  1. Hi, I'm looking for the top and bottom plastic shrouds that surround the steering column, ignition barrel and stalks....for a '93 vr if it makes any difference. They need to be in decent condition with all screw holes and threads etc in tact. If you have these let me know and what you'd be looking for. Thanks.
  2. Si, Just to let you know, I found the plug and got the MFA working. For some unknown reason, the alarm fitters saw fit to unplug the brown plug and bundle the wiring up in their insulation tape harness, leaving the plug tucked away amongst the nest of remaining wires. I love the work ethic of some would be professionals!! Thanks for the photos, they were invaluable in helping me sort the problem.
  3. Thanks very much for the photos. They look like they may well be very useful and certainly give me a better idea of what I should be looking for. Will have another dig around tomorrow and see what I can find. What would we do with our spare time if we didn't own corrados?? :thumbleft: Thanks again
  4. Hi Si, Thanks for the reply. I had located the connector from the stalk that's mounted on the steering column, but that's what there is nothing plugged into i.e I can't see/find the plug that is supposed to go into that. I have unhooked the fuse box but can't spin it round to have a look, but from touch there's a gap and nothing plugged into the location you suggested....maybe why I cant find the plug that should go into the stalk connector?! I'm guessing there should be some part of the harness that links the display/fuse box/stalk?? I'm at a bit of a loss.....Any further suggestions welcome:shrug: For reference, it's a '93 vr. 5. Hi all, Could someone help? Have not had any function on my MFA since having the alarm fitted. Just got round to investigating why and turns out there is nothing plugged into the connector leading from the stalk. Cannot for the life of me find where the plug is...I'm wondering if the alarm fitters have inadvertently chopped it, but can't even see any evidence of snipped wires. Has anyone got a pic or something that shows where the wiring with plug emanates from? Or any other advice? Cheers
  6. Got the loom fitted which was straight forward with Zak's instructions. Had an issue with the existing wiring but Zak(on the end of the phone) helped us diagnose and eventually solve the problem. The difference between new and old is literally like night and day. They are now easily as bright as my everyday Audi A4's lights. Can't recommend this upgrade highly enough.
  7. Got the TT arms and blades fitted and finally got to test them in the rain the other day. Really great fix to the problem. Low speed they are awesome. I still need to do a few tweaks as there's a bit of chatter (and therefore bits of water left) from the drivers side blade above 55mph and also need to get them to return closer to scuttle. But an otherwise excellent mod and well worth doing.
  8. Definitely think original colour, unless you're doing the full job of a colour change. Like the oak green rado next to the 993!!
  9. I bought one of Zak's (Kur2Y) excellent looking upgrade wiring looms. Tried fitting it over the weekend but encountered some problems. Basically fitted it all up but no matter what I did, could only get the nearside side light to light up when side and dipped beam was switched on. High beam worked fine on both sides. Prior to the new loom all lights worked apart from the nearside dipped beam, which I assumed was simply the bulb. After some help from Zak over the phone (he's a very patient guy!!) we discovered that the nearside connector block power wire (the yellow one) was not receiving a power feed. As Zak's loom takes its' power from that side and sends it over to the offside, this seemed to explain why the new loom would not work as intended. Each side has its' own fuse, so checked and replaced these but still no joy (both were in tact anyway). It is a fairly recent occurrence as only a couple of months ago, it sailed through its MOT fine. Has anyone any experience or advice as to what might be causing this loss of power to this wire?
  10. Yeh, provisionally sold mad jackal. Clumpy1, just pm'd you with courier details.
  11. Hi all, Set of 4 unused Bridgestone potenza's RE720 205/45/R16 for sale. Bought a few years ago to go on a set of speedlines for the corrado. Never ended up going on, sold the wheels but kept the tyres just in case!! They've been occupying a dark corner of the garage and the time has come to get rid, as I don't think I'll be changing the C's wheels anytime soon. They've never been on a set of wheels let alone the road. £100 for the set. Collection from Wakefield. Reply or PM me if you're interested.
  12. I did a bit of ringing round Audi dealers to see what prices were like as it finally became time to sort the useless standard wiper operation. Current prices are about £55 each for the arms and £19 each for the blades. Total about £148 for the lot. Best price I could get out of Wakefield Audi was £135 on first call. Rang Leeds Audi who quoted same original price but after a bit of haggling best price they could do was £116. Went back to Wakefield Audi who came down to £119 but no further. Got them from Wakefield Audi in the end as it would have cost £3 in fuel to get to Leeds!
  13. Looking good!! Nurburgring title sparked my interest. I've done a few trips to the ring in my VR6 and had a blast each time. They're a good little bus around that place!! Hope you have a lot of fun.
  14. Had this thread stored in my bookmarks for ages. Finally, came the time to do the right thing and strip and rebuild the whole thing. (No pics though unfortnately) After the mechanism eventually came out (much jiggery pokery needed with the wiring) it was a relatively simple strip and re-build....thanks in part to the very useful info provided here and a Bentley manual. The motor was totally clogged with crud, so no wonder it was blowing fuses. The tubes and gearbox weren't too bad but will surely have benefitted from a clean and re-grease. Only thing to really think about was how to clamp the motor body housing back onto the main body. With enough perseverance and a large flat blade screw driver, managed to get it clamped back into place with no wiggle movement. All went back together a lot easier than it came apart and I now have a spoiler that doesn't blow fuses and positively glides in and out of position. Only tips I think I could add to this thread would be: 1) Persevere with the removal of the mechanism. Once all the electrics are unplugged and the mechanism bracket un-bolted from the boot, taking the plastic guide tubes off the bracket allows the whole lot to be removed from the web of wiring and out in one piece. (The wiring is sort of inter-twined with the bracket and mechanism). 2) I used electrical contact cleaner (from halfords) to properly clean the motor and an RC parts cleaner for the rest of the tubes and gearbox parts. 3) A Large flat blade screw-driver should provide enough leverage to bend the tangs on the motor housing, back into place. Other than that, this really is a job worth doing. Thanks again for the tips.
  15. Hi Zak, I'm interested in one of these wiring looms. Have just PM'd you. Cheers Sherief
  16. Half watching 'Coming to America', whilst browsing the forum (doesn't need full attention as watched a hundred times before!!) - 9/10 Last 'new' movie watched was 'Deathproof'. Not a Tarantino classic but a decent watch and a good car movie - 7.5/10
  17. Hi Dave, Interested in one of these and the handbrake trim bracket. PM me with payment details. Cheers
  18. Hi there and welcome, I'm not in your area but I also have a "project" on the go.......aren't they all projects?!?! Good luck with yours.
  19. As above, I need a drivers side foglight for a late model corrado if anyone has one. Would take a paasenger side as well, if the pair is available. Cheers

    Headlight lens

Hi Cazza, You still got that passenger headlight for sale? PM if you do and I'd be interested. Cheers
  21. All of the above needed if anyone has spares. Cheers
  22. I'll have second dibbsies on driver's side foglight if no other takers. Cheers
  23. Today was a good day. First drive in the corrado for nearly 5 years. No tax or anything like that but after getting it started and unseized, couldn't resist the temptation to take it for a quick spin. It was just as good as I remembered, if not better. Once warmed through fully, I gave it a bit more throttle and the noise and the way the engine pulled, had me giggling like a schoolboy in sex-ed class!! Going for its' MOT next Wednesday, so quite a few bits to sort out as well as service everything, but we're back on the road to happiness.
