add forced induction into the equation, the power just keeps going skywards......BHP limited by only your wallet! but the worst thing is, he's not even pushing it. I think it;s producing about 9 psi where a 1.8T 20v turbo would need to push about 15+psi to produce anythign close to that. Also got to agree no-a-day'd value for moneu your better off getting a 1.8 20v turbo but i just think they are way to common
  5. wouldnt touch them if they were given to me for free mate get yourself some goodyear f1 great tryes :)
  6. Phat they are all good point which i can argue with im just saying with your car it might be different due the fact you did a few mods to it??? that was my main question p.s drivers abilties do come into it aswell :D
  7. Sorry forgot to mention and I think some people with agree with me that the 2.8 vr golf highline engine is a good one aswell and mainly down to the ECU system nd that it uses the coilpack. Ive seen golf highlines produce 190bhp so i wouldnt ignore those engines either.
  8. just to reqote what i said:- saw a few year ago a standard corrado vr lap the same times as a modified golf mkII vr, same engine but because the corrado had the better balance it was able to keep the speed through the corners better than the golf where the golf had better pick up but had to slow down for corners. the golf actually had a performance airfilter and exhuast system aswell so prob more power then the corraod but thats a guess Also Dan i know this has gone off slightly  but its interesting read in respect to positive and negatives of doing this conversion just my 2p's
  9. ok i though i would add past experience to this A guy on the Yahoo group email (Asim for those who know him) did a samco hose group buy about a year or so ago and hit a few probs the main one was samco didnt keep that many set of corrado hoses in stock so took them longer to delivery than usual only a kind word of advise for you guys :)
  10. well if you manage to get that im impressed and means you have excellent driver skills on track. The handling im talking about has nothing to do with how heavy ur engine is, im talking about 50/50 perfect weigth distribution hence my comment "to front heavy" The weight factor comes more into power to weight ratio which usually has nothign todo with handling and more straight line speed. I saw a few year ago a standard corrado vr lap the same times as a modified golf mkII vr, same engine but because the corrado had the better balance it was able to keep the speed through the corners better than the golf where the golf had better pick up but had to slow down for corners. Also wasnt ur golf race spec-ed. I.e roll caged, wider front tryes and welded?? i might be wrong im just asking as you seem to do so many races and i think i saw a pic of ur golf somewhere???
  11. yeah im getting those to due im advertising mates car over the net i just delete them :)
  12. i did look at those but sorry not them, :D but ive got to say they are very close in design ;) ;)
  13. yeah true but the drive shafts would snap 50 meters down the road and the corrado would carry on for 10 years lol
  14. in one word nope they have different connection for the switches so ull need to get the loom also heater controls are different best bet is to get everythign form one car all the loom, contros every and then it will plug straight in
  15. ive done bugger all on the car just spend money ordering the parts i need :( also hopefully if i get my finger out ill be able to get the final pics of the car on show in a couple of weeks :) also Nigel everything is being kepted secrect but i will say ive never seen a corrado with these wheels :D

    re-spray

thats is a good price mate hope you know the guys well as i did a low cost resray before and its cost me more this time because of it :(
  17. yeah yeah yeah u haventseen the rest of the wheels ;) lol  also its the first time ive gone for dished wheels so i was a bit excited lol
  18. isnt no one spotting the dish to the wheels  lol
  19. wheels lights are normal corrado ones :) also there was a corrado on deals on wheels at the mo on home and leisure
  20. I though I would tease u guys a bit more

    re-spray

mate seriously give Gary a call, he is even respraying another corrado right now :D
  22. hello for the front engine mount i would use the golf mkII 1.6 diesel unit slighty stiffer than the corrado 16v unit and the same price :) as for the airbox, remove the hot air feed from the back and remove the vacum link. Also put in a nice k&n filter and knock out the front snorkle in the box. You can drill a few holes on the rear headlamp/wing side but anymore than that u start to get hot air back into the engien which is not good also headlamp loom everyone says do it (ive got it but never fitted it lol) also engine power wise like Henny said 9A bottom end is the way to go suspension coilovers is the way to go and FK do a set which are Koni re-branded but make sure they are fully adjustable i.e. height and damping. If there are to expensive i would go for the eiback springs and koni shocks my mate has this on his car and its a very nice setup last but not least get urself some audi UR claiper carriers and youll be able to use ur calipers on g60 280mm discs and just order 16v pads for ur car :), i have this setup and works a treat ;) but if u want more breaking power i would go for the brembo 4 stud kit of a seats which at the present moment im working of a group buy for the corrado guys :)
  23. yeah sad isnt it, its growning on me to  it looks alot better in blue we should all put in £10 and buy it and put a lairy 1.8T enigne in it
  24. you know something that would make a mad 1.8T project car   know do i really need to buy a house ?!?!?!?!?!?! lol
