    G60 cut out at 45mph

Thanks guys, so looks like I'll be getting a 6N switch and some new relays then :( Hopefully that'll cure it. I'll post on this thread if it doesn't.
  3. Hi Driving home Friday evening in the rain with a little standing water, and my G60 just died whilst doing 45mph in 4th or 5th following traffic - revs down to zero. Luckily I coasted into a lay-by. She wouldn't start on a few turns, then would start and run fine for 10-15secs then just cut out. After ~10mins she started, and did the rest of my 35mile journey without problem. Assuming HT leads or related, but going to check earths, plus the BTS, vacs, and ISV. Generally idles a little rough, but then has a Newmann 268/276 cam. Any other ideas? Chris
  4. All looks very good ... apart from the front head lights. Sorry. I really wanted to like them, but the lenses are too close to the grill for me. Rear lights are cool, and yes have the same units on my car.
  5. My daily driver ... slow enough to keep me out of trouble, yet fun on the twisty parts of my commute. ... ditching the Run Flats ASAP!!! 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfMINI_R56_Cooper.jpg[/attachment:1q8ayjn9] The family Bus, which could do with lowering 5cm, thicker ARBs, a remap, some quality tyres. Beesting aerials

Don't laugh, but I read something about a Kia Rio aerial looking OK ... :?
  8. Looking good. Thanks for the photos, as I've been thinking about the Ronal Turbos as well :-) Think I'm sold on them now!! Out of interest are those 195 or 205 width tyres? Turbos are 7J rims?
  9. I actually kind of like the coupe version of the 1 series. It's escaped being hit with the fugly stick too many times. .... I've driven a 5dr 130i M Sport and rather enjoyed pedaling the straight six along, so a 135i would be tasty.
  10. I went with these part numbers... wheel 357601025M Cap 357601149JV7AL Trim 357601157V7L HTH :-) Chris
  11. samm_cvr6 - yours is probably the 136bhp version and your boss has the newer 150bhp engine; both 2.2 D-4Ds. As my work commute is in a 143PS Diesel Mazda-6 and I like to know what I'm up against on the A417/A419 to Swindon :-) For some strange reason I get the fronts lasting 15k miles and the rears just over 20k.

    27 Litre Rover

Hi Neil, Yep I think it is. I'm on page 16 of 24 so far. Utter madness, but sooo right.
  13. Looking good. Top colour and wheels!
  14. ...the Manta B GT/E always interested me :-)
  15. I find it really annoying that any person that does voluntary work is not treated with the utmost respect! After all these people do great work at their own cost. Some people ..... :-( Chris - appreciative CCGB member

    corsa help

1.6l XE - SBD has just taper TBs taking it to 164bhp on otherwise standard engine. They have kits taking it to 190bhp at "stage2". It's not a bad engine - also Cosworth designed.
  17. Thanks for the advice. I think it's a case of if it ain't broke then don't touch it :-) Sounds good to me. I'll soak the lifters though, if that's where the noise is coming from.
  18. Isn't Dave Richards also trying to get into F1, if so we could have Aston Martin F1 team! Good advertising for the mark :-)

    Lippys new car

Lippy, Good car choice! Driving a 3ltr Senator/Omega Elite hire car on twisty roads and pressing all the dash buttons, was my first introduction to Cruise Control. Auto box kicked down and off it shot into the corner! A fun big car :-)
  20. As far as I know the block is fine ... though I mean to compression test it some time this century :-( I do get what sounds like knackered tappets (or dry bearing?) at just above tick over speeds....I've yet to use a screw driver and listen for where this noise is coming from :-( The car had a 268/276 cam and new lifters not many miles ago. GazzgaG60 - sorry the "knocking clack" noise, does that indicate the wear at the crank/rod shells and bearings? I thought when they went you got a rumble when loading the engine - eg, climbing hill in big gear...?
  21. My '91 G60 has done just over 120k miles, so I like the idea of refreshing the bottom end. I used the search and couldn't find anything useful, so .. Keeping it standard capacity, and would be doing it all myself, what bits should I look to replace/check??
  22. Got mine the other day. Looks professional and is a good read. I now kick myself for missing Castle Coombe after reading about the fast convey on track :-(
  23. Whilst looking at rFactor (car racing sim') I found this place http://densetsu-works.blogspot.com/ had made a very nice looking 3D Max model of a Corrado G60.

    Dodgy Fuel!

Been reading about this on PistonHeads. A poster on there who develops ECUs recommended to not pay for a new lambda probe, but instead; drain the tank of fuel, put some main brand fuel in , reset fault codes, and try again.
  25. Darren, I'll take one also. Will call tomorrow. Chris
