10. I understand your point, basically the chargers are well known for being a quality product, but the usp with this particular one is the gearbox. The unit is 90mm bigger then a standard rotrex because if the gearbox, it's possible it may squeeze into a vr bay with a little work. But being a standardised charger it can be bolted onto any engine with a well engineered bracket. And that would be £50 off the winning bid and free postage if you won. The chargers alone new are about £1300+ and to find any with a 2 speed gearbox is probably rarer then finding a vw Motorsport vsr manifold.
11. I may offer £50 off final price for forum members as I would like to see it being used. To complete the kit all you need is: - an oil cooler - pulley suited to application - rotrex traction oil - and custom bracket suited to engine And then any pipework/ cooling you want to get the performance required. However I'm not sure that with the added size that the charger will squeeze into the engine bay with the gearbox. Without the gearbox this supercharger has been used regularly in vr's as members like rams have proved they can produce some power.
12. I have Finally listed my supercharger on ebay :(. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121143635633?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 know anyone who would be interested or interested yourself check it out. I want it to go to someone who will make the most of the supercharger and put it towards a fantastic project. (I would love to follow its use and the build around it after selling) Enjoy!!!
13. As some of you may have seen in the for sale section I was looking at selling my supercharger when I realised that it may be something a little special. it appears I may have a 2 speed gearbox attached to my c30-94 rotrex charger, however im struggling with my research and wondering if anybody can help. here is what I have found. Firstly this is what a standard rotrex c30-94 supercharger looks like. And this is how my model looks. As you can see my model is exactly the same up to a point and then there is an extra casing attached to the side. when I purchased this a fair few months ago it was advertised on ebay as a c30-94 rotrex charger. in the description it said about 2 speed gearboxing however I just presumed this was standard for rotrex. so I did a little Google search into the matter and found a company called Antonov did make a 2 speed tranny box for rotrex superchargers and they unveiled their product attached to a ford mustang. the idea in the gearbox was to allow for higher boost and more torque at low rpm, and after the engine had hit a higher rpm the gearbox would change bringing the boost back inline with standard figures. however there isn't a large amount of detailed information online that I can find other then a few videos and a couple of blog/ forum posts. I found these pictures of the inner workings of the box and also a build put into a lexus engine. As you can see the supercharger looks identical to mine however the only markings I can find on my unit are these...... I doubt these marking are useful and I am not brave enough to remove the gearbox casing to check for more signs just wondering if anyone can spread some light on the matter. Thanks for listening
14. Well I say meet I was hanging around a car park late at night.........what they did next you wouldn't believe......
15. Possibly interested in the 288 callipers are they in good condition and working?? Do you have anything like carriers, hoses pads or disks aswell?? Thanks Sam
16. The other day I went to a car meet, arranged for a charity event at which 2 cars turnt up. one drifted their Nissan Silvia dangerously and fairly uncontrolled inches from people's pride and joys. And one was an old American estate complete with family and baby son in back. The driver decided it would be a great idea to try donut in a small car park nearly hitting a trolly bay. I know this is in a open car park but its still idiots like this that give the modified and car loving community a bad name.
17. Thanks Joni, a bit more information there, that's if it is an Antonov box. Unfortunately I'm not with the unit this week to check for any marking or signs. But I'm fairly sure the seller mentioned it was 2 speed gearbox I just presumed that was standard. It's interesting I want to try find out more.
18. No I'm actually glad you did I'm dead happy you did mention it, I wouldn't want to sell someone something they couldn't use. Hence why Im making it not for sale anymore until I've worked out a bit more about it. Apologies to everyone especially emu and science. I'm not sure how to delete this thread if a mod/ admin could for me that would be great. Thanks guys this could be an interesting find looking at it. Sorry again Sam
19. Yeah Im now noticing this, looks like it was advertised as 2 speed gearbox when I brought it. I'll have to have a good look at markings when back home at the weekend. But I'm rather interested to find out.
20. Hi It was sold to me as c30-94 the diameters of the inlet and outlets would indicate its a 94 aswell. But I never really thought about it, I got it cheaper as bankrupt stock as it didn't have oil cooler, traction oil or pulley. It has rotrex c series markings on it which I can take a photo of tomorrow. But I have to admit other then that I don't know alot more. I'm a little worried now though. ---------- Post added at 6:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:04 PM ---------- May have I halt this sale and have a look into it. A quick google search it may be an Antonov 2 speed gearbox drive. Which would make it able to give higher boosts top end but as you say the body's to big for engine bay :/. I never even thought about it as I haven't seen a standard rotrex
