  1. Yes alot of people are doing its and actually im fitting a 1.8 16v head onto my mates 2L bottom end this weekend :D
  2. personally i like passats estates absolutely cheap has a dash very similar to a corrado some have nippy engines and you have enough room for a full bathroon in the back lol
  3. well if your seriously looking ot buy a house i would recomend cheap as possible to run car I would go for some jap civic etc as youll need something that you can put stuff in that back ie when your working on the house etc maybe a mkII golf or a passat or vento Trust me power and sportness wouldnt be on my mind, cheap and cheerfull would be
  4. again backing up whats said lowering isnt much of a issue as yu can even buy standard suspension items and return to normal when you do come to sell it sadly for me no return   lol especialy when i get it back from the body shop lol :D
  5. hello mate where do you get the mags?? also do you find them good for parts?
  6. hello mate my mate is running my old 17" with Koni (shocks) Eibach (springs) and im very impressed with the setup Handling has imporved 150% Ride quilty is a bit harsh when you hit something otherwise :D
  7. thats very true of EVO i would love to have a job there :D But i do disagree with your comment about The Golf. PVW is certainly the wildest body/paint and most bling bling wheels get you in there, but The golf looks at the person that owns the car i.e. MAD MAM on club gti forum who builtt and did most of the work himself on his mkI golf and full respect to him with it all. Thats why i prefer The Golf they take the person that builds the car and shows what they have creasted and thats what i believe makes up the enthusiasm for the VW world. just my 2p's worth
  8. Cool i also read Evo and Vw motoring dont touch BMW's as im kind of sick of them everyone in my area has one
  9. I say The Golf all day long :D I dont touch or even bother with PVW anymore due to their attitude and its just not me its others that have had talking's to them. The golf mag has always been true to the true dubber not like these who buy a 2nd car spend crap loads and only use it for 100 miles a year and walk away with every throphy  sorry just my 2p's worth In the end of the day build them mean & hard and drive them even harder !!!!
  10. Yeah the enthusiasm that the guys from The Golf have got is amazing Everytime ive spoken to PVW its like hitting a brick wall just not interested The impression ive got from The Golf is that there thinking of opening the mag to all Vag cars instead of concentrating on Golf's but i dont care i still think its a great mag and would be more than happy if my car was feature on it :D Dan ill ask some of the guys frm CCGB and get back to you
  11. air flow meter??? do u mean the metering head??? its like a bild spade with a massive flap at the top that moves up ?? also they tend not to fail its just crap build up inside them and they dont work as well hence why i said a good old clean with injector/carb cleaners and they work like new :)
  12. to tell u the truth NO lol ur better of spend have a saturday taking your fuelsystem/idel system apart and cleaning everything up with injector/carb cleaner and ull find the car will run better just my 2p's worth redex will just losen crb in ur tank which will block up ur filters etc not good
  13. Hello Gavin unless my mate 9A is different to all other they do have the small hex screw just infront of the airflap as ive adjusted his as i have the speacial tool same as on the KR engines I also know the brain on the 9A also does control the fueling Also a ECU reset would be good Have you changed spark plugs as alot of mates have had probs with park plugs this winter which is very weird
  14. Thats the first ive heard of that I know that PVW have never been nice to CCGB and that The Golf has shown more interest in the club plus speaking to both I would choice The Golf over PVW anyday
  15. From what i know the traction control on vr's only works upto 20mph and thats it Also yeah you can lower that much on 17"s but make sure you get the right ofset on the wheels personally 50-60mm at the back aand 40-50mm at the front is more than enough for road use but for shows slam that thing lol
  16. Like Gavin said if you dont open up once in a while alot of crud builds up in the exhuast the best time to do a MOT is after a good trashing as that will clear out your pipes If the car was over fueling it would run very badly Also the fuel is controled by a very small hex key in your metering head which the garage shoudl be able to adjust without probs
  17. yeah car was sitting there with just the ignition on, engine not running also i test ohm on the sensor side aswell
  18. helo mate on the brain side i test voltage coming to the sensors and that was solid what i was meant to say about the front is there was no solid readings both sensors where all over the place nothing solid ill test the rears tongiht and see what happens
  19. well i didnt test the rear ones but the front sensors where all over the place the readin was sitting solid and they where both out a bit so does it mean they both gone??? also thanx alot for your help mate :D
  20. well i got hold of some original storm badges and they went for £140 it amazed me especial how much the americans are willing to pay for euro stuff
  21. Hello guys Ok as i dont have ABS on my car (not a woman so dont need it :-P :D  lol) ive had to read all previous post about ABS you guys have put up for my mate Pete. Basically the ABS used to come on at high speeds and started to get worse. Now when you put the ignition on the ABS flickers a few times and then stays on solid so he has asked me to look into it as he just had a close call lol So we cleaned the front metal discs next to the calipers/disks. I then got my multi meter out and im getting a solid reading of 1.2 at the front senors coming from the car side but not getting very good readings coming from the sensors. Read some where you can check it this way Also i read that you should be able to feel the ABS motor click on but cant feel anything at all Any advise?? before he sheds loads of money out??
  22. cool that is what i though as the plan is 0.5-0.8bar so that should be ok Also what pulleys does the 16v g60 use??? Ive heard u cant use the g60 crack pulley Also ive been offered a mkIII gti pulley system with alternator etc So what is the best setup pulley wise to go with Off course this is all info for my mate   :-P
  23. Looks like it... At least mine'll be different 'cos I've modded it!  lol well at least the ret of the car body mods will be there to make mine different lol :D Personally im very impressed with the bumper quality especially after having a crap fiber one.
  24. guys just out of interest what boost is recomened for what compresion i.e 10.5:1 = max 1 bar boost 9:5:1 = max 1.5 bar boost etc is there any books etc to read up only ask as i might know someone superchargering a 16v  and bearing in mind this engine already runs a DTA system so fueling and timing will not be a issue. Also there will be a intercooler and hopefully the new Cyro2 cooling system for fuel air and intercooler.
  25. man is everyone getting the same front bumper
