Hi all, Just wondered if anyone has owned or had any dealings with a ice grey violet vr6, reg L*** CBC. I have been offered it for a good price due to the MOT coming up and there being a couple of issue (windscreen crack main one).

Hi guys, Just quick update on the lil monster. Took it to GTI internationals. Had a great time. Popped it on the dyno and got a read out of: 144 hp, 130lbs torque Not bad for a old car a thought. Also parked up in the CCGB for a while. Really nice guys. Since then I have got some new apex rear springs and bump stops. So they are on now. Much better ride than before. (pics coming) But this could all become irrelevent, as Im looking for a VR6 now. :( I do massively love my car, but the car just hasnt got a torque that I want. Plus its all about the sound of a VR!!!! :D , Just wish it had a bigger under that bonnet. I hope you guys dont think im crazy for wanting to make the jump?

wow, I really feel like i have bit off more than I can chew. Does anyone know of any companies that have made a subframe for the corrado to take bucket seat but still use the runners?
-
I would love some pics if you could do. does anyone know where I could source the fixed mount subframes from?

Flexso replied to mrbeige's topic in Suppliers Forum
Im guessing it will come with fitting instructions. If so pm me and I will get full payment out to you. -
Yeah i have heard that if you dont use corrado subframes that you end up sitting quite high. I think I will acquire some corrado subframes.

Hello, If you pop it into google there is alot of step by step guides to refurbing alloys. In answer to your Qs. 1. its make it easier if you do but not essential as primer covers all amount of sins. 2. Its called sand blasting. 3. Primer is always a good starting point. 4. Yep, its just light painting a car panel. Sand, prime, sand, paint, sand paint, sand, laquer etc. 5. Sand your last coat of paint with fine sand paper (1000 grade ish) ~Then let the lacquer do its job to get a shiny finish. 6. Upto you. just make sure you mask the s*** out of the tyres if you keep them on. Hope this helps.

JSB Racing Shiftlight kit - Pre-order for next batch
Flexso replied to mrbeige's topic in Suppliers Forum
Hi Mrbeige, Im interested in getting the diy kit if you still have some. Would I be able to set it to e.g. 1st light at 3krpm, 2nd light at 4krpm, 3rd light 5krpm etc? Thanks -
ha ha. Love it. And I thought i was going to the extreme with the list above!!!! :D

Tyres are in good shape but will be changed for the trip. I think I do need to look at the suspension set up. tracking is stop on. camber I havent touched.

Thanks for the info. I will try not to go too OTT. I think bucket seats will be on the cards, two reasons; my front seat are worn and when I went round in my friends corrado vr6 I did feel like I was coming out of the seat quite a bit. Also the reason I was gonna get the strut braces is I had upper and lower ones on my mk1 gti. It made the handling alot tighter and more responsive. Good call on the tyres. I will look for good all round tyres. What about a brake upgrade? g60? Thanks for the help.
-
good idea, will look into that.
-
Thats goods. I have got a new radiator that has done about 3k now, so that will help. Would you reccomend silicone hoses? Also gonna look into getting front upper and lower strut braces and a rear strut brace (thinking it will be a a good place to hold the harnesses) I love the way I can always rely on Jim and David to help with my 16v questions :D
-
well about 103 worse case. But havent put it on a track before, so no tsure if the temp will go over 120?
-
think this time round its gonna be about 2 days worth. 4-8 laps. Just wanna make sure im prepared because its a long way to be towed back to the UK.
-
Hello all, Quick question. When fitting bucket seats to your corrado you have to source subframes. Has anyone used original corrado subframes? If so im guessing itsa a welding job? Is there any other things I need to worry about whilst fitting them? thanks
-
Hello all, Just a quick question. Im gonna be taking my corrado to the nurgburgring later this year. Just wondering if it would be a good idea for me to install a oil cooler for the track work? Thanks
