Coxys R32 4 Motion Corrado - On the Road!!!!
biggerbigben replied to CoxyLaad's topic in Members Gallery
I am not doing the boot cutting thing this time. I have the 4wd axle ready to go in, and I am going to mount it up to the front mounting points, then see where the rear mount is sitting, then fabricate a crossmember for it. Then I will offer up the rallye fuel tank and see what I have to do to get that to fit. Me and horrocks were talking and believe it will go in with some minor modification. Yeah engine is ready, just need an exhaust really. I have to refit my dashboard, fit this alarm that I have, refit the seats, wire in the 4wd controller and ABS loom, steering wheel/yaw rate sensors. Wire in the cruise control, and I think thats about it. pm me your email and I will send it on to you.[/quote:3f5bf] It will fit.. we did it on another 4wd corrado. Just chopped some of the spare wheel well out and used a passat g60 syncro cross member with the correct diff mount. To fit the tank, it might sit a bit lower but it should fit ;-) -

There you go! It really is worth the wait. What have you got to do at the rear then? Start everything again from scratch? Engine is pretty much ready, right? Then just interior and ?? Dude if you have an electronic version of the wiring diagram for the CC then yes I would love it.. if not I'll have a surf around the net and see if I can find it.. I have a Mk4 Bentley manual but their wiring diagrams are aweful! -

Coxy, thanks mate.. I'll get cracking with the Climate control wiring after the MOT if I get time on sat. I agree with Phat, 4wd is the right decision! I promise you'll love it! It makes so much difference a) putting the power on the ground (even the syncro) and b) handling! The handling is superb! Its worth the extra effort chap! So see it finished at E38 then? ;-) -

billinjah, thanks Bill... Everything seems fine now. Hopefully it will be on the road next weekend! CoxyLaad, Hey Coxy.. The camber issue is still there. I have just pushed the arse end up a little to try and keep it minimal. I will get it sorted sometime, just haven't got around to it yet! Ben -

The news... After both myself and Mr Hartley (thank you sir!) spent the whole night working on the car, yes the WHOLE night! It went for its MOT at 8am this morning... well it failed, BUT, only on 2 things... first was an easy fix.. loose bolts on front hubs/suspension, the second was that for some strange reason the power steering wasn't working properly.. it seems fine now after a fiddle so re-test next sat.. 8AM! Ben -
wow nice man! it sucks when your mates can buy cars like that .. lol

how much do you charge? Not for a daddy £370 clean but like for a poor man clean? Also would you go as far out to norfolk? (Kings lynn area, near swaffham) I might be interested as mine is filthy inside and out .. !! Ben -

Thank you Neil - you butthead.. lol Ok guys, thanks for the help. I'm prob going to be up all night getting her ready for the MOT.. wish me luck!!! :) Anyone going to bugjam? I might just be there ... ;-) -
those pics bring back memories... :) Sprinter intercooler are big and cheap but I would be incline to go for a Td5 intercooler as they are a little smaller and basically are a bit neater. The sprinter doesn't fit particularly well in a corrado.. about 20mm too big! IHI is a good choice imo.. good spool up and nice for a daily driver (if thats what its going to be).. If you need any more help let me know as I've kinda been there and got the t-shirt and I would be glad to lend as much advice as I can give. Good luck!

looks good! Agree with Jays comment... keep the pics rolling!

I do have it mate... all I did was cut off the end plug that normally went in to back of the dials hoping to splice into the 3 wires I needed. You would think it was simple, but to f**k if I could get it to work. Arhhh.. maybe I'm not understanding it right. Perhaps there is a continous live feed (thus why one of the wires was always live) and the relevant wire is just earthed out and thus creating a circuit. Is that how it works? If I could find a half decent wiring diagram I could solve this but the Bently Manual wiring diagrams are shiTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT !! B -

ok, just an idea with regards to the headlight plug.. The car has half standard wiring and half my own ;-) See post above with regards to the idea with the old dial loom. This was my original plan but it never worked, i can't get my head around to why it doesn't work as in 3 or those white wires should be lighting up corresponding LED's in the dial pod for the indicators, full beam and handbrake.. ???? -

right, yes, I was waiting for someone to pick up on this. Ok, I do have the loom to the old dials and yes in theory the wires should be there for the full beam and indicators + handbrake.. however.. When I used the multimetre on all the white wires (they are differentiated by pin numbers not by color of wires) none of them had any power.. odd.. I tried the multimetre on all the wires for full beam, indicators and handbrake and non of the wires worked apart from one wire that was live all the time..., checked fuses and everything.. but no joy. So I removed that loom for good. ideas? -

Henny you are a legend - massive thanks!! When taking the feed for the warning lights, won't the relays be in the back of the fuse box and therefore where is this second terminal you mentioned and what does it look like, I'm trying to picture it? With regards to the headlight issue, do you know if you can by mistake plug the plug into the headlight bulb incorrectly? I think its a 3 pin white plug.. Jay thanks! If you have any further thoughts please let me know. ***** Neil you are a butthead.. MOT in norfolk on sat 8am, how am I meant to get the car down to guildford and back in time... such a butthead.. hahahaha ;-) ***** -

yes my thoughts exactly... look after it, as I'm sure you will.. I helped build that car! (well actually I stood in the garage and looked at it while Jay tighten'd his nuts.... oohhh urrrr )
