    Dodgy MOT

im with davidwort on this, sounds like he's just tryin to get work from you. i had a similar experience a while back.
  2. sound, not far from me at all. will give you shout shortly as i may be up that way lookin at some wheels at the w/e.
  3. where in lanc's are you mate. might be interested in the wiper arms. cheers.
  4. hats off to you (and countless other)heroic hard working members of all of our services for the work they do or have done wullie! it's the pen pushers that think"if we do this n that,we'll get our own way" that annoy me,NOT people like yourself and other emergency working folk. but at NO point in my life will i ever see going on strike as the way to do thing's,as in this day and age moderate to well paid jobs/careers are hard to come by,and plenty of out of work people would be willing to do the work that people on strike down tools and refuse to do. my wage at the time was roughly £140 pw and shared one room with 3 other lads on camp. oh,and if we'd have tried striking,we'd have gone to jail, simple as that!!! don't get me wrong most soldiers love what they do,soldiering, but i certainly didn't join up to tidy up after all and sundry because they thought they were a bit hard done to(or for the pay rate either, lol).
  5. i'd check if any of the fuel lines are kinked or blocked, was it happening before you changed the filter?
  6. what's the difference between early and light headlight lenses,as i cant really see any?
  7. no buddy, never bin down a pit,but i do remember the dockers and shipbuilders destroying their own industries tryin to hold the country over a barrel.i'm not from darn sarf either,i'm from liverpool and know about living near the breadline and rioting, myself and me dad served in the army for 5 and 20 years respectively and let me tell you there is nothing more soul destroyin than having to be on call to do a firemans work in an antiquated green goddess just because some turd from a union thought firemen weren't on enough money(even though their basic wage was 3 times what i was paid as a soldier!) WTF! think we should agree to disagree as they say,as it certainly wasn't a situation that was as black and white as either of us think or would like to paint it.
  8. lol, true! well bar the thatcher bit imo, thatcher was no angel mate,as we all know but deep down it was a combination of labour and the union's causing strikes every five minutes and trying to hold the nation to ransom that really bo77ocks'd up industries such as mining. people got sick of hearing things like another strike scheduled for such n such a date, the nation will come to a stand still, there'll be no electricity supply and so on mate, then having to get the army in to do all the work that strikers weren't doin. never mind paying twice or three times the amount for home grown,as it could be gotten abroad for.
  9. fair do's,i know that can and does happen from my own recent painfull experience of having to sell my house as my courier company couldn't compete with the "larger" companies,so had to sell up to pay off debts etc and move into rented. i know what you're sayin mate, but you have to admit there are far to many so called "poor, poverty stricken" people who have never done a tap that think they're owed a living in this wonderfull country of ours.
  10. bloody hell, thanks kev,it never even entered my head that they'd be different tbh, will check. just out of curiosity, what are/where they? 280s?
  11. niiiiiiiice mate, lovin the spoiler extension.....where from and how much please?
  12. yeah, till it gets a bit slippery in the winter eh!;)
  13. bargain! just shelled out on a new one aswell, gutted
  14. NO-ONE TRULY GOES WITHOUT IN THIS COUNTRY seen a programm a few months back regarding these "poorer people" from run down area's on the tv. now i'm not sayin some people don't have a very hard time gettin by from day to day BUT.... these people who supposedly had "nothing" where all still sat playin on xbox360s,wearing nike air max, talkin on iphones etc and eating takeaway food on a daily basis,oh,and the rent/council tax free homes, all courtesy of the taxpayer!!! me n my wife both contribute to society and pay our way and we could never afford to buy my 11yo daughter half of the stuff these so called poor people had....pi55e5 me off tbh. need to stop givin them money and start giving them what they need, and so be it if its food tokens etc!!! after all its a handout, not a god given right.
  15. had a very similar issue with mine, and after much headscratchin and eliminating it did turn out to be a dead battery, since changing it its been fine, touch wood.
  16. hi all, i have been offered a complete front set up from a 99 2.0gti,cheap with new discs n pads fitted. this is whats on offer; front hubs inc bearings, calipers, carriers, discs, and pads, and even flexi hoses. my question is simply can i change them onto my corrado complete,as they are? i.e. take my whole bearing, hub, discs, calipers, carriers, off and stick these on
  17. jimbob88 is after a set of a's mate,give him a nudge.
  18. if it where me i'd pay him a visit tbh,i reckon the shock of you tippin up there will wrong foot him,and all will be fine in the end.
