Chris Langdon's Moonlight Blue VR6 thread!!!
zak replied to Chris Langdon's topic in Members Gallery
Chris great job, the car looks superb. Its nice to finally see a moonlight blue corrado detailed. When i had my moonlight i didn't kow anything about detailing so never saw the full potential of the colour. Are you driving yours daily or is it garaged away? The weather is not doing my paintwork any favours at the moment :cuckoo: -
nice car and imola red is quite sought after 8)

I agree with Kev my car drives so nice i don't care so much for the fuel economy. It would be different if the car was slow and it drank loads but with the performance i get i'm more than happy :) -

Not so much stop start, i'd say 50% of it is on clear A roads. As a comparison if i'm on the motorway i'll get 350 miles from my 55l fill up which equates to 29mpg -

Mainly driving around London in the evenings when there is not much traffic i get around 270 miles to the tank. I usually get 55l of fuel in to the tank between fill ups so that works out to be about 22mpg which i have been achieving consistently over the last few years. No Idea how some of you are getting such high mpg's. -
Hasan when i see you next you can try swapping bits over from my setup to pin point the problem.

wow looks much better with the all red rears 8)

thats strange, the wiring is exactly as above. There is nothing else you need to do.

seems like everyones had a lot of wheels, but i think you should only include sets you have run on your actual car
-
last pics before the wheels come off :)

what size and offset are your splits and how much would you be after?

Gareth - Not sure how the original finish was applied but it is very nice just have to look at Alan W's set on e38. Silver is defo the way forward Chris - He uses a makita rotary on the metal panels and a porter cable da on the plastic panels as they heat up quickly. Both used with menzerna polishes to good effect. update on the car rs's will finally be coming off next weekend as i'm too busy to keep on top of the maintenance required in this weather. I have some interesting rc's to go on :)

wow the paintwork has freshened your car up nicely. I'll have to come check it out soon 8)

I remember when i hit 180k and i thought it was really high but that seems like a distant memory as now i'm about to hit 191k  My cars still fresh though as every area of the car has been refreshed and i keep on top of any jobs that need doing :)

the above black set will look much better in silver, show of the detail in the rs nicely 8)

Cheers Gareth seems like you're building your collection back up :) I didn't have any issues with the powder coating stopping the dishes or barrels going on but that was because i was very specific about what i wanted masked off before the coat was applied. The same goes for the centre threads that the nut screws in to, that was masked off too. But i do think if i was do to them again i would get them painted rather than powder coated. Few reasons for this: 1. I wouldn't be comfortable getting my centres blasted too many times 2. Due to the nature of powder coat it is quite difficult to get the centre plates and the centres of the wheels to match. This is becuase the centre plate is much thinner and you can heat it and cool it faster where as the centre of the wheel requires the heat to be applied for longer and you end up with a darker shade. 3. From what i have been told powder coat loses its gloss over time. Despite the above points wet painting the wheels is also not straight forward, getting an even coat all over and within the nooks and crannies is no easy task especially without runs in the paint. I have a few tins of the oe bbs wheel paint that i got with some wheels i bought a few years ago so may try using that next time i undertake a refurb.

AG ecu's came in both early plug in chip type and later soldered in chip type. As long as your car is running an AG ecu it will work. If you have the later CP ecu with the imobiliser then your AG ecu will not work.

i wanted to buy that single for parts but it finished for too much :?
-
look great, i can never tire of looking at seeing rc's on a corrado. Hows the drive with them?
-
Not yet, its on the things to do list but i'm pretty busy at the moment. It will happen when i switch to some winters, i'm still rolling around on my rs's

You have to be really low to benefit from these as at a moderate drop they will push the wheel too far back in the arch. If you are low enough then you have to be equally low or even lower at the front which won't be easy or may not possible.

Heres a picture of my light panel with the led bulb fitted on the front and the resistor on the back Heres the terminals i connected the resistor to on the passenger side tail light Heres the terminals i connected the resistor to on the drivers side tail light heres a video of my indicators flashing Hope that clears up the wiring :)
