Agree with Krishen, it looks to me like a D-Bus for a CD shuttle.

Andy, must confess its not my car lol. I'm rocking the old-skool cloth at the moment, though the idea of caramel leather in my flash red car does make my fizz a little! I pinched this from t'internet. I went for these Alpines in my old Civic R, and was really happy with the sound. They were much better then the standard Honda coaxial's, and mounted the tweeters so they crossed the sound waves at head height above the gearstick. They were enough money to spend considering I didn't want to renew the cabling or even the Honda head unit and couldn't be bothered re wiring through the grommet into the back of the dash etc. Was a simple snip into the cross over and I stuck the xover to the inside of the door skin with some number plate pads and tape. The only evasive bit was the drilled holes in the A pillar but at £50 it's not like your going to be removing them when you sell the car! The other reason I like them is because the tweeters have no logos on them, so to the eye they look completely OEM ;) Useful living in Swansea and using the car as a daily driver! http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/5324.html

I got the audio shop to throw in two sheets of the dynamat for half price with the speakers. Not sure about the Pyle kit? I thin for not much money you could get a set of components, like the Alpines I used for about £50 or something a little better like Infinity Reference/Kappa for 80-100 or so. You couid put the tweeters in the dash and the mids in the door positions. Will look nice and stock. Alternatively (and the way I would go) would be to mount the tweeters in the A pillar trim panels. It's a nice and flat panel, and you could use an angled tweeter mounting for a good soundstage. You can either surface mount them or sink them in if there is space. Beauty of this is that you can use the existing cable from the head unit to the door as your carrier to the crossover which is mounted inside the door, and then run new cable up inside the door to the mid and tweeter. No need to run cables from the door to the dash etc or try even touch the head unit install at all!!! Bit like this.....

Hi Tony, I used to have a Woodstock54 in my old Lotus Elise. Sounded ok but any stereo in an Elise is really just fill. I bought a set of Alpine components in a previous Civic and was really impressed when I combined them with a few sheets of Dynamat. Made the music should a lot better, and also reduced road noise. Plus gave the doors a more satisfying thud when closing. Was the first time I've ever dabbled in the sound proofing, but if I were to ever do another install I'd use it again, and before things like cable upgrades.

Damn group buy mutiny haha

I sponged it off at the time last night, have touched up the scratches as best I can and polished it up pretty well. The mental scars and anger will take a little longer to heal lol

Yep just seen a couple, seriously annoyed about it! Will be out there today with my toothpicks and touchup paint. I'm absolutely seething!
-
They'll be scrambled if I get my hands on them, or my rear quater is dented! Sounded like a brick hit it.

Driving home tonight **** head kids egged my car. I hope thats all it was because it made a hell of a noise - will check tomorrow in daylight to see if any stones were used too. My neighbours now probably think I'm a murderer too seeing my hose the back of the car down at 11pm!!!!

I've emailed speedline direct to ask about weights and fitment options. I think the one in pic does use spacers to push them out a bit in order to get such a beefy stance. Personally I prefer that as my arches aren't rolled so I can fit them with more room. I've also spoken to another supplier who also said white is the standard colour, but on a run like we could arrange they could be done silver or anthracite etc but must all be same colour. Will let you know when I get a response

Not sure if better is the word, I just like them because they are the standard wheel shape which I think suits the car.
-
I thought 10 was good for a 17, my mate, elise 160 has the lotus victory wheels which are the same weight. Will always be more than standard though I guess being the larger version of the standard wheel.
-
The only widths advertised are 7's, while the weight is listed on a few sites as 10kgs. No ide on the offset choice but if I get a list of questions I bang them off in one go...

My wheels are corroding and need new tyres soon so rather than spending on a refurb and new 15" tyres I'm thinking it's as good a time as ever to look to go larger. I've emailed performancealloys.com who advertise them but they said they are out of production unless they get an order of 24 or over. Price is £672 plus any tyres you choose. I think a 205/40 should give the closest overall diameter to the standard wheels. So if another 5 were interested we could get them with the right 5x100 fitment etc. Anyone interested in me taking it further with them, looking for an additional discount and finding lead times etc? They do them in silver white and anthracite I think. Found a pics of them on a Corrado...

Spent far too much time blipping the throttle to hear the car popping and farting! :)

Hi mate, I had some unexpected bills following my holiday so still not done unfortunately. Will look to do it after payday I think! -
I think he'd actually painted the wheels by hand (maybe with a brush). To be honest he wsa a really nice kid, but the chaps in the tyre shop shouldn't have done it. One of them said forget pot holes, if you take a corner too fast you could well rip the tyre off the rim!
-
I'm with swiftcover seemed to be cheapest when I looked if thats any help.
-
Had my car serviced and a new tyre fitted earlier as I'm taking her on a 5 day trip around france, switzerland and germany. Chatting to a tidy chap in the tyre place getting some 165s fitted to 7J rims. The results were insane the pics don't do it justice. Even the boys in the tyre shop were laughing and saying he's mad!

Service and new tyre - 115 and 66 respectively which I thought was quite good.
