  1. When Top Gear first drove the Corrado, ages back, in which Tiff Needell had a pre-production G60 on three wheels through the corners. The way it looked and the whine from the SC, it became the only car for me. ... apart from the 997 GT3 - car porn.
  2. Well done that man! A top find :-)
  3. I do!!! It keeps the car out of Pikey sight and protects it from the weather. A nice double garage with RCD protected power ... drempt of this for ages, but I'm in heaven now :-)
  4. Back in the day, my old G60 (see below) pulled like a train. My recently acquired C has a 68mm pulley and 268/276 cam but I find it a bit slow. ....I know, use the full rev range, but I'm getting old and drive modern diesels far too often. Thinking either refit the standard cam or get one of those new fangled G-Werks max flow heads. I think I've answered my own question! Now to convince the missus.

    G60 nearside brake duct..

John, Thanks for the reply. That would explain why the later G60s didn't keep the ducts. Not sure how beneficial they are but it can't harm. I'll see if I can find the passenger side one.
  6. My '91 G60 has the brake duct openings in both front plastic wheel arches. A duct on the drivers side takes air from the bumper to that sides wheel arch. Should there be a duct for the front near side as well? ... I'm missing mine :-(
  7. Can you also PM the price to me. Thanks
  8. Ah, gota love those Group B rally cars :-) Dialynx are not far from my work. Watched one of their cars (silver one) run at a Castle Coombe MSA Sprint. Slick shod - it was effin fast off the line. Glorious sound at full chat.
  9. Thanks for the replies. Not such a bad idea then :-) Then I just need to find a black panel to cover the rear hatch area, where the spoiler motor is housed ... as mine is missing :-( Or spray a grey one black...
  10. Sounds stupid ... so thought I'd ask anyway :-) My C has a black interior but the rear shelf is an MDF stealth shelf. There's nolonger any ICE in the car, so I want to replace it with an original black shelf. Now if I sourced a grey shelf and dyed it black, do you think it would look alright...? Kind of a mad idea but thought it may work.
  11. Sports would do nicely :-) but Missus doesn't like my taste in car suspension :-( So have to go the boring comfort route. This is some adjustment on the Special/Red units. But there more comfort based than the Sports. Koni catalogue for Special/Red
  12. Hi After some advice really. The wife and I have finally had enough of the understeering and zero feedback from the suspension on our family barge - A3 SE TDI 130. It rides on 225/45R17 tyres on Audi 17's which came with the car. I was thinking keep the Audi SE springs :-( and just fit some good gas shocks - Koni Reds!? Does anyone know how stiff these are compared with the adjustable Koni Sports? Any other shock absorber suggestions? Audi suspension is cr@p. My old Corrado had Eibach+Koni Sports, and didn't like the back roads we have to drive. If I look too much, then I think of H&R -35mm progressive wind springs and then move onto perhaps 1.8T ARBs, Forge SMIC, remap .... :-) Chris
  13. Bored at work so found this on Vortex, as you do: 8v xflow head CFM - anyone with numbers?? Just got me wondering if anyone has the numbers for the PG counter flow head? Can't find anything on Vortex. I know the PG is not great, but just wondered how bad it was. USA guy mentions ~155CFM for a standard 2l ABA xflow head, and with mild work can get around 180's to 190's. In another Vortex post one guy said the SC could possibly max around 300CFM. Hence why the PSI readings will suddenly increase at the top end as the PG can't handle what the SC chucks at it...?

    G60 IHI Turbo

Noticed Jabba advertised in latest Golf+ mag' and stated from 220bhp and 217lbft for the turbo kit. So far it's taken me 18months to even get started on my track biased C! Poxy house DIYing. Then it'd be rebuilt gearbox (1st and 2nd) + diff. Xflow head ... the dreaming never ends.
  15. Hate to admit it, but I also drive a 320Cd Sport which *will* be chipped as the chassis is crying out for so much more! Have to get those rear 255/35R18 silly tyres working as it's soooo over tyred and will be more fun with the DSC turned off :-) My 130 PD does nothing to about 1800rpm and then all hell breaks loose. Quite funny with it's wobbly suspension.
  16. Perhaps a 2l TDI in a Corrado would be ok'ish!? 130 PD is good, but if not in the zone it's a bit pants. 16v TDI is more linear in comparison ... sort of half way between a petrol and 8v PD.
  17. Ah, that would be a new sensor for me to then :-(
  18. Jim, nice car!! You'll soon get the urge to get it remap'd, just to annoy even more petrol engined cars with the mid-range grunt from the PD :-)

    G60 IHI Turbo

I'm mildly interested .. :) Let use know what it drives like and the spec' of your engine! Interested in what the lag is like and also where the headline power and torque figures come in.
  20. Very late, but here's my take on it... I'm slowly (blinkin' snails move quicker than the progress I make on the car) building a stripped out and road legal Corrado for track days and MSA Sprints. If I'd listened to my head, then I'd have bought a Pug205 or gone the Mk2 with 2l 16v route....I kick myself as I had a chance of a fully prep'd 1.9 205. Though I'm a Corrado nut and love 'em too much to consider anything else so went with the heart choice. Second mistake, bought a tatty G60. I had a BRM and AMD'd 195bhp/200lbft one a few years back (J***WBO) and just had to have a G60 again. Now I worry about an exploding SC... I now realise I should have gone for a cheap 1.8l 16v. Stripped it out, sold the bits I didn't need. Added G60 brakes and coil overs. I'd be at the tracks by now!! Then sought proper power by installing 20vT later on. Car has to be 200+bhp/ton to be mildly interesting from what I've had before. Instead I'm waiting for details on Jabba's IHI turbo kit for the G60 8v. Will need to change the head later on for a KR or perhaps Xflow to be different, after getting a Peloquin diff and rebuilt 1st+2nd G60 box. Think all glass apart from windscreen should be replaced with Polycarb' and hopefully get a GRP bonnet made up. That might knock some of the lard out of the Corrado. Bleedin' short story that ... should really do what I'm paid to do now.
  21. Going from vague reality to I wish... Another C (obvious). 200SX S14 Porsche 968 Club Sport R33 Skyline GTR 911 GT3 RS Most likely is a Honda Accord or Mazda-6 family diesel barge :-(
  22. Also interested in the turbo conversion info!! ... though not sure what power the delivery would be like with the 8v PG head. The FMIC looks tidy. Could it be used with a 20vT conversion me thinks?
  23. Job well done! That looks fantastic! Can I put an order in for a video clip of that car passing with that engine at full chat!?

    Low compression on #2

Yup :D Mad times ahead. Mini-Me will be taught in the ways of the Corrado!

Good luck. That makes two us then!
