I agree, I've had a ton of stuff at lots of price points like boxster s's, m3s, a supercharged v8 stype and last car was an elise 111r. Love the vr6 though, the feeling of value for money and the character of the engine is what sets it apart, plus it still feels modern.

Ah, I was returning goods under warranty never sent second game stuff

I've used www.interlinkexpress.com for sending some high value electronics back for repair and they collect, insured etc for reasonable money.

Without coming over all "Porsche Man" I'd have picked the RS from that lot as an actual prospect to buy factoring in all the costs etc. But if you wanted a car for that kind of trip with no money worries he should have had a GT2RS which is more like the others on price (165k) and with over 600bhp and crucially 500+ lb/ft it would have probably beaten the others for pace! But I do love my Porsches...

Mine did the same, used a combination of silicon lube and a hairdryer to thaw it out.

Mine is doing great, all tucked up in the garage on charge!

I'm guessing the s/c v6 would havea better sound and possibly torque delivery through the revs, but would the 1.8T handle xbetter? Anyone know how much weight is saved in the bam conversion (if any)?

If you fancy a subaru then get a 22B.

... but i just drove home via some long straight dual carriageways. Even though my car has the standard OEM exhaust, the noise was glorious as it picked up from about 1500rpm in 2nd. Just kept wanting to floor it!!!

Morning, the car aint been used in a week but needed it this morning. Plipped the alarm but while the doors unlocked the boot seemed to make a long continuous moan. Got in and ignition key won't turn seems frozen solid, then the alarm starts going mental. I tried several times but to no avail so had to leave it and will try again later. I did stick it onto mains charge before leaving though in case the battery was low and the alarm wasn't helping it. Any ideas? Maybe a hairdrier on the ignition barrel?

I got good mpg when driving slowly but because of the revs needed it was low 20's usually. My driving was all round town though so cruising in 6th should make high 30s easily.

Try 20ish. used s1 cars can be had for under 7k, just get one that's not been crashed and upgrade the suspension to nitrons and freshen up bushes etc, then some elise parts discs Mr even aps. should be around 10 when done minus what what you sell the k series for. Or buy one with a sorted chassis etc ame just do the engine!
-
Basically you fit custom mounts (sold by a variety of companies) and fit the K20A motor and box into an S1 or S2 Elise/Exige provided its a K series car it fits in easily. The clamshells come off so it's easy to work on, and the only tricky bit is wiring but you can buy looms if you wish. The engine can then be supercharged to around 300bhp. Or you can pay to get it done for between 10k and 14k or so for a s/c version. Have a look... http://hondaelise.com/about-kit.htm

What id do if you get one is look in time for a cheap mega mile elise. then do the link up conversion! I was planning that on my elise until I hot written off!

Not sure about used pointers but I imported one from Holland new in march 03. kept it 7 months and really didn't like it at all! Wasn't the car itself but the engine. 8k revs sounds great charging on a b road but there's so little torque you have to thrash it round town too. made me feel a bit silly making so much noise just to keep up with traffic. The rest of it I liked, best gearchange I've ever tried, good seats if a bit high, great brakes and nothin went wrong. I bought a 1. 6 ep3 a few years later as a daily and I prefered it. comfy and just as solid.

Hi guys, planning to fit my news coilovers if the weather isn't too bad this weekend. I've looked on here but can't find any guides on how to fit them. Anybody got one I can use? Thanks, Pete.

Pete replied to dtjames's topic in General Car Chat
Just saw this post, I've used Ian at APS before. The job he did on the wheels for my Elise was insane! Back in a VR6 again since the Lotus got written off at Dyfatty lights. '95 flash red 74k totally standard but coily's hopefully coming this week then I'll be on the prowl for wheels... -
Hi Neil, another local Corrado! Not seen yours about but it looks fantastic from the pics. I've not used them but heard good things about Nisstec and I believe they do laser alignment.

They are standard 17inch boxster S 968 wheels. Porscheshop sell them for 580 a set.
