My DIGI 1 N/A 2.0L 16v Project finally drives - video (US)
bcstudent replied to Red=Fast's topic in Engine Bay
Dude, that is the coolest homemade vid I've seen in a while. Thanks for enteraining me during that three minutes and eight seconds of my life - respect due. That song kicks arse too. Who's that hiding in the back of the car looking a little pi55ed off at the end?! -
....and this.... 'nuff said
-
A picture would definitely help here
-
A lot of the slam panel fixings are behind the bumper....for the five minutes it takes I would definitely recommend removing the bumper first. The radiator can stay in place though, after the two top mounting brackets are removed.

The signature is just a p1ss take aimed at VW for producing a car with such sub-standard window wipers and headlights, that's all. As for the R6, there's a guy coming to look at it today (Sunday), which will hopefully leave me with some cash to go R1/GSXR-1000/Fireblade shopping over the winter.

lol....if you'd seen the car you'd realise I'm not that fussy. Bottom line was I rolled my Golf GTi into a ditch (see avatar) and needed a car like yesterday for work. Saw the Corrado, bought the Corrado, did 14k miles in five months with no problems in the Corrado, love the Corrado. It's a bit tatty but it's genuine and tatty - not a load of problems that someone has tried to cover up and everything works on it. It's never let me down in the 20k odd I've done in it and I'd even go as far as to say it drives pretty well with it's new clutch (b4stard of a job that it was). I paid £1400 for it in November, which at the time was probably a couple of hundred more than it was worth but I didn't have the time to argue. It cost me £37 to get through the last MOT and since purchase I've fitted 17 inch wheels (that are now being replaced by standard wheels to improve ride quality), German style plates and FK smoked rear lights.....I also crashed it into a Corsa in February but have since repaired the worst of the damage myself and the scuffed paintwork that remains really doesn't look that out of place! I really can't justify spending big bucks on the bodywork as the car does what I need it to do.

I bought the first one I saw!

New head unit - ignition switch accessory position
bcstudent replied to Yandards's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
The steering lock on my Corrado comes on after switching the ignition to the OFF position even with the key left in! -
My 17s (with standard suspension) are coming off early next week when my standard wheels turn up. I adore the look of the car on 17s but I just can't stand the ride anymore, plus the 17s seem to have made the steering a bit vague. I wouldn't say the handling had suffered greatly though.

I'd have to see them in the plastic, but my first impression is good.

Yup, daily driver. Used to be used for site visits around the country and clocked up 14k miles in five months with no breakages. Now does about 40 miles a day.

I recently paid £100 for a mint slam panel and front bumper. Sounds like I got a bargain. Link to the eBay slam panel: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2488616976&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

I'm quite a fan of black wheels on black cars....or white cars for that matter. The purple tints and the bonnet he can keep though!

I usually advertise stuff as "no offers" and it doesn't put me off when I read it in someone else's advert. At least you know what to expect - I hate the haggling. Either it's worth the asking price or it's not.

German plates. Nobody else round here has cottoned on yet and they still look a bit different as a result.

anyone got the ETKA parts / manual CD ROM ?
bcstudent replied to akacheesy's topic in Suppliers Forum
Is it possible to obtain a copy of this from somewhere? PMs welcome from anyone with suggestions *nudge* *nudge* - happy to pay. -
Interesting comment " Tyres do about 20-25k unless you start doughnutting them or try and pull wheelies" regarding some bloke's " Corrado 2181cc Hatchback 1996." Is this some 2.2 litre RWD special edition I don't know about???? He gave it five peaches so I'll let him off for being daft...this time.

That's something I haven't experienced due to my inability to fold myself into the comedy Corbeau "race" seats in the bucket of scrap.

My mate has a side exit on a Renault 5 Turbo- not one that runs the length of the sill though. Still looks w@nk indeed. I particularly like the empty exhaust cutout in the rear bumper and the sooty marks up the sill and door!! Sheer class.

kvwloon makes a good point, but I'd still not be without the gauge!
-
I don't think that making someone unwelcome because you don't like their paint job is particulary "open minded." Do you?
-
If you're getting paranoid you could always bung an oil pressure gauge in the car - electric ones are only around £30. Ever since the pump on my Mk.2 failed mid-race with a Saab and destroyed the engine I've not had a car without an oil pressure gauge!

I like it....but that doesn't mean I'd like to be seen driving it....
