I've been wanting to get this done for a while and have now found the time. I'm now able to supply hand Polished Stainless Steel screws and washers for the Slam Panel and Headlights, see photos attached. The headlight screws are notorious for corroding to the point that they round off when trying to remove them and this is more of a pain for the hidden screw at the headlight bottom mounting. The slam panel screws don't corrode quite as bad but it's nice to replace these to brighten things up. The washers for the slam panel screws are not off the shelf items, they have been made to suit the original size washers but are thicker, please note there is only one side polished so obviously this side goes up. The slam panel screws are the same for the wings. Kit A (VR6) 25mm Headlight bottom mounting screw - 2x 16mm Headlight top mounting screw - 4x 16mm Plastic cover screw - 1x 16mm Radiator cover screws - 2x Washers to suit the above - 9x £5.50 posted Kit B This kit includes the 4 visible screws (2 each side) on the top of the slam panel Complete set of slam panel screws – 14x Washers for the slam panel screws – 14x 16mm Radiator side cowl + washers - 2x M6 Power steering pipe + washers - 2x £12 posted Kit C This kit is for the 4 screws on top of each wing Wing screws – 8x Washers for wing screws - 8x £7.50 posted Kit D This kit is for the 4 screws on the top of the slam panel ONLY Top slam panel screws – 4x Washers for the slam panel screws – 4x £4.50 posted Kit E Fog/Indicator housing screws – 8x £2.50 posted Kit F Tailgate strut screws (hand polished heads) - 4x £3 posted Choose the kits you want and total up the cost. Been busy today, got the radiator in along with new sensors. Fan now kicks in at about 92-93 degs so it's done the trick, haven't been out in it yet just idled up to temp in the garage. The rad fits very well and looks the biz too so I'm a happy bloke. Jobs done - 1) Blast and powdercoat fan mounting frame 2) Secured the fan guides with Stainless screws and Nyloc nuts, the plastic fixings had broken off 3) Mounted the fans with polished Stainless screws, heavy duty washers and flanged nuts 4) Gear weight - blasted and ground off casting marks then powdercoated 5) Re-made the engine hoist bracket in polished Stainless 6) Replaced numerous front end screws with Stainless I have created another problem - the oil temp gauge no longer works so I need to take a look at the wiring, I may have disturbed something.

Hi Chris, long time no see, good to see you've still got your G60.
-
Sorry I didn't pay last week, I needed to shift some cash around, will do it Wednesday.

I'd say those bonnet props should be the other way round, the straighter one is for the 16v. Both my valvers had the straight one and my VR has the more bent one. I've seen many VR's with the more bent one.

£131 ---------- Post added at 9:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 9:17 PM ---------- Yep they are now obsolete. Mine aren't too bad, just a little modification required.

VR6Pete can supply these already.

The rubber ring looks like it needs to be further down. It should be about 150mm from the bend that sits in the bracket near the bottom, it's there to protect any rubbing on the slam panel.

Thanks for that.

For a few weeks now I haven't been happy with my idle temps, I know the wiring is all good but not sure about the sensors or how old they are. Also after removing the grill for some cleaning I spied the radiator in a bad way so time for a refurb. Parts purchased - Radiator - bought from SDL, they have a few branches in the Midlands, I went with them because I could collect and after checking their part number on the website it matched the Hella rad at radiatorshop.net and sure enough it's the exact same item. As far as I know the radiator is supplied to SDL by http://www.ava-cooling.com/index.php?id=57&L=1 VAG 4 pin sensor (now Black) VAG 2 pin clock temp sensor (Blue) VAG radiator switch sensor VAG Fan belt - the small one that drives the second fan VAG G12 coolant All the other coolant parts are new in the last couple of years including thermostat and housing and crack pipe. I didn't bother with the 2 pin Black (high speed fan) sensor. Every thing is off now, just need to get the fan housing blasted and powder coated. It's funny the front of the car now looks exactly the same as it did 2 years ago when I started the first job on it. I think the rad is on it's last legs.

To be honest I can't really afford it but don't want to let the side down.

Sadly I can't make this, my dad goes in for a heart op on the 6th and he will be in intensive care for a few days. -
So I either go with the Nissan rad and pull out of the current 263 cam group buy or buy the Hella rad (it's got good reviews on here) and pay the deposit on the cams?
-
The ring is about 2" in diameter with a small wiring loom and plug attached. It fits over the ignition barrel. You will need the original key as this has a chip in it that is programmed to match the original ECU.

VW dealer. Had a couple of prices from SDL Minorfern, these are the distributors for Denso but they don't do them for the VR6. They do AVA rads at £109+vat and Nissan rads at £200+vat.
-
Thanks Pete. ---------- Post added at 1:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:16 PM ---------- Gave the dealer a call today, the rad is now obsolete.
-
Pete, have you run your car yet with this radiator? Need some more feedback before I commit. Anyone else running this rad?
-
Not sure yet, hope to decide in the next week.
