  1. Just for the record, that's a completely different looking strut than on my 16v......I think!
  2. The nut-type thing that I'm talking about can only be seen once the strut is off the car. It's the nut that has to be removed to replace the top mount - hence, it also acts as the spring retainer. I'm not sure if all Corrados had these as I've owned Golf GTi's with and without them.
  3. I think I have this problem licked. I bought a tatty Corrado, which I adore, but I've accepted that it'll always be a tatty Corrado and I rarely spend any money on it.....well, maybe on things I want rather than need....like the FK lights and the German plates and the 17s and the...... Who am I kidding?!
  4. If you're talking about the nut-type thing with two slots in it then I made my own tool to undo it late one night when all else had failed. If you can find a piece of hexagonal or round bar that's about the same diameter as the nut thing then you can file it down until you have a raised part across the middle, which fits in the slots. If the bar was not hollow it will also be necessary to drill out the centre so it fits over the threaded part of the slider. Tricky to explain but I'll provide pics if required. Then again, you may not be talking about the nut-type thing at all.......
  5. I can't condone any of this.....after all bikes are soooo much faster! I would urge anyone out there with a motorcycle licence to pop down to the nearest Yamaha dealer and test-ride a 2004 R1. You ain't exerienced speed and acceleration like it....unless you either own one or fly Tornados for a living.....
  6. The going rate for a *good* 1.8 16v.....I paid £1400 for mine a year ago and it was a little tatty but only 92k with lots of history.
  7. L-reg with 70k.....what a waste....thieving b4stards
  8. "puss"....wtf???? You crazy N. Americans! No matter how I try I can't make that word sound anything but dumb in a sentence where it describes something good. Mental.
  9. JoeNose, what sort of money would you be looking at if they did go up for sale?
  10. I really like it....it's just so beautifully OTT! I feel that the effect may be lost on the dreary streets of Norwich though. Totally a Cali-car.
  11. Even a tatty 1.8 16v with MOT is gonna be worth around £1000 I'd say - maybe sligtly more with leather. That's what I'd expect to pay at least. Sounds like it's make a decent base for a project Corrado.....hmmmm .....
  12. Holy cr4p...I certainly wouldn't mind that parked in my drive!
  13. G60Renshaw, What rear lights are those if you don't mind me asking? Sweet ride btw....total class.
  14. 210k miles....jeez! My 16v feels fragile at what claims to be 114k...
  15. I look forward to seeing this bizare concept in the 'flesh' one-day!

  17. *sigh*...it's about time the car audio manufaturers supported Ogg Vorbis
  18. Mine's just passed too...20k miles and no work since the last MOT and it only cost £37! That'll do nicely.
  19. 1990 16v...up at 56mph, down at 15mph. I'll assume that's a later VR6 controller then!
  20. The fuel pump buzzing is normal....when it stops buzzing there's a problem! If you notice it getting louder over time there may be trouble ahead....
