I'm doing a 1.8t 20v conversion on my 1991 16v. I've heard to ditch the dual mass flywheel on the 1.8t 20v you can use g60 flywheel/vr6 clutch. What flywheel bolts, clutch pressure plate bolts and startermotor will I need for the conversion?

That's precisely it, once I begin braking the noise becomes slightly more high pitch then with more brake pressure the noise goes away. I did do exactly that, when I originally changed the discs and pads. I have noticed now that the brake cooling ducts are now back in the bumper, there has been a lot more brake dust that usual. I'll jetwash the wheels and brakes then begin stripping them down and sorting them out.

This isn't new brakes bedding in, my brakes have bedded in now. I've had brakes that I've had to bed in before where by using the brakes they then squeek, this squeeking is when I don't use the brakes. It only seems to be happening from the drivers side brake though really.

You are a life saver! Mines been annoying me for the last few months squeeling and groaning depending on speed! I'm buying one of these next week.
-
I'm having the same problem replaced my front discs and pads because the old setup was warped. Realised someone has stolen the front ducts for the brakes in the bumper, so some flexible hosing later I have cooling to the front brakes but I still have this squeeking! I definitely remember my front brakes not having those intermediate discs in the pistons though. I hope fitting them removes the squeeking!

Yeh pretty much, just try to make the least amount of holes in the plastic you use. Also make sure you clean the door where your about to run sealent across to get a good seal. I'd more than likely look at your door seal or look to see if anyone rubber grommets have been disturbed whilst doing work on the bulkhead. Water will always find away in, you could lightly apply some grease on your door seal on the body then shut the door to see if it is touching the door and sealing properly. Either that or a mate with a garden hose running water across the car with you inside seeing where it is coming from.

I've used good quality black bin bags in the past with some sealent to create a seal. It's time consuming but well worth the hassle. There are these available but they aren't in stock at the moment. http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Protective-film-for-doors-behind-door-cards-Mk1-2-Golf-3A0867201H_act_shop.product_pID_168995929.htm?crumbStartPage=1

You squire are a absolute legend! Looks like I'm off to TPS tomorrow to order the plugs and repair wire sections aswell. Thanks mate.
-
I was wondering why you recommended the terminal tool haha. But yeh it's a bit of a nightmare. It doesn't help the previous owner spliced the fogs into the headlight wiring aswell!
-
Cheers for info guys. I'll order the plugs tomorrow, what terminals should I need for the plugs? Here's a thread I started a while ago. Scroll halfway down and you'll see the pics I posted. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=83386

You legend! Are both headlights the same wiring wise? I've spoken to the dealers and I can get the plugs, they are just unsure on whether the individual connectors for the wires come with the plugs. If not then I certainly won't know which type I need haha.
-
Ok will do thanks. I could still do with a picture of each plug for each headlight so I know what colour wire goes in what order.
-
Both ideally. But pics would explain a lot, which colour wires go in what order on each headlight.
-
Ok then thanks. I've had a look at my headlights and the colour wire are the same but I'm slightly confused on which way your viewing your wiring from sorry. A picture would explain better. thanks again.
-
I'm hoping I don't have to do that just for the sake of two plugs or even someone simply putting the wires in the wrong order haha.
-
Thanks Veedubbed, that would be a massive help. I could then figure out why the main beam also switch on when I turn my headlights on. I've already bought a uprated loom, it's just a shame I've been waiting to fix this headlight wiring fault first.
-
I know this is a little bit of a sore subject, but headlight oem plugs the 4 pin female type. My headlight loom has been butchered by the previous owner who has kindly removed the oem plugs and fitted crimped female connectors! I've had constant problems with my headlights since owning this corrado, I need them sorting. Could anyone please take a picture of their headlight plugs so I can see what colour wires go where? And also does anyone have the part number for the connectors you use to fit to each wire when fitting the original 4 pin plug? Thanks in advance. I'm slowly goin out of my mind over this headlight problem.

Hiya I need both front cooling ducts from the front bumper to the inner wheel arches. Someone has decided to remove mine. Thanks
-
Cheers fla for the response and info. Does anyone have the part number for the motor? I'm struggling to find it in vagcat.
-
I've had this fault for some time now, well the whole time I've owned my C. As is the way it's on my to do list. Anyway, when stripping down the drivers side wiper arm I've found the metal bush that spindle passes through is very warn. Which is obviously affecting the way the wiper works. Are these bushes a standard part I could get? Also the motor I think is on it's last legs due to the fact any speed over 50mph and it struggles to bring the arms down. I take it it's a new motor time? How easy is it to remove the motor? And can these be bought new aswell? Cheers

I need a outside scraper seal for the passenger side door please
-
Do you have a passenger side window scraper seal in good nick?
-
Hiya this has been bugging me for a while now. Since I've owned my C a 1990 1.8 16v I've noticed it's missing a few rubber grommets on the front bulkhead in the engine bay. Can someone please post up the part numbers or size of grommet I would need to cover the holes? Thanks

Do you have a early L90E white bonnet, a passenger side and front bumper in good condition? Also do you have a passenger side electric window motor? Cheers
