Purple VR6 on Ebay - Can anyone on here offer help?
Pete replied to Pete's topic in General Car Chat
The Elise is the other car I'm looking at. I want something fun (its not the work car) which I'll not lose a bundle on and will be fun to use. The Elise would be great for sunny days, while a VR6 would be a great collectors classic. Anyone wanna sell me one??? -
Purple VR6 on Ebay - Can anyone on here offer help?

Well I've had some more info and more pics on the car. Its got a pea-sized rust spot on the front pssgr wing, and a flak on the rear arch with hasnt rusted yet. Seller thinks it'll cost £150 to sort them both. I'd post pics of them up if I knew how lol!!! Still interested but with the cost of leather its going to be around 6500 which is super top book! What do people think? To make it a harder choice theres a 75k mile blue Storm on the trader for the same sort of money... Cheers. -

Thanks for the thoughts guys... I've asked the sseller about smoking and oil/water use and he's saying its all fine. As the car has been stored until recently and the MOT is up in December I think I'll ask him to MOT it for me in advance so he must fix anything of significance. He says the history is all VW and he has all receipts, though as yet I'm still to recieve pictures of the paperwork as requested. Matt: I've agreed to go up next Saturday, but if you were able to cast an eye over it before then I'd be forever grateful - Swansea to Derbyshire is a blooming long way to be let down lol!!! I agree that the price is high (I've agreed on 5500) but i've explained to him very clearly that I'm expecting it to be seriously high quality for that money with only the odd stone chip to contend with. I know what you mean regarding storms etc. I've never seen the added value in the storm myself but I agree theres sense in what your all saying. What I would say is that I have a fairly flexible budget and I want to buy a truly astounding VR6 (no reiger kits please haha). I want it to be one of the best VR6s in the country so if any of you are considering a change and have a car that fits the bill then please get in touch!!! Also thanks for moving the post Walesy! Pete. -
I've provisionally bought this (its a looong way from me so not seen it in the flesh yet) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/vw-corrado-1994-m ... 286.c0.m14 Looks great, phone chats and the hi res pics I've had from the owner all look great. Miles are low and although no leather, I can sort that out late myself. Question is its been for sale a while and despite the high price makes me have a lingering doubt on the cars quality. Anyone here seen it, owned it or viewed with an intention of buying? Any info (+ve or -ve) would be gratefully recieved... Cheers, Pete.

Quickest car you've been in, owned and most interesting....

Fastest I've owned are two BMW M3's [E36 Evo and E46]. Fastest I've driven for top end was the M3 [if delimited] but for accelleration it was a Caterham I drove as a drift day at Silverstone - just call me DK. Fastest as a passenger was in hard to call. Either a Noble 400 around Castle Combe or the Blink Motorsport Elise driven by an instructor so we did almost a complete lap of Llandow nr Cardiff sideways. -
Guys, I've gone and kerbed a wheel, anyone know of a place local to me I can trust to repair it?
-
I checked my old one out on the web and wished I still owned it and that I had enough money to buy it again! :)

I have a 'Endura' Fiesta for nipping back and fore to work in and its the same story here. Crummy car but its been faultless and I've serviced it myself for practically 0 cash! Back on topic, I have tested both the new GTi and new R32 and I felt the GTi was actually the better drive, plus it looks so much cooler. So I wouldn#t buy an R32. Prob is the GTi wasn't all that impressive, and always lives in the R32's shadow so I wouldn't buy a GTi either. Hence I went for a used M3. On my 2nd now and loving it!!! Here's a fact about the R32 which shocked me - it weighs more than my 3.2 litre 3 series coupe!!!

Just speid my old VR6 for sale in a trader. I sold her almost 2 years and 29k miles ago but at the time it left me the condition was the best I'd ever seen. Could make a good buy for someone...? And before the digs start coming in, I think white C's look sweet as anything :D http://stone.he.net/~csis01/volkscars/v ... ?ref=white

Sorry guys I didn't know it wouldn't work. It is an E46, with black leather. Hopefully this will work...
-
Instead I went back to the BMW stable again with my 2nd Estoril M3 Coupe. All I can say is.... :D http://www.bm3w.co.uk/ug/showfull.php?photo=8290

Crikey! Glad no harm done to people, the cars can be replaced. Get an E46 M3, I just did!!!
-
Nice one! If it had black leather I'd have been in there as well.
-
Buy my M3 mate! It'll simply destroy an S3 [and matches an RS4 in straight pace!]. RWD, 50/50 weight etc, its the ultimate driving machine apparently! Seriously though think about it. The S3 was in my list of option until I drove one, very poor performance [relatively] put my off - no faster than the VR6 or CTR I had owner previously.

Cost me nothing cos of work, but it was £22 yesterday and its £16 normally on public days.
-
Well I've been and it was ace! I work at DVLA so I got to go on Trade Day. The 911 Turbo S cabrio is nice, the McLaren SLR massive, the TVR's stunning and the women delicious!!! And the GT40 and Fiesta RS look amazing. But check out the Thunderbirds show at Ford cos its really entertaining! :D

i take it thats a typo .........should be 321bhp Yes! 321bhp!!! )
-
Mine is a 6-speed EVO with the 3.2L 312bhp engine. Also has reworked suspension. These are also the correct alloys for the coupe. The blades are for the cabrio and the solid 5's for the saloon. EVO wheels also have little M badges in them too! Only did EVO's in that colour also, as the non-EVO's came in Avus [dark] blue. I'm a very happy chappy though, its an awesome car!
-
I was very pleased - I got £6750. The car really was MINT though!!! Next up is either an E36 M3 Evo, an Impreza STI-R or a VX220...
-
My VR6 is sold now... Sorry to those who PM'd me too late.
-
What about lighter aluminium then???
-
Thought I saw one recently on ebay...

With the Brembo's on the front could you not just put your old fronts at the back???
